Shovel Knight

Since starting out life on Kickstarter, Shovel Knight has always had close ties with Nintendo systems. Nintendo even acknowledged this by adding Yacht Club's popular indie hero to its all-star fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an assist trophy.

This close bond with Nintendo appears to have paid off – with Yacht Club Games' Sean Velasco and David D'Angelo recently revealing Switch game sales account for "25% of total sales on all platforms". As "wild" as the sales currently are on the Switch, the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove collection is still selling "decently" on other platforms.

In July, Yacht Club Games celebrated Shovel Knight's fifth anniversary. In this short time frame, he's made over 25 cameos and has sold more than 2.5 million copies of his game across 12 different platforms. His next outing is in Shovel Knight: King of Cards and Shovel Knight Showdown next week, and is expected to follow this up in Shovel Knight Dig in the near future.
