@Savino Found out it didn't play like the regular ones, so I wasn't interested. I guess we didn't miss much. Now, whatever the WiiWare one was, put that on Switch! The WiiU one was not quite the same.
@Scrubicius Yep, the SNES one works like a charm with Contra Anniversary, and basically any retro collection for that matter — even all the Hamster Arcade Archives/Neo Geo games. I've been playing the redone Ninja Warriors game with it lately. I've also hooked up the controller that comes with the SNES Classic using the 8BitDo GBros. adapter, but then you're missing the zl and zr buttons.
Still prefer R-Type to be sprite-based. Also, the game needs to move faster and rock on the soundtrack. R-Type III sucks you right in from the get-go. Also, the load screens are annoying. At least let us see the ship completely blow up!
@NikHogan Of Myths and Monsters is on the Gameboy! But yeah, how can it be so hard to make a new one? Just let some indie company make an all-new 2D (sprite-based) platformer with all the spirit of the first two games. HD and 60 fps. Instant cash.
@SuperToe Yes, always has been Shooters for me. Stupid FPSs stealing the name... And "Time Pilot on steroids." I think that might have sold me on it. Didn't hear about this game back in May.
I grabbed this game digitally when it was on sale. I was looking forward to the weapons update hoping it was going to give me some RC Pro Am Karnaaj Rally vibes. Nope. Kind of uneventful. Nice presentation though.
@X68000 Yeah, I mean that pic is when you take a warp. Not many people did that. The NES version even has a proper stage where they are statues shooting rings at you. Use that pic!
@Nathendo yep, I have one. But many helpful people here have informed me you can press start and select together to access the menu! No more urge to buy the new controller, but it still would be fun to have!
@Starrebirth Not sure what you mean. I'm using the 8bitdo adapter with a SNES mini controller and there's no way to get to the menu to get back to the game select and other options. You can't even get to it with a joy-con connected unless you plan on connecting and disconnecting each time you want to rewind a game or get to the menu.
@Rutty_YT Yep, but you were talking about not being able to use it on My Nintendo. I was just saying you can use it on the eShop. Besides, a penny saved is a penny earned!
@Burning_Spear I'm beginning to think you're right. I went in assuming there was still a prize to reach for past the GB theme, but I can't find anything out there that confirms it. Waste of time!
Vs. Excitebike is so much better than the normal one. Some good music in it! I kept hearing a part of the song during a race and couldn't quite put my finger on what it sounded like. Finally realized it was Ice Hockey's in-game music.
...and I had a feeling it was used in World Rally. Sure enough. It would be nice to be able to play that game online again.
So when people say Bubble Bobble, do they actually mean Bubble Bobble or Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble? Just wondering because I saw more Bust-A-Move machines in arcades than Bubble Bobble.
Someone needs to remake Contra Force. I liked that Gradius-style power-up system. Fix the slowdown and make it 4-player simultaneous. Anyway, this is bought Day One.
This can't be a successor to OutRun unless it's a checkpoint-style racer. I hate laps. I'm all for a Cannon Ball Run type racer. Activision should make a new Enduro.
Looks fun. Almost seems like it needs some weapons— like RoadBlasters. I'd prefer it have checkpoints instead of laps, but it's not a deal-breaker. The graphical style is fine. I find the more realistic the driving is the more I want to fall asleep.

@-wc- I'm either playing it docked or in tabletop using a pro controller. I don't use the JoyCon unless Im forced to.

Sold out in the US.
Re: This Side-Scrolling Shmup Has Intriguing Gameplay, But A Terrible Name
@Daniel36 @RawBert I know. I've always referred to the genre as "shooters." Then 1st-person games had to come along and change the meaning.

Re: Arcade Archives Donkey Kong 3 Blasts Onto Switch This Week
Day one purchase. My favorite DK, probably because it plays like Galaga. I miss the arcade version. I'll be breaking out the Hori stick for this.
