Re: Pokémon Fans Vent Frustrations Online About Scarlet & Violet's Technical Issues

inenai

I have a launch day Switch and to me it's not just technical whoopsies, the console is permamently struggling to put out frames, the whole experience is low FPS suffering... it's like I'm playing at half the speed and I can feel my time being wasted as I struggle to move the character around... ( I know about restarting the game because memory leaks but I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO )

Re: Nintendo Releases Stunning New Story Trailer For Fire Emblem Engage

inenai

So many attractive male characters... thank you Fire Emblem!!! TT_TT I finally feel like I am part of the target audience in a AAA game! Even in Harvestella where you can choose gender and who your partner will be you still have 5 female candidates and only 3 male, with a girl literally living with you from the start even if you don't choose it... it's like they're always expecting players to be attracted to females...

And before someone says it's not an important remark- it is important to me as a player to engage and feel invested in the game. Having waifus thrown at me and have my character show interest when I don't really feel it just make the whole experience weird for me.

Re: Review: Sonic Frontiers - A Bold But Ultimately Failed Attempt At Something New

Ouch. What a low blow. You can't blame the game for looking bad on Switch, I mean, that's not something you code into the game purposefully... I don't think its fair to considerate that in the score so much...

In my opinion once I tweaked the control adjustments the game suddenly became much more enjoyable-- stating this in case it helps someone else out there. If it doesn't "feel" too good at first, try different configurations.

Re: Random: Fan Remakes Pokémon Yellow In Link's Awakening-Style 3D

I agree that the art is not great- I would also argue that this person didn't actually program, they might have just used procedural programming using Unreal Engine's nodes, but I do appreciate that they had the motivation and put in the effort to work on this personal project and put it out there. That in itself is a valuable skill that sometimes more talented artists or programmers lack. Many people have great ideas but hardly anyone actually does something about it.

Re: Backlog Club: Portal 2 Made Me Feel Clever, Despite My Minor Case Of Serious Brain Damage

inenai

I liked Portal a lot, but to me Portal 2 was So. Much. More.

It made Portal feel like a mere tutorial and Portal 2 the actual full game experience. The puzzles are superb, the characters and plot are delightful, but the immersion is what made it absolutely unforgettable to me. I felt like I was there the whole time I played through it. The general ambience managed with the sound design, the art direction, the rhythm of the game's events... everything sucked me up into that world. I played it about 4 times from start to finish and will surely replay it sometime. Even the 2 players coop is so well designed!

Just a note: Always played it on PC so I don't know how different the Switch experience is.

(Sorry for potential bad English.)

Re: PSA: There's A Bug In Splatoon 3 That May Affect Splatfest Results

inenai

I just want them to fix the communication errors... Trying to play with friends is a nightmare, yesterday we spent 30 minutes trying to play a full game, in that period of time we only entered 2 matches, one threw an error soon after it started, the other (to our utmost frustration) as it was about to end. I'm scared of playing the Splatfest under these conditions...

Re: Square Enix Is Now Part Of A Blockchain

I'm not defending proof-of-work, it's a sh*tty model and it's bad to the environment, and NTFs are not really justified 90% of the time, but most of the time people are just hating on the whole blockchain technology without even knowing what they are talking about.

Re: Square Enix Is Now Part Of A Blockchain

inenai

@Faited How is Steam Marketplace an alternative to blockchain technology? Steam owns everything there and could end everything if they wanted to or had to, in a Blockchain, only you are the sole owner of what you own, and no one can affect that unless they have the private key to access it.

Re: Square Enix Is Now Part Of A Blockchain

inenai

@Zebetite Yes, because it is anonymous, exactly the way cash is, so it shares its flaws. But that is not a new problem. Just like the internet is not "good or bad", because it's just a tool, blockchain is also not good or bad, it is just a technology. Good or bad are the people who make use of it.

Re: Square Enix Is Now Part Of A Blockchain

@Mrkittyhead It is a technology that allows secure transactions, but depending on how it is implemented it might impact the environment or not (as in the case of cryptocurrencies that require power to generate). As a technology in itself it is complex and robust, it and enables people to genuinely own something digitally and with proof (both currency and, well, digital stuff). It is what enables the use of secure virtual money without the risk of someone stealing it, faking it, etc.
