Multi actually looks fun in Devils Third. It also looks like it runs at a very consistent frame rate. Maybe this game will be decent. What I hope is they do a day one patch in the US release addressing the concerns of the recent preview. I think the single and multiplayer run at different frame rates because I assume they scale down effects in the multi player modes. Though regardless of detail, wii u SHOULD run this game above 60fps. It is obviously been through development hell and could use some more native code and optimizations. Hopefully patch incoming for all versions.
@Quorthon That is exactly what happened straight from Ian Bell's mouth. I read those exact words on the Project Cars forums. Too bad they could not scale back the physics model they bloated for PC, PS4, XONE versions for the Wii U version. I assume it was possible but they just weren't willing to backtrack that far.
Stupid that people are petitioning this. The SD style does need a change though. It's ugly as heck and looks like an NDS game. stretch them vertically ugh...
@Tao Even in MMOs people use vent I would think the game pad would be better for this game due to the integrated voice communication but he was probably too lazy to implement that. Again the only thing wrong with the gamepad is the lower shoulder trigger placement. They should either be close to the upper shoulder buttons or way further down, not in the middle.
What the heck does the distance of the analog pads have anything to do with anything? My right thumb stays on the right and left thumb on the left. Never ever does my left thumb travel to the right side, so why should it matter. Weight? I have ever gotten tired from holding the game pads weight. Go lift some weights lol. The only criticism I have for the game pad is the odd shoulder button placement. That I can see being annoying. Pointer fingers should use the top shoulders and the low shoulders should be lower so the finger curling around can press them.
@SneakyStyle Um have you seen or played Bayonetta 2? this is not the Wii U, it's bad programming.
On another note, the clipping and explosions bothers me the most. The explosions are ps2ish. The framerate while not great is not as bad as they make it out in the article. Its playable. I cant tell about the controls till i play it because people complained about W101 which to me controlled very well. This needs tweaking for sure.
@ReallyFeelingIt We don't know if it's a bad game yet. It may be really fun. It looked fun to me and the multi player looks great. Yes the graphics are dated but they don't look bad in the single player campaign just a little old.
@ReallyFeelingIt Actually to show with your wallet is the only way a company will see things the way you want them to. Buy Devils Third instead of Mario Party 21,000,000 W U 2 LUV U Edition and maybe they will see that a mature game sells and be more inclined to back them. Don't buy these half games that they give us instead of high quality full Nintendo games and they will stop making them. Makes perfect sense.
@VeeFlamesNL Well it is listed differently at IGN so maybe it was joint development? I just made that point because if they are dismissing Devils Third for quality in NA, firstly, it is inconsistent with other territories and , secondly, it is probably better than those games I have listed though I cannot speak for sure. Now if they have production issues, they could throw it on the eShop instead of physical distribution. If marketing is the problem, then I sorta get it but still their treatment of possible developers that could be allies later is why they don't have good 3rd party relations.
@VeeFlamesNL I simply used IGN because they have been around for that long and they have decent (though I don't always agree with them) reviews.I said there were a lot more. I was just starting at the bottom. And you are wrong about Sochi. Copied straight from the developer info on the review:
Genre: Sports
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
I can get more if you want me to but as I said Nintendo HAS made many subpar games. There is proof of this. I don't hate Nintendo, they just are not immune to making bad games because everyone does.
Lets add some more: Pokeman Box Ruby and Saffire 5/10, MArio Party 8 - 5.2/10, Kirby Air ride - 5.8/10 HALLabritories, WiiPlay 5.5/10, Yoshi's Story 6/10,
@Aromaiden I still have not seen any official proof, and the game was supposed to be rough a year or 2 ago but It seems like it received some polish from the last trailer shown. A few multiplayer modes look goofy but over all it didn't look bad. I would like to see the source if this was recent. If you have it
@VeeFlamesNL MArio Party 10 - 6.5/10, MArio vs. Donkey Kong Tipping stars - 6.8/10, Wii Play Motion - 4/10, Fling Smash - 4/10, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic -4.5/10, Pokemon Channel - 5/10. I can keep going really. There are plenty... These are reviews from IGN who I think has the fairest reviews over a long period of time and they have been there since N64 so you can view the whole catalog.
