@mcpedwards I was thinking that instead of a port or remaster of LCT maybe they could have made something inspired by the Zelda minigame found in Nintendo Land.

It was one of the highlights of that package for me and it would be excellent for a budget arcade-like release.

I could totally see a port of another game happening. Or a Zelda spinoff of some sort.

If this is correct, I believe it might simply be the multiplayer component to Link’s Awakening, which would be under its own title and a separate continuum, but use the same engine.

I'm getting pretty tired of Wii U ports, but something I would honestly love is a port of Wind Waker HD. Ideally, a 2-in-1 collection with Twilight Princess HD. The dream scenario would be those ports with an HD remastered Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Skyward Sword on one cartridge, but I suppose that would be too generous...

I'm convinced that the Star Fox racing game was just that new mode for that StarLink game. I bet a screenshot of it leaked with an Arwing and someone jumped the gun guessing what it was.

I hope it's A Link Between Worlds port for Switch. The fact that ALBW's version of Princess Zelda became playable in Smash Ultimate may be a tease of that. Also Link's Awakening itself is a tease of that since it was originally a follow-up game to A Link to the Past which A Link Between Worlds is a sequel to.

This would be awesome, and I don't think it's too unlikely, but Vergeben has an abysmal track record for anything Nintendo that isn't Smash-related. Unless King Zell confirms it, I'm not getting excited until an official announcement.

I just want a port of Skyward Sword. Only one I missed... tried to play it on my Wii U but the jagged standard def on a watercolor art style hurt my eyes! Especially after seeing the HD versions on emulators. Also remap the controls so we don't have to swing a damn remote for an hour.

Majora's Mask VR please. Lemme see how that mask transformation feels like. But seriously, Minish Cap Remake would be nice.

@daebiya I'll probably take a lot of flack for this, but I don't think you're missing much. Other people love it, but I just couldn't bring myself to beat Skyward Sword. I thought it was too linear and kinda boring. The orchestral soundtrack was great, and I loved how story-heavy the game was, though.

I’m genuinely surprised they didn’t drop Windwaker HD yet. I get that Breath of the Wild is “the Zelda” on Switch but they could have capitalized on BotW’s popularity much better than they did. They could really pad out their first party offerings with some more great Wii U ports of both the HD Zelda remasters. Heck if they’re smart after the 3DS officially stops selling they could Up-Rez the 3DS OoT and MM and resell them either as full games or on the same cart.

Please don't ruin another classic Zelda game with that awful looking chibo link

Even though I have a Link between Worlds on 3DS, I would probably get it on switch as well.

A small one, maybe... but only a small one. Maybe even some sort of multiplayer game. Even so, I find it unlikely. Time will tell.

Four Swords maybe? It'd suit the system amazingly well! Local wireless / single joy-con shared screen multiplayer, and maybe even a boost to their online appeal (optional, because I want Four Swords, but LOCALLY, without required subscriptions of any sort)

@Not_Soos Windwaker HD and Twilight Princess HD ports to Switch would be a complete no-brainer really.

So hopefully that will happen in near future. I really like Windwaker HD and never had the time to finish it, so would be nice to get a second go on the Switch.

How would a battle royale Zelda game even play? 99 (or something) people tossed in a room and it's last man standing? Or whoever gets trough/out a dungeon first? I'm interested, even though I think it will rather be a co-op zelda for those who have the online. I think Zelda works for co-op, locally but especially online. Maybe a zelda roguelike?
I would love to see those wii u Zelda ports get ported to the switch. Then we could all put our wii u:s in our closets for good.

There are dozens of sites that just repost whatever old crap they come across. What makes this site a bit different is there is (used to be?) a good level of curation. I see more and more of these non stories though and it seriously puts me off the site.

Seems pretty plausible. He also had no idea whether Link's Awakening was getting remade or not originally. Then a bad source convinced him it was not. Verge, like anyone else, can believe a bad source. So it absolutely can be coming.

Well, it means a lot of people knew about SFGP. On the other hand, that easily can be due to leakbait. If it wasn't for the latest knowledge PolarPanda gave on the leakbait, it'd be obvious somebody misunderstood that.

For instance, the source who knew of Isabelle had no clue if she was an echo or a clone. And that makes sense. If you see very little gameplay, you can't come to either conclusion. Verge even made it clear he wasn't sure which, but still noted she existed. As for the latest direct, he believed a lot of bad sources, which led to so much wronggggg. So in the end, he went all in instead of being cautious. That's his own hole he dug.

My guess? 4 swords or 4 swords adventure. They aren't the bigegst games, but could be super fun for local multiplayer or even online.

Ooh, if it's a small 2D title, here's what I think it might be: something built off the prototype engine for BOTW, the 2D one, made just to show off game physics and built in the original Zelda style.

As a bonus, I'd love to see this game actually be DLC for BOTW, so in order to play it, you have to pull up a new rune on your Sheikah slate, and in doing so, Link holds the slate out in front of him horizontally, sits down on the ground and begins to play the game and now you're playing the game. So the game is literally a game inside of BOTW. Would love that.

How about a zelda anthology in a similar setup like super mario allstars. However, in this edition you can choose original or updated content. Vol. 1 would contain The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II, links awakening / dx (game boy versions), a link to the past, and a link between worlds. Vol 2. Ocarina of time, majoras mask. Vol 3. Windwaker HD, Twilight Princess HD. Vol 4. Skyword Sword, the legend of zelda bs. This would be only released on 4 gold cartridges.

Guys, stop saying it's a 3D title. They said 2D not 3D. So any 3D game is out of the question. And stop saying Skyward Sword needs to be remastered, that game has such a sucky story and characters it's not even going to be a good remaster.

I really like my idea of it being a DLC rune for BOTW so that it's actually a game on the Sheikah Slate that Link will sit down to play when you activate it, and then you're playing the new 2D game.

@biglittlejake Check out the Zelda BS games. They actually did do this. They're updated graphics. Though seeing them with something better than SNES graphics would be cool too. They're only in Japanese(though I think some people have made unofficial translations, but for the most part, you'd want a game without the "time factor", which is where certain areas of the game are opened based upon the time of the day.

The direct copy-pasting from other sites is lazy and sloppy, might as well just put "here, this other site reported this rumor, go read it, there's a good chance they did so without spelling errors as well."

Whereas, their omission on this site would mean that those who want to see them would need to follow multiple sites for news and rumours. Seems like it would be far easier/faster for people who don't want to see it to just not read them than for those who do to have to hunt them down, no?

Having just played and beaten the GBC Link’s Awakening out of genuine excitement for the remake, I’ll be satisfied with it for Easter Eggs and the art style alone, and pleasantly surprised by any extra content. A completely separate title is icing on the cake.

@Not_Soos I actually liked it a lot as far as I got, which was that desert area with the time warping. The art style was kind of Studio Ghibli-ish, and I liked the new mechanics of running up walls, etc. I just couldn't deal with the remote, really.
