Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games

@Paulo Never bought a $80 dollar game, nor a Game Key-Card … why would I? It’s all digital for me. Still, lots of games and some great sales already.

Re: 007 First Light Is More That Just Spies And Style, Launches March 2026 On Switch 2

@user0 Well, just to make an educated guess: IO’s Hitman on Switch 2 is already 58GB and this game will very likely be bigger and won‘t fit a 64GB card, just as many current gen AAA games won‘t. But we don’t know yet for certain, as you rightly write. So why not reserve judgement and tease something that‘s actually about the game without playing into the current (hyped up anger and) controversy?

Edit: You edited (deleted parts of) your comment. This is supposed to answer your original question of why conveying "important information" should be considered rage bait.

Re: The Force Isn't Strong With Star Wars Outlaws On Switch 2, Initial Impressions Suggest

Gameplay footage from yesterday (docked) and today (handheld, but already flagged down by Ubisoft and removed) looked overall fine and partially really good. However, as I‘m no fan of Ubisoft and their games get massive discounts early on, I‘m happy to wait a year or two. Too many games to play on Switch 2 already anyways and time enough for them to properly patch up and optimize.

@Ganner Nice selection! Huntdown was just terrific, I couldn‘t put it down. Fast paced, a good challenge and quite addicticve.
I got Captain Toad Treasure Tracker for my birthday a few months ago too and it‘s such a cute little title perfect to pick up for short sessions to relax in the evening. Enjoy your weekend.

@raymond23 My two cents on Prime Remastered as a gauge of if you will like Prime 4: Even back in the day while it was atmospherically fantastic, I found it a bit long winded, bordering on tedious (scanning, scanning, scanning)… Prime 2 on the other hand was one of my three favorite games of the whole GCN generation (along with RE4 and Wind Waker), more engaging and vastly superior. Prime 4 will most likely be several steps up from Prime Remastered, but of course the main gameplay mechanics will remain the same. So if you like these, it should be a save bet.

Re: Yooka-Replaylee Gets A Launch Date On Switch 2, Full Physical Release Confirmed

jfp

Should be the standard, physical game fully on card (for those who want it) with digital versions being significantly less.

Actually looking forward to this! Never played the original, but I‘m in quite the mood for old-school 3D platformers right now. Also think Sponge Bob: Titans of the Tide for Switch 2 looks promising.

@the_beaver Yes, what a year for platformer fans!

Re: Poll: When The Heck Is Metroid Prime 4 Actually Launching?

Tapping the News icon on my Switch today, it shows "Metroid: Step into the Suit" – advertising Prime Remastered, Metroid Dread and Prime 4 – next to all the new stuff (Kirby Star-Crossed World, Turtles Tactical Takedown, Tetris 99 Maximus Cup, Shinobi etc.). Coincidence or are they starting to ramp up for release now that Kirby is out?

@The_Nintendo_Pedant "lol ok 👍"

And as I wrote, you're free to chose if it is worth it to you.

"yes, I was amazed to find out that your ~500.00 doesn't even buy you the performance upgrades for the games youve already bought, on the console you already bought. 🙄 (in some cases already bought TWICE, on two different consoles...)"

Almost all Switch 1 games run better on Switch 2 out of the box, purely on increased hardware power and the ongoing support work to increase compatibility. If additional work is required, studios themselves should decide if they offer their upgrades for free (like in the case of No Man's Sky and several of Nintendo's first party titles) or charge for their effort. And you in turn have to decide if it's worth your coin.

@The_Nintendo_Pedant BOTW and TOTK have the whole Zelda Notes thing (of which I'm not a fan and which I do not use) and reworked the textures. That classifies as additional content and light remaster work, I think. How you judge the worth of it to you personally is another story of course. Entirely free upgrades include ARMS, Big Brain Academy, Captain Toad, Clubhouse Games, Game Builder Garage, NSMBD, Pokemon Scarlet, Pokemon Violet, Splatoon, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Odyssey, LOZ Echoes and Links Awakening …

@OmnitronVariant Then you should keep to your PC and it's open ended design. Go tweak your games to your hearts content. But if you like a consoles' plug and play factor, that comes with certain concessions. As they are closed systems the games are specifically tailored to those and an upgrade in turn often means additional optimization work. Nonetheless all Switch 2 first party upgrades that were purely on performance are 100% free, only those with additional content you have to pay for. Is the additional content worth your money? That's the question here. You decide! But comparing it to PC gaming …

@SalvorHardin Yes, it's never enough it seems. But I just tried it and it looks and runs perfectly and everything is just so snappy – you can be in the middle of the game in a matter of seconds and it's all just buttery smooth and shiny and crisp.
"The cut rate animations for background enemies in the original is impossible not to notice." Funnily enough I quite liked those animations (as a workaround) in the original. Gave the whole thing a cartoony vibe.
