@gloom that’s not the point. snowboy or snowgirl or whatever, are specific characters. A snowman is a snowman. Not a snow person. That’s not what they are called.
I’m annoyed they call is a “snow person” instead of “snowman” Enough with the gender politics. It’s a bunch of crap. Most things referred to as “~man” are short for HUMAN! I.e. SnowHuman! For as much as Nintendo doesn’t listen to fans or common sense, they decide to appease the screeching minority of gender political nonsense.
@Desrever pre or post-calamity DLC would be really cool. I personally won't settle for hyrule warriors. I tried the demo and I just don't enjoy the warriors games. Sure it looks good, but it's nothing like a Zelda game and doesn't capture any of why I love BotW
I have played rocket league since release and put more hours into it than any other game in my life. From my point, its almost the perfect game. All payed items are strictly cosmetic. The game is truly skill based with crazy amounts to learn. The one downside is the switch version has noticeable input lag compared to pc, and the developers won't even acknowledge it :/
@Incarna in Japan there are “nanoblock” sets which are essentially smaller LEGO. They have some awesome designed sets of all sorts of things. They even have Pokémon nanoblock sets and I’m sure they are quite popular. The ones based on Pokémon Quest are especially fitting and cute.
@Heavyarms55 I am with you on that. But this is the first console I've ever had issues with Nintendo's 1st party controller though. My left joy con drifts, and the pro controller unexplicably has a terrible d-pad.
I haven't stooped to Power-A yet. But my hori controller is my go to gamepad. Going to try the 8-bitdo SNES pro pad soon. So at least there are some decent options
@T7Hokage017 never understood the appeal of these. Such ugly wastes of money creating needless garbage. Basically any other figure is better. Somebody must be buying them though as they've been around for so long
You can try it for free in Android. It's a lot more similar to the excellent Monument Valley mobile games than Toad Treasure Tracker. It's well enough made, just a bit boring for me personally.
@Crono1973 that's true. and with profiles on Switch, one would naturally expect each profile gets it own save file. But then how would people share an island? Unless the island were saved to the cartridge... Which is how it should have been done. I can't argue against that. Then you would also only need to buy a new cart (still more expensive than a memory card) to make a second island.
I'm just surprised how many people seem to take such an issue with this. And are completely against sharing the island. To me that goes against the spirit of AC.
@Cotillion you never tried AC, please don't disregard it based on this. In fact, on the gamecube version
You had 1 town, and 4 people could make a character in that town. So it hasn't changed. It's more fun that way to all live in the same town/island with your family.
It was only different with DS and 3DS AC because those are handhelds and rarely shared.
@NorrinRadd I don't really understand the anger against 1 island having to be shared... In the last non-handheld AC (GameCube), a lot of the fun was sharing the town with family members.
I'm with @Stroopwafel on this. I'd rather share my island with others. It's more fun that way.
@Kabloop this is the one thing so many games get wrong. Especially games trying to replicate that fun multiplayer action. One of the major factors in Rocket League is that they somehow almost perfected control. It's what makes is so fun and a viable competitive sport/game.
@PanurgeJr can't agree 100%. Yes, PC's are more powerful and more practical/useful. But when it comes to gaming, I enjoy sitting on the couch in front of the TV like I have since the NES. Could you do that with a PC? Sure. But consoles have a single purpose, an ease of use and accessability. That makes a difference to a lot of people. Especially people with kids.
@Tyranexx DQ 1 is simple by today's standards. For me it's pure nostalgic fun as it was my first ever rpg. There are a couple of required items/things to do before you can get to the end.
But as small kid, I was in awe just exploring the world and encountering new enemies. Lol.
@arrmixer I like FF VI and IX best. But Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior I) was my first rpg ever. And DQ games have a fun sense of humor. The Rocket Slime games are an amazing spinoff as well. I feel like FF games try too hard to make the stories too interesting, and they end up jumbled and nonsensical the longer they go on.
