Re: Best Nintendo Switch Football Games

Rocket League is the best soccer game ever made. It comes down to gameplay. Its all physics based with no pass button or shoot button or anything of the sort. The room for skill growth is crazy, and the team play is like nothing else.
The switch port however, is crap. Entirely due to input lag that they refuse to address.

Re: Review: Mario Golf: Super Rush - A Solid Swing, But Par For The Course

konbinilife

I have this a brief play this morning. I’m not sure about the actual gameplay.
The standard for golf (minna golf, old Mario golf etc) was you do the power meter, immediately followed by an accuracy meter. This is different and weird and I don’t care for it.
In addition, the right should be for easily moving the camera and getting a look around the course and your trajectory etc.
but not in this game! The camera is a pain to use.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Football Games

Rocket League is by far the best soccer game ever made.
It's the only one i'm aware of where there is nothing like a "pass" button, or switching/playing multiple/different players, etc etc.
Everybody just controls their own character (car) and everything is just physics based. The levels of skill growth are mindboggling.
Quite frankly, it's THE best sports game ever made.
That said, unfortunately the Switch version is the worst version due to input lag.

Re: Random: Elon Musk Appears On Saturday Night Live As Wario

@somebread @Kalmaro they were all relevant to the conversation at hand.
It's clear NintendLife will let comments sway one direction, but not the other. they even deleted my comment you replied to. LOL!
way to push people away from your site nintendolife, you've gone the way kotaku and other crap sites.
i'm out.

Re: Nintendo Teases Mario Kart Tour's Brand-New City Course

konbinilife

@TheRenegade908 the controls are abysmal. it looks and sounds like mario kart, but it sure as hell doesn't play like mario kart. it's no fun at all. basically one of the worst kart racers on mobile lol.
if they could implement actual decent controls, and controller support, they'd have a game on their hands.

Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying

konbinilife

@chardir the joycon are a pain to work on because they have tiny little pieces, ribbon cables, and springs that don't want to go back in their place.
The system itself is not bad too work on.
Please people! Always repair your stuff or replace the battery if need be. I know it's not as exciting as buying a new shiny thing, but it's always cheaper and better for the environment.

Re: Hands On: The EverDrive GBA X5 Mini Solves The Only Real Issue We Had With The Original

konbinilife

@foodmetaphors yep. that's why i stick to console gaming despite pc games generally being cheaper and easily accessable. plus if i game on my pc it's too distracting and i'll never get anything productive done.
give me 1 or 2 games and i'll play them til completion. give me all the games and i'll maybe sample a bunch and never give any a real shot. that ol human nature paradox.

Re: Super Seducer 1 & 2 Refused By Nintendo Due To "Explicit Content"

konbinilife

@thinkhector people often give violence more of a pass than sexual content. I think because sex is inherently more awkward to talk about within families. And parents and family really should be the ones to make the decision on what content is acceptable.
On the other hand, people who argue that media doesn’t influence youth, are most likely very young or a stupid adult.
All that said, I’ll take the job of censorship for the good of my country and people. I trust me to make the right decisions.

Re: Hardware Review: 8BitDo Pro 2 - The Best Switch Pro Controller Rival Has Evolved

konbinilife

@MisterKorman it’s probably exactly the same sensitivity. I dont notice much on switch games, but i got the sn 30 pro+ to use for PC too, and because of the ultra sensitive sticks i dont use it. I play Rocket League on pc and you can adjust the sensitivity in-game, but its incredibly difficult to get it just right.
Where-as my hori switch controller the stick sensitivity is perfect. Basically the same as DS4.
The only other thing i dont like about my 8bitdo controller is it doesnt work via usb. Bluetooth only, which is a bummer sometimes.

Re: Nintendo Partners With Superstar K-Pop Group TWICE In New Switch Promotion

i'm glad to see this comment section not filled with a ton of super cringe fans (or 'stans'? as they call themselves. that's not even a word!) foaming at the mouth at the mention of their idol gods.
kpop is trash. the industry is a sewer. i lived in south korea for 4 years (not a long time, but certainly longer than most and enough to form some opinions.)
it's so much of the worst of american pop culture cranked to 11. like a plastic las vegas.
they want so badly to be seen as 'cool' on the world stage it's pathetic.
there is much to like of traditional korean culture, and hopefully they hold on to that and embrace it.

Re: Hori's Monster Hunter Rise Split Pad Pro Gets A Western Release Next Month

konbinilife

@NEStalgia That may be true but joycons are the only controller i've experienced drift on. and i've been gaming since the NES.
nes controllers had zero drift btw.
I bought the standard version of these specifically to play Rocket League in handheld mode, and while it was definitely easier, I found out that game itself has terrible input lag on switch so no controller will make it playable.

Re: Where To Pre-Order The Limited Edition Zelda: Skyward Sword Joy-Cons

konbinilife

I like them but I'll not buy another joycon. My console left had bad drift, and the right connection issues. My second pair no drift (yet) but the right joycon has even worse connection issues!
I love the joycon in theory. But darned if they aren't overpriced for a faulty product. :/
Even the Pro controller has a crap D-pad. A first for nintendo.
Switch is the only nintendo system I've ever owned where I prefer third party controllers.

Re: Hori Unveils Five New Animal Crossing Themed Nintendo Switch Accessories

konbinilife

@BloodNinja @JHDK @Mr_Persona
I have that hori controller (not this colorway... yet!)
and honestly it's my most used controller and I really enjoy it.
I also use it for PC gaming.
My first joycons had drift, and my current pair, the right one constantly drops connection.

Hori actually had made a PS3/4 mini controller first, and it was much less ergonomic. zero grip and ps stick layout made it a pain. but this switch version i love.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 1.8.0 Is Now Available - Super Mario Items And More

konbinilife

@VoidofLight I played Animal Crossing since the first released on Gamecube in the states. The game was so incredibly different from anything else.
I've skipped a couple along the way, but New Leaf was amazing on 3ds. Terraforming is the only big addition in New Horizons and it's a good one.
However, with Nintendo's backwards game save policies.... I've stopped playing altogether. My Brother's wife put untold number of hours into their game, and then the save corrupted. After that they stopped.
It makes me not even want to invest the time in my island.

Re: Poll: What's The Best 2D Mario Game?

konbinilife

@MarioLover92
It's very difficult to decide between Mario 3 and Mario world.
I think Mario 3 was the most innovative and one of the greatest games of all time.
But something about the world of super Mario world always grasps me. It's my fav.
