Re: Where To Buy The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom On Switch

eaglebob345

I snagged the last special edition at my Gamestop at the midnight release. Lucky me and an excellent game so far. I found a few shrines that couldn't be completed without the paraglider, much to my chagrin, and I found a really awesome bonus at the horse stable. More Breath of the Wild would have been great, but the new stuff so far is exceptional.

Re: Nintendo Wants Discord To Reveal Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Art Book Leaker

What I said is far from vulgar or inappropriate to me, but rules are rules. I'm not going to argue with it. 🤷🏽‍♂️

My original draft said being sued into oblivion is the fate that leakers, hackers, and pirates deserve, which I'm hoping doesn't also rustle anyone's jimmies. Regardless, the rest of my comment still stands. I hope they can keep the game under wraps as long as possible leading up to release. I hate that people keep hacking, pirating, and leaking big games before they launch. They deserve lawsuits on top of lawsuits for that behavior.

@WaffleRaptor01 Obviously it's a joke. I wouldn't snap anyone out of existence, I'm not a big purple alien with dubious (stupid) ideals. Speaking of, I'm guessing Thanos would be banned from this comment section. 😳

Re: Soapbox: Can We Stop Pretending Switch Can't Run Call Of Duty?

I for sure thought thought the title of this article was "Can We Stop Pretending Switch Can't Ruin Call Of Duty?". I was getting my pitchfork and torch ready. 😅 The Switch can definitely run CoD. Capable developers can get anything to run on the Switch, within reason. That's why we saw Doom, Doom Eternal, Nier: Automata, etc. A lot of these companies are either incapable or unwilling to put the work in, but it can be done.

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo's Next Console Have To Be 'Another' Switch?

eaglebob345

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Abso-f******g-lutely YES!!

They did the unthinkable and married their two divisions to massive success. I hope they keep the hybrid model going. At this point, I don't think it is at all controversial to say that the Switch is, without a doubt, the greatest console Nintendo has ever released. The DS and Wii generation was arguably their most successful but, for their games and fans, I think the Switch is Nintendo at it's best. Some franchises are still under represented, or missing entirely, but the Switch is still their GOAT. 🐐

Re: Soapbox: If You Thought Last Year Was "Sad" For Switch, 2023 Might Be Hard To Handle

eaglebob345

The I thought we had an excellent year, even without Pokémon. Xenoblade 3, Bayonetta 3, and Splatoon 3 were excellent releases. Kirby and Three Hopes were pretty good too, though they didn't hold my attention enough to finish them. Even Switch Sports and Mario Strikers did pretty well this year, even though so many people want to discount those releases, too.

Regardless, excluding both Pokémon releases would be dumb. That like excluding God of War and Horizon (Sony's big releases of the year) then saying Sony didn't have a good year without them. Adding conditions like that negates that silly argument. Of course it is from Kotaku, so I'll take my bucket of salt to go.

Re: Japanese Charts: Pokémon And Nintendo Continue To Dominate

eaglebob345

@SwitchForce Regardless, I didn't say anything about consoles or any company other than GF. All three of my comments in a row were specifically referencing Pokémon. However, Nintendo takes a more hands-off approach concerning Pokémon and Creatures in more of a support studio for mainline Pokémon games. Knowing the TPC, GF, Nintendo, and Creatures let ILCA handle BDSP tells me that it is GF's fault that they worked on both PLA and SV that released this year. They didn't have to overload themselves. They should have had another company handle one of the projects, spaced out their projects better, or expanded and trained their team to better handle both projects. We've all seen how great Switch games can look when the dev team puts in that extra effort, especially in those third-party exclusives like MHR and MHS2 which both also released on Switch in the same year.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Scarlet And Violet?

eaglebob345

I would settle on a 7.5. It compounds on the issues Legends Arceus had with even more jank, but it's evident there is a good game in there. Game Freak needs reallyNintendo to polish their games for them. If this game looked and ran as well as BotW, we would be having a much more favorable discussion. Also, these games should have had voice acting by now, since SwSh. The emotional scenes are hollow because of the lack of it.

Re: Bayonetta's OG Voice Actor Asks Fans To "Boycott" Third Game After PlatinumGames Wage Fallout

eaglebob345

This is the most comments I've ever seen on a NL article! 😯

That said, I'm conflicted on the whole controversy and boycott. My main gripe with Taylor is that she went after her replacement, which is tacky no matter which way it goes.

She may think she is worth more, but the low sales of Bayonetta games and her lack of other voice acting credits may be why she couldn't get what she wanted. She's only got 13 VA credits to her name, according to behind the voice actor. Her last 2 VA roles were both Bayonetta, from 4 years ago for SSBU and 4 for Bayonetta 2. That can't possible be her only job because, if so, she may well not be a voice actor at all. Meanwhile, Hale has over 650 credits to her name since the 80's. They are not the same.

Also, not to burst her bubble but I'm guessing that, as far as Platinum is concerned, neither Taylor nor Hale "is Bayonetta". Atsuko Tanaka, her original JAPANESE voice actor, "is Bayonetta". To them, she's probably just the English dub that they'd bring back if convenient.

Finally, if she can't afford to run a car that's on her, not Platinum or Nintendo. She knows that one voice acting gig every 4 years isn't sustainable. Her situation is noone's fault but hers.
