I'm a huge Tetris fan with 100 hours logged on Puyo Puyo Tetris. This makes me so happy. I wonder if it'll have crossplay?

@Racthet916 Well, it's classic Nintendo. They put Tetris as the first multiplayer game on the original GameBoy. This makes me feel just like that.

Now they should also make a BotW battle royale set in that whole Hyrule map. Imagine that.

Tetris is fun, too, though.

Well that's a pretty cool freebie for Switch online members.

Just remember though that all of this online stuff will probably be gone in say ten years time when Nintendo decides to shut down all the servers for Switch and stuff.

@sanderev Don't get me wrong, I'm totally going to give this a whirl, it could be lots of fun. I just never would have guessed they'd make Tetris into a Battle Royale game, totally caught me off guard.

For some reason I am really psyched for this. I was drooling over TETRIS EFFECT once again on my PS4 this weekend, wishing I had a good Tetris for the Switch. This will more than do. So glad I have my Hori D-Pad joy-con for this!

I'm going to get it, because it's Tetris and it's free. But I have to admit to losing my mind laughing when I first saw it. I've made jokes to friends and family about Battle Royale being so popular that we see Tetris and Pacman versions... Now I'm sitting here wondering when we get the Pac Man Royale. Get on it, Bandai.

I wanted Tetris Effect to come out for the Switch, but barring that(never happening), this is the next best thing.

@KIRO I'm the same, I'm not a great player and I'm probably never going to get better than the level I'm already at but that's fine. I've been disappointed there's no Dr Mario yet outside of NES online but 99 Tetris for free nearly makes up for it.

Was gonna buy Puyo puyo tetris but I’ll start with this instead. Glad to see my NSO subscription is being put to work

I still don't get fortnite, it is so slow and boring ugh, however Tetris 99 sounds really great

I was pretty bored of the Direct until this was announced. I hate the whole battle royale band wagon as it proves the industry is running out of ideas and is just turning in to a microtransaction money making machine, but this game is brilliant (and doesn't have microtransactions). The only problem is the targeting of other people is pretty hard to do accurately and quickly when trying to concentrate on your own game at the same time.

Not really a fan of tetris, but hey for Free, I'll give it a shot. Puyo's more my thing, but I'd be interested to see how I compare to the rest

@UnbreakableAlex Using the WiiU Pro with the help of the 8bitdo adapter. Works like a charm! The latest firmware even enables rumble.

I like this, super fun got in the top ten a couple of times but it gets pretty hard at that point.

I don't like battle royale games, I downloaded this just for a few laughs... I made it as high as #29. This is way more fun than it should have been. Everything went better than expected.

Yeah I hope they add a few more modes to this, it's as bare bones as it gets. But it is "free" so you can't say its overpriced.

@ilh The industry isn't running out of ideas, it has always been like this. Companies are constantly iterating and borrowing from one another. Battle Royale is popular for a reason, and Tetris boils that reason down to bare essentials with one of the best designed games on the planet.

Family was tired last night. We watched the direct late. Tetris was the first of the freebies and demos available to download and... we all woke up! So simple and I think this sort of thing has been done before, but it is very engaging and the battle royale style build up of intensity is great. It's even fun to have onlookers give a bit of perspective on what kind of player to attack.

It's so fitting that Nintendo newest portable gets a great Tetris game. So much fun, and feels so great when you finally win a match.