@VeeFlamesNL Why would I say Federation Force. I have said numerous times it actually looks fun and I just hate the graphical style. Do you want me to link to all the Nintendo made games that were reviewed lowish... remember I would call anything below a 7 not great and there have been games below a 7.
@Peach64 MAny MArio party games get 6/10 reviews and Kirby's Rainbow was not highly rated either. Captain Toad got luke warm reviews. Yoshi's Whooley World was reviewed as a 6-7 at many places (though I would probably review it higher). If they had Xseed do it in all territories I would get it but they did not do that. It makes no sense since EU to NA there is very little localizing to do. PEople talk about the low quality of this game but I have not heard anyone who has actually played it to give solid evidence that it is not good. It is produced by a talented studio. Regardless of the graphics it maybe be a solid playing action game that looks a little dated. Not one editorial site has shown me a hands-on of this proving all the assumptions that the game is bad. All the assumptions have been based on how old the graphics look. Otherwise the gameplay actually looks fun.
@Mus1cLov3r I get your point but if they are preaching quality on this game not being released in the US, I think they are being hypocritical because they have released many games of questionable quality. I am not talking sales because we all know sales does not = quality. Also the localisation cost should be minimal as they just need to bring the European voice over like Xenoblade.
@Jay1984 Did you play God of War or Devil May Cry games? And yea the demo doesn't give much of a sense for how the game is, just the basic fighting mechanic but barely. You really gotta play the game in it's full form to appreciate it, most people who have played it will agree with that I think. It also doesn't hurt that it packs in the first game so you get 2 games for the price of one. There is a lot more to the game and it has some of the best most responsive control in the genre.
@Mus1cLov3r Because they put little or no effort into making the new releases something special. Mini-game or not they could do something good, solid and new with every iteration, but they do not. For instance, Mario Galaxy compared to Mario Sunshine, both games in a single series, both entirely different and both of them were good games. What about making Mario Party online and local??? they could have a GREAT game with online matches...I mean they are just stuck in their ways. I have played their games since NES and I will not defend their bad decisions anymore.
@Jay1984 You mean you didn't like the demo or just didn't play it? The game is excellent if you like the God of War series action but with a twist of humor and what I call "female James Bond cockiness". I quite honestly think the combat is much better than all of the God of War games when you get down to the subtleties of it and especially after you unlock all the moves and weapons. It's certainly worth a purchase. The story, scripting, and cut scenes are absolutely amazing. The 1st level blew me away and remains the single most impressive graphical achievement on the Wii U in my opinion. The rest of the game looks amazing as well but that 1st impression was unforgettable for me.
@Jay1984 BAyonetta 2 had no sex per say however much of the humor was sexual and there is partial nudity because her weapon is her hair and her clothes are her hair. You see where this is going. Either way it was a ridiculously good game, and who cares if there is sex and violence, sure it's not for kiddos but there are plenty of grown ups to love the game. I sure did. I bet Devils Third is not nearly as foul as some of Bayonetta...just bloody probably.
Well there goes my respect for NoA. Completely gone. Anysigns of Nintendo actually listening to consumers have just been flushed down the toilet. Thank you XSeed for being there to pick up what Nintendo has repeatedly failed to do. I will buy the gamer even if it's a turd just to slap Nintendo in the face. They are concerned about quality yet they are releasing crappy mario party games for years. They just rehash it when they could actually make something good and fun with Mario Party and now they will put that poopy thumb print on Animal Crossing. They will release nothing but rubbish for the continuation of Wii U's life cycle (with exception of Zelda). Mario Tennis looks like a fun diversion but it is just a distraction. I am glad Splatoon was a success at least because it will be the final one. It is a sad state of affairs for Nintendo right now.
