Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Finally Getting DLC

idork99

@Greatluigi I am sooo opposite of mad. I’m not a fan of tour because of the controls. although there are few exception of games that are great for your phone but mainly I’m not a fan of mobile gaming

Re: Limited Run Games Is Opening Its First Physical Store In Spring

idork99

shoot! I was hoping the store would be located in a big market city (Los Angeles specifically).

anyhow, I’ve been a download only kind of person with my 3DS and Switch. it’s a great feeling to have your entire library at your disposal at anytime. now, I’m thinking of investing more in physical copies for three reasons…I have many family members that now own a Switch so it’s nice to recommend a title and lend it to them, I own two Switches now thanks to the OLED model, and I just ran out of memory on my 400GB micro SD card

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Biggest Gaming Regrets

idork99

I’ve purchased every Nintendo console and portables day one since the GameCube/GBA era. I have many nephews in my family so I’ve given all my systems and games to them once a new Nintendo system would arrive. funny thing is that I’m 50/50 with regretting or no regret. in one hand, I wish I could own these still for the nostalgia factor. on the other, I made my nephews very happy kids back then so nothing to regret there.

Re: Nintendo Shares Its Plans For Black Friday 2021 (US)

idork99

when MKL:HC arrived last year, I was able to scoop both Mario and Luigi. this year, I ended up gifting Luigi as a bday gift for a new Switch owner. at 59.99, I may have to repurchase Luigi as I never got the opportunity to play 2 player Mario Kart Live. I purchased the OLED Switch this year so now I’ll have two Switches to make the 2 player possible

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 6th)

idork99

NL should conduct a poll of how many people actually play the games they say they’re going to play this weekend🤔?

I’ll admit. there’s been a week or two I’ve said I was going to play so and so game this weekend just to never play it.

with that said…I’ll check out my island on AC to see what all the big fuss is about

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Has Now Outsold Mario Kart Wii

idork99

Mario Kart confessions…

I purchased MK8 the first day it came out but did not get into it into it obsessively until months later (I was still in love with MK7 at the time). I continued to play MK8 until April 2017 when MK8D was released. 70000 VR points and four and a half years later and I still continue to play MK8D! I’ve never been a fan of battle, but the addition of the double item and the ultra drift (the blue color spark), are game changing additions that I welcome. it’s the best Mario Kart in the series and no surprise as to why it’s the best selling kart ever! to overtake MK Wii is quite the accomplishment. can’t wait to see what MK9 (or whatever it may be called) brings next!

Re: Nintendo Switch Production Is Reportedly Suffering Due To Chip Shortage

idork99

I see that they’re having trouble in Japan with OLED model demand. is the same here in the US? EU? the day the OLED was announced for pre-order, I dashed to my nearest GameStop to reserve one because of a similar article I read back then saying if you wanted an OLED model that it was best to try and get the first batch as they would be difficult to find right after because of chip shortages. sooo glad I was able to pick one up day one!

Re: Random: Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack' Trailer Is Now Its Most Disliked YouTube Video Ever

idork99

Animal Crossing expansion aside (in which I haven’t played in over a year), I’m enjoying the small N64 library. for Genesis/Mega Drive, there are only a handful of titles I didn’t previously own either through Sega Ages or Genesis collection. I’m also baffled with Konami as they threw in both Castlevania and Contra but wouldn’t give the NES or SNES on line any love.

to conclude, I’m enjoying both libraries and I’ve yet to see any lag issues. still, the price of admission is pretty high

Re: Wow, Nintendo Switch Was First Revealed Five Years Ago Today

idork99

I recall the reveal video! it filled me with excitement! it was like a Wii U GamePad that you could take anywhere without being restricted to having to be near your console.

five years later, I love the Switch! it’s probably become my favorite Nintendo console ever! and I’ve been a fan since 1986!

Re: Poll: Which Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Should You Play First Via Nintendo Switch Online?

idork99

if I do decide to get the Switch on line expansion pack, it’ll be the third copy of both Sonic and Sonic 2 that I’ll own on the Switch (Switch on line expansion, Sega Ages, and Sega Classics).

this would have been enticing three or four years ago. but to pay more than double for Genesis and N64 classics (most of which I own on Switch, 3DS, and Wii/Wii U) is not gravitating me to make the plunge. had it been $10-20 more, than maybe I would consider

Re: Poll: So, Which Switch OLED Did You Buy?

idork99

ended up with white myself

I’ve been a Switch owner since day one in 2017 and I probably play 95% of the time in docked mode. now that I’ve purchased the OLED model, I’ve been playing more in portable because, one, the screen is gorgeous, and two, to justify my purchase

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Metroid Dread On Switch

idork99

thanks for putting up this video NLife. I was extremely lucky this morning to pick up a special edition of this game when I went to grab my OLED I reserved at my local GameStop. I’ve yet to open the box to play because my new Switch has spent the day downloading close to 400GB of games due to system transfer 🤦‍♂️

Re: Nintendo Says It's Continuously Working On Improving The Switch Joy-Con

idork99

as stated in another recent article here regarding the Joy-Cons…if you’re experiencing Joy-Con drift, just sent the controller in for repair to Nintendo.

I had the original pair of Joy-Cons and two other pair that I purchased in 2017. over the years, there was a lot of wear and tear. and just this year, I sent them all for repair and received, almost like new, refurbished Joy-Cons within 48 hours! needless to say that I was a very pleased customer to have fully functioning Joy-Cons
