My cousins had a Master System and were very bitter about not having the NES, but when I played Psycho Fox with them I was so amazed I had to go out and buy one just to play that game. Plus, my mum kept taking away my NES so it was handy to have a secret second system to play that she didn't know about, lol.

@anthonysea Tetris Party (Deluxe) wi-fi is all dead, which hurts the Wii U more than the 3DS that still has Axis, but oh well. Still hoping Ubisoft change their mind about the Wii U or Nintendo make us an even better Tetris game for Wii U.

@Aqueous I'm not even sure it will have download play, so 4 might be sufficient. Tetris DS had 10 player download-play though, sigh.

I don't even know why they put Spotpass in Axis, and yeah, that error message gets annoying, but it's never harmed my game in any way I don't think.

@bofis Did you play the level 11 CPU in Axis, because I think it's harder than the TDS level 4 CPU, and a lot of people don't realize it exists?

I don't understand what happened to the whole idea of using the camera to read QR codes from the cards. That would at least work on 3DS and Wii U, and be less freaky than worrying about the chip accidentally getting scanned, assuming you have to peel off a backing first to read it like the current numerical codes.

@jrob23 You realize these are just US numbers, and the global number is going to be maybe triple that? Considering Nintendo usually sells as much hardware in the 4th quarter as the first 3 quarters combined, and we're in the middle of the summer where people are busy doing outdoorsy things instead of playing games, those numbers aren't bad at all. They're still going to sell loads more Wii U systems and copies of MK8 come the holidays, so just relax.

I'm glad about the no friendly fire thing.

I don't object to the rewards being digital, but I do object to them not being exclusive. Their biggest supporters will have already bought all these games. The elite rewards are supposed to be "special" but there's nothing particularly special about these rewards. This is only good news for people that do the bare minimum to reach platinum and have a good selection of games to choose from that they haven't already bought.

If it's anything related to Ubisoft I'd wish for L-block or some other tetromino to be in and Tetris Ultimate to be coming to Wii U.

How does anyone know for sure it was due to a hack and not some kind of rare glitch in the game that caused it? Pretty much every game has some sort of glitch, especially with games getting more and more complicated to track down every possible bug these days. I wouldn't automatically blame the player, especially if they have a good track record for honest play.

I doubt it was sympathy, since it wasn't like he was on his deathbed, and they have to worry about the company's profitability. I think it was the sense that the Wii U finally has a strong future ahead of it, and wasn't just a total mistake to go with.

If it is technically possible, there's no excuse why Nintendo shouldn't be doing this for VC.

Riot, lol! Nintendo will never demo another fighting game in-store again. No Splatoon demo out of fear of crazy shooter fans showing up with guns blazing for their chance to play the game.

ZombiU is regularly $20 marked down to $15 on the Canadian eShop at least.

Hmm, bought Rayman Legends for $40 and traded it in for $30. Maybe I should rebuy for $20, lol.

If it were some average brand, maybe I'd be put-off by the petty commercialism of it, but I just think it's really cool that I'll be able to drive a Mercedes in this game. Maybe it will get the youngsters interested in Mercedes so they'll buy one decades down the line, and maybe it will get older people interested in Mario Kart: I think I could convince my mum to play this game if I told her she could drive a Mercedes in it, because she already owns one and loves driving around town in it with the top down and having people whistle and take notice of her in it, lol.

Lol, they didn't want this to be a Nintendo commercial, but that was exactly what my mum called this movie after we walked out of the theatre. I bought a copy recently, and it's not totally awful, but it's hard to believe anyone would have cared about it were it not for the Nintendo coolness factor.

Nintendo has already lowered the price of the system. I really don't care what these hypocritical third parties have to say about saving the Wii U after they told Nintendo they'd be along for the ride and then pulled out or did nonsense like what happened with Rayman Legends that hindered the Wii U. Meanwhile, when Nintendo makes the Wii U successful all on its lonesome in a year, I'm sure these third parties will all rush in to make a profit off it like a bunch of leeches.

Yay! But we still need Tetris for Wii U now that Nintendo killed the Tetris Party wi-fi. The only good thing about a third party not making Tetris for Wii U is that if Nintendo has to make it they will do a better job of it.

I still play it once a week or so to do My Routine, so this update will be especially welcome.

I know Nintendo wants to put their focus on the Wii U, but I really don't think anyone is going to buy a Wii U to play GBA and DS games they could play on a much cheaper DS Lite. Handheld VC should be for 3DS to maintain its portability. If they want to get people to buy a Wii U, GameCube VC would be much more exciting.

That's crazy. No wonder Nintendo is going into the amiibo business. Way easier to sell a piece of plastic junk than spend months and months programming fancy games barely anyone cares about.

Canada gets the same toys as the US, don't we? If so, I'll be buying myself some Happy Meals to go for a boy (in hopes of avoiding Peach). Honestly, the meals aren't that greasy/salty/gross if you get the snack wrap, apple slices, and chocolate milk, and $4 is a good deal for what you get.

I'm sure a lot of 360 people went to PS4, because the Xbox One was a joke in comparison from the start. I don't know if Wii to PS4 is a very logical step though, except for kids who wanted PS3s and their parents gave them Wiis but now they've grown up and can afford to buy what they want..

Treehouse Live was awesome, because it really gave me a good sense of whether or not I would actually enjoy playing the games.

I guess with no 3D on the touchscreen, I might as well just get this on Wii U for the higher res Gamepad screen and DDP points.

Now if we could just get Tetris for Wii U.

It's too late to remove it, because people have already been using this in the time trials and it would be too hard to figure out which ones to delete, but it also doesn't seem like such a bad feature to me. People used to hop to gain speed on a decline, and from what I can tell you now lose speed by hopping sometimes (on a decline in anti-grav I think?), so people are going to need skill to know when to hop and when not to, rather than just mindlessly doing it all the time.

So mad I already bought Tennis, as I would have preferred the retail version. Guess I'll just get Boxing unless they offer us an equal deal like buy 4 get 1 free on the eShop.

It's going to be maddening for the free users that pay the 2 coins and then get disconnected, lol. But I think that's fair that they should have to invest something in the game, because I felt like some of them just went on there to troll people and friendly fire.

So will there ever be an update for the original Tappingo to add the improvements as well? Not sure whether I'll replay it, but it would be nice if the game isn't forgotten after the 2nd installment comes out, especially for anyone that hasn't played the original yet and ultimately wants to get both.

@Donjwolf An ad pops up for it on the Canadian Nintendo site, and it doesn't say it's limited to US Target locations, so fingers crossed.

This review confuses me by saying the game doesn't have stereoscopic 3D and then praising the 3D graphics. If it's a 3D-rendered game, why wouldn't it provide us with stereoscopic 3D, and how can you possibly praise the 3D graphics if they did something as lazy as making a 3D game for the 3DS yet only allow you to view it in 2D? That's a huge downside to buying this game for those of us that bought a 3DS specifically to play games in 3D, and the conclusion of this review will mislead anyone that doesn't read the whole thing.

I only like green shells for defense. I almost never manage to hit anyone with one unless someone's right on my nose.

I wish we could listen to our own music off SD while playing. It was supposed to be possible, but I don't think a single game actually allows us to on 3DS.

Didn't get a code, but I'm not interested in the game. That is pretty cool though giving demos to people they suspect will be interested. I hope they do this for other games in the future.

Lol, so you can spend 6 hours a day actually gaming on your Wii U before you even use as much electricity as the competitors use just being plugged in doing nothing all day.