@Aromaiden They are trying to be too traditionalist in their philosophy with westerners and it just doesn't work. They should let NOA release everything that they can realistically release because NA is the largest audience and that audience wants variety. It will not hurt NoJ for sure . They are just too controlling. Microsoft has made great changes to their leadership as has Sony. Both are listening to consumers and Nintendo is still in the we will release what we want to and you have no say as a consumer mentality. It's like we the consumer are the wife in a traditional marriage and they are dictating everything we want and we must obediently accept it. Welp we are the ones with the wallets Nintendo and the consumer has spoken buy buying another brand than yours by a LONGSHOT. The consumer wants 3rd party support, they want Nintendo games and mature games, they want variety. And While I don't totally understand the PS4 phenomenon as it still has very few good games out, but it does have a slew of great ones coming, many of which I want and eventually will buy a PS4 for. Nintendo grabbed me with Xenoblade, they released a bunch of great games in year 2 and some great ones so far, but now it is all downhill. Everything promised is being cancelled or handed off and NX is the new thing.
@Gorlokk I hope they offer Wii U owners a discount on NX but fat chance at that. It would be the right thing to do.
@Aromaiden Well Devil's Third is being released in the EU though so it is a finished product, if it releases in the EU there is NO reason to not bring it to the US at least digitally. The language is the same so they need to give it to us and let us decide if we want it. I bet it would sell here. AC:Unity did and it was a steaming pile of trash.
@Aromaiden Yes but with Nintendo, these outlandish rumors are more than often true. When you hear silence from Nintendo about something it is often as good as a confirmation. I have bought this companies consoles since the beginning and it's just how they work. But I would say my biggest gripe is really how they treat people that make games for their system. Games like Devil's Third and Project Hammer were nearly complete, so just release them if they are that close and let the public decide. They have no clue what we want anyway so just give us variety.
They sound worse every time they open their mouths lately. No American Devil's Third (good or bad let sales speak you blind executives), No metroid for Wii U, No focus on power for NX (This ensures no 3rd parties, maybe they want it that way considering how they treat other development studios), Still no NA release date for Fatal Frame, no full Wii U Animal Crossing... I love this company but it's leadership sucks right now. Bad decisions upon bad decisions and an increased affinity for NOT listening to consumers and what they want and trying to dictate to us what we want. We DON't want it!
@IceClimbers What makes me mad is they should just give people the option of buying it themselves. People buy terrible AC games and sub par games on PS4/PS3 and they make money. Well maybe the game s not up to Nintendo standards but it may fill a gap for some people and they should give them the option to decide to buy it or not. Not every Nintendo game HAS to be 8.0+ They need mature titles, this is mature with multiplayer...
Seriously Nintendo what the heck is wrong with you? Do you WANT to alienate your biggest market because you are getting pretty damn close to it. I will sign a petition to get this game stateside and buy it even if it sucks just to show you how crappy your decisions are in general Nintendo.
But do they mean for Wii U or in the Arcades? Arcades are empty in the US now so it would do better on a console either NX (if it is powerful enough, we will see if it even matches the Wii U, because somehow I am skeptical after the "power" statement), or Wii U.
Who are the idiots that put the world is too small and not enough content. I don't think anyone in their right mind could honestly post that answer without trolling intentions. Sure put you want more places to go or maybe more types or varied quests or more story but too little and too small?
@Quorthon I am no fanboy, I play on Sony and on my PC quite often and I LOVE the gamepad, so be careful labeling people according to your own ASSUMPTION. The gamepad was a terrific idea and honestly is more touch sensitive than my iPad 4. The only pitfall is that it lacks multitouch. Other than that, it has made gaming better in general. This coming from a pretty heavy PC gaming with a powerful gaming PC. Just because someone likes something, it does not mean they are a fanboy.
@BinaryFragger Nintendo's Wii U launch line up was not that bad except it was missing a legit Mario. What they didn't learn from 3DS is that somehow dropping the price sells stagnant systems. Geez Nintendo you would think I am a marketing genius to notice this but I'm pretty sure this is common knowledge that Nintendo somehow missed the boat on.
