Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Looking Forward To Playing On Switch OLED?

idork99

I can’t wait to try out each and every game I own tbh.

it’s going to feel like 2003 all over again; the year I purchased the GBA SP model and was in awe with the lit screen (never owned the AGS-101 model which was brighter than the original AGS-001).

the first game I tried then…Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. it was a mind blowing game as a day one release title for the GBA and more so with the lighting of the SP! I’m sure my mind will be blown as equally next month as it did in March ‘03!

Re: The Hori Flex Assistive Controller For Switch Is Now Available In The US

idork99

I think it’s awesome that companies like Hori and Microsoft are making these types of controllers. as for the price, it is expensive for the average gamer. but these controllers are not for the average gamer. these are special controllers for the gamer that needs assistance. I’m sure if they were more in demand then pricing would go down. but for now, it’s nice to know that there are controller options for all gamers.

Re: Konami's Castlevania: Grimoire Of Souls Rises From The Dead

idork99

I bet this game will be good on iOS and I know Apple Arcade is doing great business with such affordable pricing…but…I cannot stand to play games on my mobile device. physical controls are far superior than touch screen input IMO. sure I can connect a PS or XBOX controller via Bluetooth but I’m not going to carry a controller to play a mobile game.

Re: Review: Axiom Verge 2 - A Fantastic Follow-Up To A Classic Metroidvania

idork99

sadly, I’ll have to pass…

I purchased the original on Wii U but never finished the game. as an older gamer, (who knows the original Metroid for the NES like the back of his hand) I find it difficult to get into these types of games nowadays as they can take up a lot of time. I’m sure this game will do great but it’s just not for me.

but be sure I will be purchasing Metroid 5 when it releases as I’m emotionally attached to the series and have completed Metroid one through four

Re: Tetris Effect: Connected Is Dropping Onto Nintendo Switch Soon

idork99

since I’m the kind of person that exclusively lives a “Nintendo life,” I never knew of the existence of this version of Tetris until today.

coincidentally, I recently started playing more Tetris 99 and was about to purchase the DLC content in that game. with today’s announcement, I’ll hold off on the DLC and wait for this version instead. can’t wait!

Re: The "Foam Pads" In The Zelda Joy-Con Controllers Aren't New

idork99

speaking of Joy-Cons, I have GREAT NEWS!

I have three pairs that I’ve owned since 2017 but would have them collecting dust since I always use my Pro Controller with the Switch connected to the TV. over the years, I did notice drift on some, some buttons not working on others and so on. oh, and I’ve also managed to drop one and spill drinks on others. to sum it up, I’ve been careless with these controllers to the point that I only had two out of six Joy-Cons functioning. I procrastinated for years to send them in because I had a fear I would rightfully be charged.

as a result, I decided to send the four broken Joy-Cons to Nintendo with hopes of not being charged an arm and a leg. I sent them on Monday, and to my surprise, they arrived back today! according to the invoice, they had to replace parts on three of them and they replaced one…AT NO CHARGE!!!

the Joy-Con drift may still exist regardless, but I am super happy with Nintendo for their repair services!

here’s to Joy-Con drift being a thing of the past 🤞🏼

Re: Random: Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit Doubles Up As The Perfect DIY Companion

idork99

good thing they tied a rope to the kart. tbh the distance to get good reception is very short so don’t know how far it could’ve traveled before losing it. also, all the debris down there is not exactly a friendly path for the kart as it can easily get stuck…

all this article has done is inspire me to make another track at home this weekend.

Re: Random: That Zelda: Skyward Sword Bamboo-Slicing Minigame Is Easy Now

idork99

I purchased the original digital version of Skyward Sword on the Wii U eShop a couple of years ago since I skipped out on it when it first came out. my problem is that I’ve yet to play the game. and now that the HD version is on the Switch, I’m almost tempted to buy it impulsively without having played the original.

my question now is if I should purchase the HD remake on the Switch or should I play the standard original on my Wii U?

Re: Video: Do Faster Micro SD Cards Actually Improve Load Times On Switch?

idork99

I’ve had the “SANNEW” card since early 2018 and it’s been perfect for me and all the games I have stored: the right amount of memory. it’s nice to know that it was the fastest performer in this video comparison.

I paid a little over a $100 back in early 2018 for the 400GB card but I’m sure you can find a much better deal nowadays.

Re: Nintendo Still Isn't Totally Confident Switch Production Can Keep Pace With Demand

idork99

I’ve had my Switch since midnight of 3/3/2017 so I’ve never had an issue. my friends, on the other hand, have had issues since they decided to buy one early last year. they haven’t searched for one aggressively, mind you, but they do look for it when they go to their local Target out here in the US with no luck every time they go. if demand stays up and Nintendo doesn’t fall into problems with shortages of parts, I can see the Switch becoming Nintendo’s best selling system ever!

edit: it’ll become the second best selling Nintendo system. I never knew how popular the original DS was. it sold over 150 million units! that’s insane!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo 3DS Features That Should Really Be On Switch

idork99

I do miss carrying around my 3DS to see if any StreetPass contacts occurred. but it’s obvious that this wouldn’t come to the Switch. the 3DS was strictly portable and was meant to carry around. and although the Switch can be played as a portable, it’s not a system that can be placed in your pocket.

speaking of StreetPass...if it weren’t for NintendoLife, I would’ve never have known about the StreetPass community in the San Diego California area! great times there! thank you NintendoLife!
