PAX Prime is now in its last day, with announcements out of the way and booths setting up for the final group of attendees. Nintendo's been particularly active this year, using the US event to make some notable announcements and to show off attractive releases.
It's now released video of its main events for everyone to enjoy. First up is the Xenoblade Chronicles X panel, in which members of the localisation team go into detail on the game, even showing off early concept images.
There's also the Nindies@Night event, which showcased major download games and included the official announcement of the Shovel Knight amiibo.
It's pleasing that Nintendo went all out with PAX. Were you impressed with its efforts?

Be it as it may. If Europe doesn't get that awesome stuff as well, then I just order the US version and then in Europe I order the DLC.
So we know if this game will be multiplayer?
@Tendogamerxxx From what I heard and read, the only multiplayer component is that once in a while you can party up and go against a specially spawned boss. The majority of the game play is single player only.
@Hy8ogen What a bummer. I was really hoping you could roam around the map with with some friends and play the story. Oh well, theres always a glimmer of hope with NX. Hopefully we will get better hardware and internet infrastructure that will support such options.
There is a whole separate multi player part of the game. It is not the story portion per se but there is a significant portion of the game which is a whole mission structure designed solely for multi player. There are also missions that you can join at random which pair you with randoms and you can choose to meet up and complete an assignment. I wish the story was available to pair up with but maybe next part of the series. I am so damn hyped right now.,
@Tendogamerxxx I don't think the lack of story multiplayer is due to the Wii U's hardware, it's more of a design done by the devs. The Wii U is completely capable of such online capacity. The best example would be Monster Hunter Frontier, which is a mmorpg released only in Japan.
The devs wants the player to be "loosely connected". You should look it up, it's pretty neat. Also, going full blown online would really hinder a story driven game such as Xenoblade.
So we are all in agreement that the Shovel Knight amibbo is in fact a real thing despite Yacht Club Games past protests to the contray?
OK, just checking.
I don't want to see anything else about XCX and ruin the surprise.
@rjejr "I don't want to see anything else about XCX and ruin the surprise."
I'm with you there, don't want to spoil anything for myself.
@IronMan28 @rjejr Me too. I will gladly watch this later after I have a few hours under my belt. Dagnabbit..I want this game NOOOOOOW!!
@rjejr They denied its existence because it wasn't supposed to be announced at the time.
I was hyped for this then I was told no voice chat! Now I'm not interested
@Lord You don't need voice chat, like for no reason whatsoever. The online consists of random stuff you have to do (in your game). I 'join' the online AFAIK that'll just bring up a list of things my lobby has to do (in their own game by themselves), if we finish all the tasks then we get split into groups of fours and then fight some overd, which is usually easy enough to do solo. (I could be wrong but this is what I remember seeing from the streams- or something similar to this). This is supposed to be a loosely-connected online, not GTA-style online.
@Monado_III oh I thought it would be like mh3 where you work together to take down creatures and progress
@GrailUK @IronMan28 I was actually hesitant on getting the 100 page book in the special edition b/c I din't want to see anything in the book before the game, and I know I'll look at it beforehand, who wants to wait 100+ game hours to look at a book? I have 2 kids, Wii U time is hard to come by, and it will be near impossible for Christmas break. I'm saving the special edition as a Christmas gift to me from my wife.
@Lord There is still a text chat feature with full USB Keyboard support
