Re: Guide: The Best Cyber Monday Nintendo Deals in the US

iphys

I love how The Best Cyber Monday Deals begins with the Super Mario 3D World Wii U bundle for regular price. Not that it's a bad deal for what you get, but you can get that deal any day of the week. I had visions of Nintendo moving a couple million Wii U systems in the month leading up to x-mas, but they really dropped the ball for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. If people didn't buy the Wii U to play Super Mario 3D World last year, they're probably not going to this year. They needed a price drop to compete with XOne, or If they'd at least had a Smash bundle for $300, that would have sold people.

Re: Nintendo Might Not Be Making More GameCube Controller Adapters at the Moment

iphys

Luckily I pre-ordered the bundle, but if you didn't do so it was hard to pre-order the adapter: amazon.ca had it for $60 for the longest time so no one was paying that, and futureshop and bestbuy.ca didn't even put it up on their web site till it was released, so Nintendo could have very easily been misled into thinking it wasn't going to be popular judging by the low number of pre-orders for it.

Re: Meta Knight amiibo to be Best Buy Exclusive in US

iphys

It would probably be easier on the stores to stock these things if each chain only had to carry a smaller subset of the amiibo, especially if Nintendo is going to release hundreds of these things. If they limited each amiibo to one chain, at least you could figure out where to get that amiibo, rather than hunting around at maybe half a dozen places to try to find it in stock somewhere.

Re: Feature: The Wii U is Two Years Old, But How's it Doing?

iphys

Honestly, it's done better than I expected. I was physically ill with disappointment the day they announced it, but it hasn't been the complete failure I thought it would be. It's still in need of a Tetris game before I will consider it a legitimate console though.

Re: Pikmin Short Movies Available to Buy Now on Wii U and 3DS

iphys

@Jahir I'm talking about: "the collection has to be bought separately for Wii U or 3DS, costing $4.99 each." Does that mean the collection of shorts has to be bought separately for $4.99 per short, or the HD and 3D collections need to be bought separately for $4.99 per collection?

Re: Nintendo's Quirky amiibo Video Shows How They're Used in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

iphys

That was cute, but I still don't really have a practical sense of how I would use these. If I were going to buy an amiibo, should I be looking to buy one I would want to fight against rather than the character I main? That makes me really confused because I'd want to buy my main to have on display but then it would look stupid to be fighting alongside the exact same character.

Re: Wii U Owner Proves That Rejecting The End-User License Agreement Locks The System

iphys

I doubt the agreement could truly be legally binding anyway though, since by threatening to take away your right to play your games it's basically blackmailing you into accepting the agreement. Just agree and disconnect from the Internet if you're truly paranoid that Nintendo is going to mess up your system. It's not a real agreement if they've given you no option to disagree.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Website Introduces amiibo Details

iphys

I'm still not really sure if I will buy any of these. I feel like they're just going to end up collecting dust, and it's disappointing the ones that interest me aren't coming out till December, and the new 3DS not till next year in my region.
