So now we know why the special physical edition of Puyo Puyo Tetris is a thing. Probably costs them 25 cents to manufacture each of those keychains to justify charging $10 more for the game, when the reality is the $10 is mostly to cover the expense of the cartridge.
Hope to see more news on import games, and maybe even a weekly eShop update on what's available in Japan, since I seem to be buying more games there so far.
I bought the Japanese digital copy, and I'm getting the NA physical copy too! It seems pretty good so far, and it's cool watching people's replay videos, like someone cleared 40 lines in under 40 seconds with a perfect clear at the end.
I didn't even think the Wii U was being sold any more after December, so it's hardly surprising they'd sell more Classics. The Classic could have been number 1 if they bothered to actually meet demand for it.
They don't want us to have anything we can do with the system besides playing games except to access the eShop to buy games, lol. No backwards compatibility, no browser, no Netflix: it's all a plot to make more money selling games.
How hard is it to at least offer us some old NES games for free? This feels like such a scam just offering us discounts to squeeze more money out of us. I already stopped buying new games till they offer a reward I care about because of the coin expiry, but I guess that's the only way a 30% discount will finally be tempting is if it's for a game I'm holding out on buying and actually want.
I'm surprised he scored that high without understanding how the generator works. It's not 1 in 7 odds in GB Tetris. It's 2 in 32 for getting the same piece as the previous one and 5 in 32 for any other piece. It makes it less likely to give the same piece back to back, but then it will be more likely to alternate back to the same piece again, which since you always know your next piece it still totally feels like it's giving you the same piece you just had all the time. Anyway, it helps a lot to know that your second next piece is unlikely to be the same as your next one, but that you shouldn't be making any assumption against it being the same as your current one.
I pre-ordered that standard new 3DS. It's the first one that doesn't include a game I despise and that has a set of cover plates I actually like, and the price is right, although I would have preferred black.
Opted to spend my gold on Super Mario 64 and the Pikmin 3 DLC before those expire, as nothing here greatly interests me. Might get Wario Land 3 if nothing else pops up before that expires and I have more coins to spend. So far it feels like a lot of the same offerings Club Nintendo had, and nothing has enticed me to want to spend money like the Club Nintendo exclusive rewards did. The discounts seem like such a pathetic attempt to extract more money out of us that I'm steering clear of those.
Best thing about these rewards disappearing is there might actually be something better in their places, but I doubt any of these measly 15% or 30% discounts are going to tempt me. I own these games already and the only two I don't I wouldn't want no matter what the discount, and it's probably going to be the same situation next month.
It's pretty much the worst time of year for Nintendo to release a system, since it's the sort of thing parents buy for their kids for x-mas. I fear by the time x-mas 2017 hits it will be old news and struggling rather than the hottest new thing all the kids want.
The discounts are kind of a joke given that we get sales like the Spring sale that are so much better and require no coins. They don't feel like a reward so much as a way to bleed more money out of you, and I don't understand why NA gets smaller discounts than elsewhere. And yeah, it's lame that almost everything is something I already own, as if they're trying to convince me I should be buying fewer Nintendo games than I have been.
I don't see why they couldn't have just awarded one gold coin per dollar spent. Super annoying that I buy retail games physical and most of the games I buy on the eShop are only like $5 and won't reach the $7 (realistically $7.99) threshold to qualify for any gold coins.
Cool, pretty soon I can start buying stuff from the eShop again. Basically only bought a few things that went on sale over the last year, waiting for the new rewards program to go live. Miitomo looks like rubbish though: won't even play it for the rewards.
Kind of lame the only thing I'd want is Picross, but buying Nintendo games doesn't help you earn it, so I'd basically have no motivation to spend any money on their games.
I was excited, but I have almost all these on WiiU and I refuse to buy these twice, or more like three times by this point since I bought a lot of these originally for SNES.
Nintendo Selects are pretty much a must if Nintendo expects to sell games in Canada with the dollar making new releases far too expensive to entice most people at this point.
I feel sorry for anyone that actually paid money for it. It wasn't really worth paying for, but to be time-limited without that ever being clear before now makes it even more of a ripoff.
Seriously, I don't think I would mind if someone plagiarized one of my levels, and I would kind of expect that sort of thing to happen in this game with so many kids playing it that are too overwhelmed with the thought of making their own level and that have no clue that plagiarism is wrong. I wouldn't plagiarize a level though, as it's a waste of time to just be copying other people and not trying to create your own thing.
I hope it's Nintendo Account service. It's been forever since Club Nintendo died off, and I'm pretty sure they had promised us a replacement this fall, so they've only got a couple weeks left to deliver on that.
@Mijzelffan I didn't say you're guaranteed a free play from the practice machine, but that it's possible to earn one for getting 10 practice badges, which so far I have done on all 8 attempts across 4 days on two 3DS systems. It should be a rarity to walk away with nothing if you know what you're doing, and even if you fail to get 10 practice badges, they'll at least count towards the next day to make it easier.
@Mijzelffan It doesn't give a lot of blue or red bonuses, but you get a free play for each 10 practice badges you get, which you should be able to get on most days. Plus, they accumulate from day to day, so to fail to earn a free play 2 days in a row you must be doing something wrong if you couldn't get 10 badges across 2 days: look for ways to cause an avalanche instead of only grabbing badges one by one.
It's sharper but that also makes the polygon figures stand out worse. It's not a big enough improvement to justify rebuying the game, so pretty much only worth buying if you've never owned the game or are a diehard fan of the game. So many things in this game drove me nuts though, and I have no intention to play it again.
@Tman Currently GB, GB Pocket, GB Lite, GBC, and Super Famicom, but I think today is the last day to get those until they get re-offered. I stuck the 8-bit Mario sprite on my NES folder for now.

I hate 2D games on 3DS. I guess this game is meant for all the people that cheaped out on a 2DS and never bought a Wii U.

Oh no, it was already frightening enough all the people walking around without looking where they were going. Now it's going to be 10 times worse.

Pretty much explains how they bungled things up so much with the Wii U marketing if they were just taking it for granted the system would sell itself.

Pretty fun, and won some cool Game Boy badges, but I doubt I'll be spending money unless there's actually a theme I really want at some point.
