Been trying to find a copy of Rhythm Thief for $20 for a while, since I saw it on sale for that price at EB but couldn't find a copy at local stores. Was sort of hoping it would come to the eShop. Yay!
Playing Wii games on the GamePad is a feature we always should have had. It's a little awkward setting it up on the stand and using a separate controller, but it's a great feature to have if you need your TV for something else or just don't want to waste as much power. I'm really happy they finally added support for USB keyboards, because using the stylus isn't optimal, and even the Wii had keyboard support.
The bugs with the Zen Pinball 2 leaderboards on Wii U was enough to convince me never to buy their tables again. I'm glad I avoided the temptation to download this.
I think they just quietly wanted to discontinue all the original 2 GB models to introduce 4 GB ones, or maybe it's cheaper for them to manufacture a plain black paint job than the varied black on the original.
Good deal, but Bundle 2 seems a bit silly, as you need a balance board already, and anyone that does would most likely not need a sensor bar or wiimote. Assuming they're doing the same "buy a Fit Meter, get Wii Fit U for free" thing in Japan, I don't see the need for Bundle 2 at all — might as well have done a completely different bundle from Bundle 1 to try to attract a different crowd.
I think it sold more copies for Wii U simply because Wii U owners have so little choice in game selection at the moment, and this is the highest rated game for it so far, so the majority of Wii U owners will be buying this game. I doubt many 360 or PS3 owners ran out to buy a Wii U just to be able to play this game on the GamePad (if they even gave a thought to buy this game with the piles of 360/PS3 games they likely still need to play).
I'd say half the people I'm tagging have the games, but I suppose the people that bought the games are more likely to be taking their systems out and about.
I'm concerned that only 200,000 people have played the free app, so presumably far less than that will buy the game. I initially had no interest in this game but pre-ordered it after playing the app, so I wasn't one of the people annoyed by all the delays with the game.
If you read the promo, the 20 bonus coins actually get credited on July 1st, so you won't get a single coin toward this CN year from it, so it's really only good if you want the coins toward your status for next year.
The odds I will get an Ouya just decreased by a fair margin. It was bad enough that Nintendo was going to have to compete with a console that people could pirate Nintendo games on, but Ouya definitely had no right to use an image of Mario to market their device.
I'll be getting this just as soon as they un-lose the high scores they claim they "lost" for me on 15 tables on Zen Pinball 2. I don't trust this company anymore after their ridiculous leaderboard fiasco the past two months.
Just please not touchscreen controls again, as it drove me nuts having to look back and forth between screens. If you never played it: imagine if you had to look at your controller every time you wanted to push a button, meanwhile losing track of what's happening on your TV, then looking back at your TV and being in a hurry to react, but then having to look for the controls again to be able to do so, meanwhile losing track of what's happening on the TV again, and so on.
Well, originally they were making a profit on the 3DS when they gave us these freebies with the system, but then there was the drastic price cut, so I don't think Nintendo could afford to take the hit of giving away any more games for free with the system.
Maybe it's just that I always have Tetris on the brain, but I always think of this game as constructing tetrominoes, which I find more interesting than just lining things up like Columns or Dr Mario. The Scenario mode can be beaten by luck rather than skill though, and it's not very engrossing, so it's kind of weird that something called Exercise mode feels like it's the real heart of the game. It's definitely worth the $3 though.
Yeah, I had a surprising amount of fun, despite waiting over an hour and a half to try out Mario Kart 8. The streetpasses were awesome, I played MK7 with a big group of people, and the loot was great too. They should have had more demo stations, so people could try all 4 games though.
I don't think there's really a difficulty spike. On easy, you can basically just mindlessly fill up columns and count on things to clear by chance, so the speed barely matters, but even with more colours, there's time to shift after touching the stack, so even though the speed looks fast, it's still quite playable, especially if you're consistently clearing stuff to buy yourself extra time and take advantage of the piece preview to plan ahead.
I couldn't access it from Nintendo's site at first, so came to Nintendo Life, but it was lagging like crazy, so I went back to Nintendo's site and got the stream there finally. It was still lagging like crazy, and then it suddenly went off air about 40 minutes in when it should have ended, but it wasn't at the end yet. I had to rewatch the entire thing on youtube after, and there was about 8 minutes that Nintendo had never bothered to stream at the end, I'm guessing because I was 8 minutes behind from all the lag when it actually ended.

