Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

jfp

@WiltonRoots Me too, it feels rather inconvenient to have to swap cartridges anyways. So I don't care about Key Cards and physical not much either (though I like my Mario Maker 2 steel book edition). Unless there's a sweet sale. I also don't have a problem with limited SD space (or see it as offloading cost to consumer) as long as a sizeable number of games fit. Much less analysis paralysis or choice fatigue. I can download and have at my fingertips whatever I currently intend to play with the rest hanging happily in the clouds. I would only archive once there's a server shut down. Highly unlikely any time soon.

@SBandy1 There's certainly a discussion to be had about the name … But I'm actually curious about the game and I like their dedication. You're not always matching your original vision on a first attempt in any project. They decided it was worthy enough to pursue further. I wish them all the luck! Hopefully it turns out great, for them and for us.

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

@KociolekDoSyta You seem to be a collector. Then maybe we just relate differently to games. I simply like playing them and don't care much about how they are delivered. Like I like a cold lager, no matter if it comes in a glass or straight from the bottle. My real gripe is with how inflammatory this topic is, how inflammatory this article was designed to rile people up and how it detracts from what the main focus here should be: games.

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

@KociolekDoSyta "even tho I don't and won't own Switch 2" But you're spending your time on a Nintendo fansite decrying a "storage" medium for a system you won't ever own? @uncleMike must have really hit a nerve there.

Edit: "Dignity? Yes, people who aren't buying GKC are the ones who have dignity." In your case dignity does not even come into play. If you bought a Key Card you would be plain stupid as you do not own the system. What are we even talking about here?

Re: Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance Switch Resolution Update Now Available

jfp

Finally! This looks fantastic (Switch 2 handheld). The frames were buttery smooth to begin with and now it also looks the part. A huuuuuge step up. All the jaggedy edges, low res menu screens etc. are gone and only the beautiful art style shines. Once I'm done with Silksong I will jump right in.

Re: The Best Nintendo Switch 2 Games

@Paulo Never bought a $80 dollar game, nor a Game Key-Card … why would I? It’s all digital for me. Still, lots of games and some great sales already.

Re: 007 First Light Is More That Just Spies And Style, Launches March 2026 On Switch 2

jfp

@user0 Well, just to make an educated guess: IO’s Hitman on Switch 2 is already 58GB and this game will very likely be bigger and won‘t fit a 64GB card, just as many current gen AAA games won‘t. But we don’t know yet for certain, as you rightly write. So why not reserve judgement and tease something that‘s actually about the game without playing into the current (hyped up anger and) controversy?

Edit: You edited (deleted parts of) your comment. This is supposed to answer your original question of why conveying "important information" should be considered rage bait.

Re: The Force Isn't Strong With Star Wars Outlaws On Switch 2, Initial Impressions Suggest

Gameplay footage from yesterday (docked) and today (handheld, but already flagged down by Ubisoft and removed) looked overall fine and partially really good. However, as I‘m no fan of Ubisoft and their games get massive discounts early on, I‘m happy to wait a year or two. Too many games to play on Switch 2 already anyways and time enough for them to properly patch up and optimize.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th August)

@Ganner Nice selection! Huntdown was just terrific, I couldn‘t put it down. Fast paced, a good challenge and quite addicticve.
I got Captain Toad Treasure Tracker for my birthday a few months ago too and it‘s such a cute little title perfect to pick up for short sessions to relax in the evening. Enjoy your weekend.

@raymond23 My two cents on Prime Remastered as a gauge of if you will like Prime 4: Even back in the day while it was atmospherically fantastic, I found it a bit long winded, bordering on tedious (scanning, scanning, scanning)… Prime 2 on the other hand was one of my three favorite games of the whole GCN generation (along with RE4 and Wind Waker), more engaging and vastly superior. Prime 4 will most likely be several steps up from Prime Remastered, but of course the main gameplay mechanics will remain the same. So if you like these, it should be a save bet.

Re: Yooka-Replaylee Gets A Launch Date On Switch 2, Full Physical Release Confirmed

jfp

Should be the standard, physical game fully on card (for those who want it) with digital versions being significantly less.

Actually looking forward to this! Never played the original, but I‘m in quite the mood for old-school 3D platformers right now. Also think Sponge Bob: Titans of the Tide for Switch 2 looks promising.

@the_beaver Yes, what a year for platformer fans!

Re: Poll: When The Heck Is Metroid Prime 4 Actually Launching?

jfp

Tapping the News icon on my Switch today, it shows "Metroid: Step into the Suit" – advertising Prime Remastered, Metroid Dread and Prime 4 – next to all the new stuff (Kirby Star-Crossed World, Turtles Tactical Takedown, Tetris 99 Maximus Cup, Shinobi etc.). Coincidence or are they starting to ramp up for release now that Kirby is out?
