Nintendo UK has shared a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Nintendo Switch, and wow is it looking pretty.
It's only a short clip - around 30 seconds or so in length - but we get to see a number of different characters and locations, all of which are looking very lovely indeed. We're also treated to an English-language rendition of the Ballad of the Wind Fish, which had previously only been shared in Japanese.
The game's out in just three days' time - although some have seemingly gotten their hands on it early - so we really don't have long to wait before we can explore the wonders of Koholint Island once again. Naturally, we'll make sure to have our full review of the game for you right here on the site in the coming days, so make sure to keep an eye out for that.
Are you grabbing this one on Friday? Already have your pre-order secured? Tell us below.

This game will be fun to play..
Ugh, I keep thinking Thursday is the 20th...
Honestly this is the release of the month for Nintendo and it makes me wonder if that is why it releases before Dragon Quest XI to limit how much it might overshadow it.
Since you know that if the position were reversed, if DQXI released before Link's Awakening it would likely have been forgotten instantly the day Z:LA would have released.
Now it gets a chance to stand since reviews/etc get a chance to remind people DQXI exists by landing after the Zelda shaped dust would be beginning to settle.
Blossom tales sale a month ago, A link to the past via SNES Online, and then Link's Awakening this Friday.
We Zelda fans have been spoiled!
Lets hope theres a day one patch because it runs like crap at the moment, dropping from 60fps to 30fps every few seconds. Particularly bad when you speak to someone or leave a house.
Yay! It looks adorable. This launches one day after my friend's birthday, so I'll be picking up two copies and two amiibo. I was actually hoping to take off Friday, but others in the department need the day more than me. My fun Demony Machines will have to keep me occupied.
Won a bet to a friend were the loser would buy the winner a switch game, definitely this is going to be the one.
Can't wait to have this.
@Ludovsky Huh? What does Dragon Quest have to do with Zelda? Two totally different styles of game.
@RickD I hear the main story mode is practically identical to the original...so like 15 hours or so on average.
I’m so pumped to play this. Link’s Awakening is probably my favorite overall Zelda.
Looks amazing, but they'd have probably done well to hold back on the reverb some. In conjunction with the pitch correction, the singer's voice sounds robotic. This is a Zelda game; not a dance mix.
The original LA is one of my favorite games, and thinking about certain moments of it recreated in this new artsyle and soundtrack is giving me chills. Cannot wait until Friday. Also preordered the adorable Link amiibo to go along with it.
I still need to know more about added content; with what we currently know, this 10 hour game is not worth $60.
Now, if you SURPRISE! unlock both Oracles at the end of this game, then take my money.
Not watching but I can’t believe Friday is finally the day it’ll be here. Always a truly a magical experience for me when a new Zelda game comes out, remake or not, it makes me feel like a little child again... this really has been making this week so exciting. I’ll be very busy with this and untitled goose game this weekend!!!
It looks so lovely. Managed to nab the limited edition.
It will get a 9/10 from this site, calling it now.
Lauded for being a Zelda game with positive updates and visuals. Fun remake that paves the way for other remakes.
Knocked for not having enough new content or being able to share your dungeon designs online. Also not having a consistent 60fps.
Can't wait for this game as I never played the original.I even went ahead and preordered the Amibo..my very first one.It was too cute to ignore..
@Zach777 LOL. I think you nailed it perfectly. It's sad when these types of reviews become predictable, not that I'm complaining, anyway.
I have it preordered but I won't be able to play Friday since I work a 10-hour shift and will be exhausted, and then I'm going camping with my girlfriend all weekend. Oh well, next week I'll play the hell out of this game and have it beaten (hopefully) by the time Dragon Quest XI S comes out.
A shame about the autotune, but the melody is beautiful as always.
@iN5OMANiAC Every few seconds? I've heard it's just the moment you enter a new screen.
@Quarth its very very uneven, and you're entering a new screen every few seconds, or speaking to someone
Looking forward to this, never completed the GB version, though I was a huge fan of it.
Have Links Awakening pre-ordered. However I'm playing The Wind Waker at the moment and want to complete that first.
Its amazing, a little fantasy world to explore it
Am I the only one who's put off by the childish visuals of this game?
@Bydlak YES.
@iN5OMANiAC
When do you enter a new screen every few second?🤨
I managed to get it early. Honestly, it's pretty disappointing. You can't use the d-pad to move, you have to use the analogue stick, yet it's digital, 8-way movement. It feels pretty awful. The blurriness is distracting, they overdid it. It also runs at about 20fps despite looking so basic.
Now to look forward to BotW2.
@Matroska Forced use of the analogue stick in a game with 8-directional movement has to be one of the most Nintendo things I've ever heard of.
Can’t wait. It’s going to be yummy. Limited edition for me
@Matroska Proof? Otherwise you just sound like a troll
Totes adorbs!
@wazlon wind waker is a great game. Completed it on the cube all those years back but got bored of a fetch style quest when replaying the wii u version and put it down. The art style hasn't aged a day and still looks amazing.
Dawn of the first day...
That being said I kinda would like to see MM in this artstyle...I think somehow the cuteness would make that game even more dark and creepy.
@Ludovsky Even in Japan? I dunno. It's been awhile since XI came out and now it's got voices, the other from the western release, and the 3ds version packaged in? Maybe it's the other way wround.
@Panopticon if that was the case, then, yeah, I'd pay 60 for that happily. if it was just the Oracle games I'd probably pay 60, again. Those games were low key dope as hell.
@Zeepzeep I don't think they're lying. Here's a German preview that was critical on Nintendo's decision to lock movement to the analogue stick.

Been playing Zelda games the past couple of months. Link to the Past on Switch, Majora's Mask, the DX version of this.
I’m so excited to play this. More than I thought I’d be considering I play the Gameboy Color version every year starting December and on through Christmas.
I love how Zelda games are as versatile with their tales as they are an outlet for artistic expression.
EDIT: I’m not seeing the chamber making thing as a thing to really look forward to. I’m GLAD they added it, yessir, BUT... how many times am I going to make my OWN dungeon and play my OWN dungeon? Very cool idea, it’s just not something I’m personally going to really turn the game on to do.
I am reading a few things about frame rates on here 😬 ut oh....
I refused to watch just about every video and preview on this game because I want to be shocked on my play through just like I did back in the day. That and the 8-way control is why I’m going in with low-medium to high expectations.
I know I’m going to love it.
@HobbitGamer well now I’m going to be calling it Demony Machines LOL thanks a lot!!
Just bought the digital version off CDKeys for £40.50. Not bad at all.
@BarefootBowser so far havent watch any gameplay of it ever since it was announced to avoid spoilers.
really this game just gets worst everytime l see it
its only good for 8 year olds who don't know how to play zelda games
Ballad of the Wind Fish was and still is one of my favorite video game tunes ever. It's nice to hear lyrics put to it. 😁
But what an awful song in the background
@Panopticon Agreed! Too pricey. I’ll wait. It is a 3DS sized game at the full Switch price.
The Emperor has no clothes.
Can't wait to play it! It's a nice nostalgia to play the way you used to play it. Nice dungeon crawler style, nice twist to the usual current zelda games
@Zeepzeep Here.
I vant! I vant! Snell ples ples look so spunken good 👍👌😁😁