Re: Nintendo Confirms The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3DS XL Bundle for North America
Yes, very much planning to get one somehow.
Re: Rayman Legends Lands With A Thud At Japanese Retail
They're probably all playing Pokemon right now instead I suppose.
Re: Coloured 3DS XL Charging Cradles Coming to Club Nintendo
I never used the original cradle, but maybe someday I'll have a use for this. I'll try to get a red one if they don't sell out in 2 minutes.
Re: Two New Limited Edition 3DS XL Consoles Coming To Japan Next Month
The coloured buttons look toyish.
Re: Review: Astro (DSiWare)
Glad I waited for the review.

Re: Iwata Asks Connects With The Team Behind StreetPass Relay
Sadly, most of the relays in my city seem to get used less than once a day, because my data will still be there a day later.
Re: Four New Titles Added to Wii "Nintendo Selects" Budget Range in Europe
I might rebuy Mario Kart if we get this as a Select in NA at some point.
Re: Puyo Puyo Tetris Could Be The Perfect Puzzle Mashup
I'd buy that.
Re: Weirdness: This 1DS Spoof is Remarkably Well Done
I feel like the 1DS should just be 1-dimensional, so maybe all they give you is the stylus.
Re: Esteemed WiiWare Brawler Rage Of The Gladiator Is Coming To The 3DS eShop
Might have to buy this again. This is the closest thing to a 3D Punch-Out, which is the one thing I really, really want for 3DS.

Re: Club Nintendo Japan Gets A Trio of Awesome T-Shirts
I'd totally get the Wonderful 101 one. They should have these everywhere. It helps advertise their games.
Re: SEGA Genesis Shooter, Steel Empire, to Get the 3DS eShop Remake Treatment
Wow, I'm totally going to buy this if it comes out in NA.
Re: Video: New Trailer Blasts Away Confusion Over Summer Carnival '92 RECCA
This looks so cool. It's hard to believe it's a NES game, because it doesn't look the least bit clunky.
Re: Classic Retro Titles Coming To North American eShop Later This Year
I thought Recca was the highlight of the Direct.

That rabbit!

Re: Weirdness: Check Out This Brilliant Donkey Kong Stop-Motion Video
Lol. If only he'd tried finger waggling the cartridge in the slot, he might have saved himself all that trouble.
Re: Weirdness: Mike Tyson Was Rubbish at Punch-Out!!
Oh, the irony.
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th July (North America)
Probably going to get Chain Blaster, after trying the demo of course.
Re: North America, It Looks Like You'll Have The Black 3DS XL Soon Enough
Time to buy another 3DS, lol.
Re: Nintendo of America Offers Free Wii U eShop Credit If You Splash the Cash
Might as well add the funds. I'll use them later.
Re: Picross e2 Set For July Release in North America, e3 Arrives in September
e was so bland, I'm probably not going to be in a hurry to get e2 or e3 till I've cleared my backlog.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th July (North America)
Don't forget to snag Puddle while you're at the eShop for Earthbound.

Yes, it's actually Monster, not Minster.

Bought!!!!

Re: Review: Game & Wario (Wii U)
Gamer is pretty much the only game I want to play. Glad I only paid $26.66 for this game, as I don't think it's going to be a keeper.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th June (North America)
Super Little Acorns for me. Aww, no StreetPass DLC yet? Oh, and the retail release for New Super Luigi U doesn't arrive for 2 months in NA.

Nice, I wasn't expecting any earlier than December, but I guess they probably want it out for Black Friday.
Re: Nintendo Setting Up Thousands Of StreetPass Relay Stations Across US And Europe
Yo, we need this in Canada too, Nintendo.
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th June (North America)
