For those of you that live in North America, you may remember that Olympia Rising released in Europe a couple months ago. The retro 2D action platformer calls Kid Icarus to mind with its greek mythology inspired themes and its colorful visuals. We rather liked it in our review, praising the story and visuals, but criticising some creaky gameplay. At the time, it wasn't yet known when the game would be made available to North American fans, but that's fortunately been cleared up now.
PlayEveryWare recently revealed that the game will be landing on the Wii U eShop in the region on 9th June. No price has been given yet, but it's nice to see that North Americans can soon join in the fun.
What do you think? Will you be picking this up? Europeans, what did you think of it? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Wow, this looks awesome! The setting is awesome and man does this give off some major nostalgic feeling. Darn shame it's not on the 3DS though, it seems like that kind of game that you would find on a handheld console.
Looks pretty cool.
Looks great but I am really turned off by chip tunes. I wish they would record good samples and keep the visual style the same.
looks like a great game.also i like the greek mythology theme.they have some clever and dramatic stories.and it all begins with khaos:)
Game looks great. Music style could be improved, sounds like its coming out of a gen one Atari system. I'd be willing to mute it to play, the jumping mechanic appears to be pretty fun.
YESSS! Great news, I have been waiting for this title.
Looks good! I love the freedom of movement.
This looks absolutely fantastic. Being a huge Greek mythology buff definitely helps!
I also noted some similarities in NL's review to the one for Chronicles of Teddy, which I though was grossly underrated by the site, so that makes it even more of a day-one buy for me.
Looks like what Uprising would've been had it gone the 2d route. I'm happy with the way it turned out though.
As for this, looks very good and I often don't play with sound anyways. Looks like I'll need to find the time to play this at some point.
yep bring it on sucka
Looks great but what's with the hate for chip tune music? I think the music works perfectly with the visuals, in fact, a more modern score probably would ruin it for me.
Wow, this game really nails the whole 16-bit appeal. You could easily mistake this game for a SNES classic
let's go already.
