Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 2016?

garthvader

While I thought Zelda was stellar, and Severed was great. Tokyo Mirage Sessions deserves a shout out also, I was overall disappointment with Nintendo for lack of things shown. Pokemon looks nice and I think the mobil transition is neat but why can't they make a console Pokemon. The game would make money!! I do not understand why they are still so stubborn. Why can they not take in new ideas such as make a machine 3rd parties will work on easily and then apply the Nintendo magic to it. I loved the Wii U but it was outdated like the Wii by the time it came out, thus pushing away 3rd parties. They say we do not care about terflops we care about experiences and that is OK. But why can't they include the terraflops anyway and then focus on great experiences. It boggles my mind. In a world where families buy the new iPhone for every member of their family every year, I don't think people are afraid to buy a 400-500$ device that will last them 5-6 years. Make it more expensive with new tech so that it will be successful Nintendo and then add your magic to the system.

I wanted to add that I did love what they are doing with Treehouse. It is nice to see the games played extensively.

Why do they have such crappy sales in the US eShop? There has literally been nothing on sale I have wanted for months. EU eShop gets awesome sales AND has better Nintendo Selects. I have been waiting for them to add Lego Undercover in the US forever. What gives Nintendo? Treat your largest market like you actually WANT them to buy your games...

Re: Poll: The Wii U GamePad - Where Do You Stand on Nintendo's Hefty Controller?

@rjejr Well yes I know this, but they were acquired by Nintendo. Monolith did not come from Nintendo. My first experience with Monolith was in with Xenogears on PS1 which was not Monolith Soft at the time but eventually members moved on to start Monolith Soft. They have always been amazing developers. And they continue to be one of Nintendos greatest assets. I wish Nintendo would take a hint from them because they are some of the more creative developers and they seem to understand how to make games that most of the hardcore crowd who moved on to ps4 and xboxone would want.

Xenoblade had by far some of the best usage. I think the poll results are largely based on bias of what people play. It's unfortunate because people are unwilling to buy games that are not Nintendo and some of those non Nintendo games had THE BEST gamepad utilization. Case in point: Xenoblade, Deus Ex, and Monster Hunter 3. These games were excellent and Nintendo should take a hint on how to use the gamepad from companies such as Monolith. The only suggestion I would make to monolith is have the equip menu navigable on the gamepad also, and maybe during fights have the skill panel available there in addition to by button presses.

Even Gamespot gave this good scores (8.0/10) and they HATE Nintendo games. So if Gamespot gave an 8, it must be a 9.0. Great review, very thorough and exactly what other reviews lack nowadays. I enjoyed reading about the depth and details of the game as well as the legitimate pros and cons.

@vitalemrecords I would argue that it was our criticism and pessimism that forced them to delay and rework the game. Being critical is not a bad thing so don't underplay it's importance. If we just accepted it for what it was I can guarantee Nintendo would have released it in that state. Maybe now they will rework the visuals even more for April. I can wait for that. I have plenty of other games and no time.

Re: Analysts Wonder If Super Mario Can Save Nintendo

Nintendo wants to sell Wii U's? They should have dropped the price when they saw things going south. Just like it worked with 3DS it would work with Wii U. $200 would have them flying out the door, $250 would help. They should have re-branded the system with a different name also. So many mistakes for such a great system.

There is a whole separate multi player part of the game. It is not the story portion per se but there is a significant portion of the game which is a whole mission structure designed solely for multi player. There are also missions that you can join at random which pair you with randoms and you can choose to meet up and complete an assignment. I wish the story was available to pair up with but maybe next part of the series. I am so damn hyped right now.,

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Dated, Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water to Have Free and Limited Edition Versions

@FragRed For being a first in a new IP and having low scores I know it sold over 1 million pretty early off. I don't know how well it's sales sustained but I did see it in the top 10 best sellers on Amazon yesterday which says to me it must still be selling. Sony may have put that studio together just for that game. I don't really know the facts on that. 1 Million does not sound like a lot, but I assume it will have lifetime sales of over 2 mil probably, and for a badly made and received game that is a new IP it is certainly not bad.

@Octane It's just their half assed un-confident attitude about most of these games is half the reason they don't sell. If they put some back bone behind it and advertised for them like Sony and Microsoft do, they could sell a piece of poo in a gum wrapper like Sony and Microsoft do. Sony sold the crap out of The Order and it was an assey game. Surely Nintendo could do the same with this.