Iwata: You do realize half the reason the 3DS took off is that you DROPPED THE DAMN PRICE. That is what you DIDN'T do with the Wii U therefore it did not sell. When you saw stagnant sales you should have dropped the price and offered 2-3 free games for early buyers who bought at the full price. I bet Wii U would have gained a lot of momentum then. Sometimes I think Iwata is market blind...
@ikki5 Yea what the heck happened to Golden Sun 2? Didn't it come out in other territories on VC? I want to play it badly, it would be a day 1 purchase for me.

LOL they should look at the stats of those that play MMOs.
Re: Japanese Devil's Third Site Details Online Modes, Microtransactions And File Size
@Luna_110 There is no single player in the PC version. Wii U version is the complete game and I think will probably have less pay content in it.
Re: Japanese Devil's Third Site Details Online Modes, Microtransactions And File Size
the frame rate looks better in those videos.

In other news, why the heck is there no vaulting option to boost over cover. This seems elementary in 3rd person shooters today.
Re: First Impressions: Trying to Believe in Devil's Third
@Nintend0ro this has nothing to do with wii u's power. Let me point you to Bayonetta 2:
BTW all real time

I do agree they need to boost specs though. But that is not the reason for this.
Re: First Impressions: Trying to Believe in Devil's Third
@KillScottKill Ninja Gaiden 3 on the wii u version was decent at least. They improved it a lot over the ps3 360 game. It was better than this looks.
Re: First Impressions: Trying to Believe in Devil's Third
@SneakyStyle Um have you seen or played Bayonetta 2? this is not the Wii U, it's bad programming.
On another note, the clipping and explosions bothers me the most. The explosions are ps2ish. The framerate while not great is not as bad as they make it out in the article. Its playable. I cant tell about the controls till i play it because people complained about W101 which to me controlled very well.
This needs tweaking for sure.

Well maybe the game s not up to Nintendo standards but it may fill a gap for some people and they should give them the option to decide to buy it or not. Not every Nintendo game HAS to be 8.0+ They need mature titles, this is mature with multiplayer...
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Isn't Bringing Devil's Third To North America
Seriously Nintendo what the heck is wrong with you? Do you WANT to alienate your biggest market because you are getting pretty damn close to it. I will sign a petition to get this game stateside and buy it even if it sucks just to show you how crappy your decisions are in general Nintendo.
Re: Pokkén Tournament Is Being Considered For A Release In The West
But do they mean for Wii U or in the Arcades? Arcades are empty in the US now so it would do better on a console either NX (if it is powerful enough, we will see if it even matches the Wii U, because somehow I am skeptical after the "power" statement), or Wii U.

Re: Japanese Gamers Share Their Views on Xenoblade Chronicles X
Who are the idiots that put the world is too small and not enough content. I don't think anyone in their right mind could honestly post that answer without trolling intentions. Sure put you want more places to go or maybe more types or varied quests or more story but too little and too small?
Re: Star Fox Zero's Co-Op Mode to Offer Accessibility, and the Arwing's Robot Transformation "Is Not a Chicken"
It's a chicken!
Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4
Then It isn't worth my Money. I already bought the Wii U so my next move is a PS4 not NX unless NX is faster and produces superior graphics.
Re: Talking Point: The Pros, Cons and Questionable Likelihood of a Nintendo NX Release in Summer 2016
Re: Nintendo NX Will Avoid The Launch Issues Which Plagued 3DS And Wii U, Claims Iwata
Re: Nintendo NX Will Avoid The Launch Issues Which Plagued 3DS And Wii U, Claims Iwata
Iwata:
You do realize half the reason the 3DS took off is that you DROPPED THE DAMN PRICE.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd July (North America)
@ikki5 Yea what the heck happened to Golden Sun 2? Didn't it come out in other territories on VC? I want to play it badly, it would be a day 1 purchase for me.
