Re: Video: Mario is Unreal in This New Take on The Plumber's Adventures

I would be more impressed if they took those tools and actually replicated the mario castle rather than generic castle 1, or generic cave one, or generic snowy mountain with gargoyle candle statue 2. It does show promise though let's see it NX!

Also forgot to mention, there was no interaction between mario and the environment. With the puddles in the cave, he would run, stomp and jump and there was not even a ripple in the water. The reflection was nice but no distortion resulting from stepping in the puddles.

Re: Monolith Soft Open To Helping Get Zelda Wii U Ready For Launch

@Heiki true true but I am going to guess Zelda will get a summer release hopefully on Wii U. That's my currnet prediction so far, the game did not look early last time we saw it. It looked rather good and the systems seemed solidly in place. I imagine they are adding more stuff to the world, creatures and things.

@blackice85 From what I have read about and seen on playthroughs the Skells pretty much open up the whole world to the player. You can buy fuel tanks to take with you and replenish fuel supply and from what I have seen the fuel can last a decent amount. The ability to keep fuel reserves with you is great. You also have a fast travel option on the gamepad which allows you to instantly travel to areas you have been to. This further allows you to reserve fuel because you can combine skell usage with fast travel to make it very efficient. Monolith seems to have learned a lot from the previous Xenoblade Chronicles.

Re: Nintendo Says That Star Fox Zero's Gyro Controls Can Be Turned Off

@heyzeus002 Well my main complaint is that people are writing it off before they try it. I grew up playing the original star fox so I am VERY familiar with the tradition controls. I played StarFox, StarFox 64, StarFox Assault, Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Command and Star Fox 64 3D. I like the idea of aiming with the gamepad because I have mastered the crap out of traditional starfox controls and this will add another layer. I think after a week of playing the game people that opted for the new meathod will like it, as long as the new method is well done. Watching people play the game on E3 and saying it looks uncomfortable is a little nuts because half the editors at E3 can barely play traditional controls. It's painful to watch them demo a game, like watching a 3 year old race mario kart 8 lol. Seriously I have never seen so much struggle rith right analog camera as I do at E3.

Re: Nintendo Says That Star Fox Zero's Gyro Controls Can Be Turned Off

It's nice they offer the option as they should but people should try the game AS INTENDED first. People tend to just complain about something if it's a little different because they can't stand change. Thus the Playstation and Xbox essentially having the same controller since PS2....
Learning is a part of life, if you never learn to do something different then you stagnate. Like Splatoon people complained at first but those that adjusted now have superior aiming.

Re: The Current State Of Virtual Reality Just Isn't Fun, Says Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime

@shaneoh Yea you are right about that. I have played occulus a little bit because my friend develops games on it. He works for the defense industry making tank, helo, and jet simulators so he has a lot of dev. experience. I played a few things he made for occulus and it was cool but I didn't feel full immersion. Promising though but not perfect and I can see where input will be an issue.

@theberrage So true... I mean we ask for Animal Crossing and get Animal MArio Party??? We just had a MArio Party release so why do we need 2 in 1 year? Metroid on the other hand actually looks fun, it's just not the metroid people wanted and the art style s deplorable. Otherwise it looks kinda neat. Mario Tennis instead of Mario Galaxy?? ugh... Don't even get me started.

Re: First Impressions: Our Maiden Flight In Star Fox Zero Prompts Mixed Emotions

I don't mind the control scheme at all, they should offern an alternative however for those that do. The graphics are a BIG sticking point for me. Star Fox should look next gen like Zelda, mario Kart 8 , Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, and MArio 3D World do. And it just does not. It looks like they took Assets from Earlier games and slapped higher Quality texture on them with a few effects and barely increased the Geometry. It's better but not much better.

Re: Iwata Vows To Listen To E3 2015 Digital Event Feedback And "Work To Better Meet Your Expectations"

garthvader

IT was quite bad. I have watched every E3 and this is one of the worst conferences. It wasn't the slowness of the presentation as much as every game announced was Either a mini-game style game: tennis, animal party, etc; or we already knew about it. Starfox looks promising but they really skimped on the graphics a lot. When you look at MArio 3d World and Zelda then you look at Star Fox there is no comparison. Finally They ignored all fans asking for Metroid and F-zero and they ignored all the good looking 3rd party games coming this year...
