Re: Ubisoft's CEO Shares Views On Partnership With Nintendo And State Of The Video Game Industry

The portability of the system is a big selling factor and it's been proven with ports such as Doom and Skyrim that the audience will even double dip on games cause of that. Also, it may not be as powerful as the others but with certain sacrifices, ports of demanding games are possible. Software sales are very healthy on the system, it is owned from adult gamers as well as younger ones and those people spend money. Games like AC, Splinter Cell and Far Cry would sell, I am sure!

Didn't touch it on PC waiting for its Switch release. I avoided spoiling it with YouTube videos and such and played not knowing what the game is all about. It was a gaming revelation, similar to my first time I played Dark Souls!

Re: Soapbox: Monster Hunter World Has Claimed Its Prize, But Capcom Shouldn't Forget Nintendo

There are more than 3 million Switch consoles in Japan alone. By the time a new Monster Hunter could hit the system, that number will be huge. We all know how much Japan loves portables and this series. A new Monster Hunter by 2020 for the Switch could easily sell upwards of 5 million on this platform alone. I wonder if Capcom can comprehend this and how much they love money.

I have said it before, but there are many cases that prove just how different the Switch demographic is from the Wii U era. It is the hybrid nature of the console of course that makes people want to experience many games on the go, even if double dipping, but it is mainly an adult console. And those adults spend money. This makes me very optimistic of what's to come!

Re: Soapbox: Dark Souls’ Ruthless Recipe Perfectly Suits Switch’s Evolving Audience

I think that it will sell good on Switch. There is clearly a demand for ports of older games on a Nintendo platform, either cause Nintendo only gamers might have never played them, or for the portability factor. It will be really cool playing Dark Souls on the go, just like it is with Skyrim, Doom, Rocket League and many others. I will be double dipping no question!