This developer despite taking heavy inspiration, is actually quite good at making games. I’m certain this will be a success. They make Honkai Impact 3rd for mobile, which for a mobile game, the quality is amazing. Now a new game with physical controls! I’m excited.
@Alztru @PanurgeJR his post didn't say anything about American football, only that "soccer" is also a valid term. One that redcoats like to give Yanks a hard time about despite being a British word in the first place.
@gcunit but you could use that logic to never rate any game 10/10. Some people may not enjoy puzzle games, but Tetris is one of the greatest games of all time. Some people may only enjoy sports games, but does that take anything away from Breath of the Wild. Obviously I haven't played New Horizons yet, but it's likely the best game this particular genre has ever had.
Animal Crossing and Rocket League are all I need for years to come. Too bad RL on switch has such terrible input lag that they never address. So i have to place on PC.
@zool @Anti-Matter I am also a 35 year old man and have played AC since it released on GameCube all those years back. Today I primarily play Rocket League on PC. But I'd buy a switch solely for AC if I didn't already have one. But of course I enjoyed Zelda and other games as well
@ecco6t9 though I think they did a pretty good job, especially the characters, I would rather it had been made in pixel art. SotN style. It’s basically timeless, and the gothic details come through so much better than in this 3D work they’ve done. I love Castlevania and even Bloodstained too. But pixel art would have less performance issues and look better.
@SwitchForce @Gamesurfer I think society would be much better off by censoring extreme violence than panty shots.
Of course parents should not let young children play the new mortal Kombat, or shooting game. But kids will find a way. And/or some parents just don’t care.
Violent movies and games 100% negatively impact young minds. I know that’s not a popular opinion.
Point is, I would much rather any youth play music games with panties, than some super violent games.
@aetios the actual vocaloid software used to be a huge pain in the bum to work with. Around v.3 it was more user friendly. I think it might be up to v.5 now but not sure. As a long time music producer (not pro) I’ve played around with vocaloid and it’s quite difficult to coax a good performance out of.
@Orpheus79V seems like an upgrade over the ps4 version then. Low angle camera plus realistic skirt physics during dancing.... they are definitely censoring. @Peterjr1 literally every article about a games being censored, there are commenters praising it. They are the “vocal minority” calling everyone perverts and trying to impose their misguided political correctness on everyone else.
Obviously not a bug. Just more censorship due to crying we-tods :/ It’s weird that companies bend to the vocal minority when it comes to stuff like this, but when there are actual issues (anything with Nintendo and online) companies ignore everybody
Hopefully someday soon (like March 20th) everybody will forget this abomination. Worst AC game. Which is sad because obviously a lot of work went in to making it. But the gameplay is lame mobile trash.
I don’t understand the appeal of a direct focused on a soon-to-be-released game.
AC is one of my favorite games, and this is my most anticipated game in years. But I won’t watch the direct. I’d rather wait til release and discover everything as I play.
For directs, I would rather see what new games are on the horizon.
@Gamesurfer it only costs 10x more because the investors and higher ups can’t go a year without giving themselves crazy raises and insane bonuses. No need for slavery. They could still pay workers and release affordable products. They choose not to, because they are greedy.
@Mii_duck you said male characters being the norm isn’t fair. However, video gaming games have historically been made by males for males. Now that more girls are playing and making games, we are seeing more choice. Seems entirely fair to me. It’s almost like if I said there aren’t enough male models in make-up advertising! And that’s not fair! That’s kind of a silly thing to say.

Re: Poll: Has Your Family Bought A Second Switch To Play Animal Crossing: New Horizons 'Properly'?
@brideck this exactly how AC used to be and what I was expecting anyway. I find sharing it with real people adds to my enjoyment of the game.
For me, the only big negative is lack of save data backup/transfer.
Re: Poll: Has Your Family Bought A Second Switch To Play Animal Crossing: New Horizons 'Properly'?
@NorrinRadd no lol. But the first time I played AC i was 1 of 4 teenagers and we all managed to share the same town.
