Re: Where To Pre-Order Fire Emblem Engage On Switch

@SwitchForce I don't know if we are allowed to post links here. However:

If you are in the UK, replace .co.uk with .co.jp

If you are in the US, replace .com with .co.jp

Then search for Fire Emblem. It didn't come up when I search it as Fire Emblem Engage, for some reason.

@Sequel All of the clones are trailing in their shadow. Nintendo will be fine. These companies are copying SSB, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and Pokémon. All 20+ year-old game series. They are still the leader in those types of games and it took this many companies 20 years to even hope to compete. I can't wait for the Splatoon clones to come out in 2035.

Even the current whipping boy Pokémon is still ahead of the pack. Those clones out now are emulating Pokémon games from 10+ years ago, and they aren't even better than the games from 10+ years ago.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the Zelda clones popping up, most specifically the BotW clones.

Re: Hands On: Splatoon 3 Brings New Ideas, But Nothing Revolutionary

I'm wondering if we are going to get an update on "the" article from last week. Between "that" article and this one, Splatoon's fanbase is fast becoming one of the most toxic fanbases I have ever had the displeasure of being attached to, and I'm a Pokémon fan. I've seen so much manufactured controversy and hatred for no real reason these past few months. Including the controversy about the "switched release dates" with Splatoon 3 and Xenoblade 3.

Re: Hands On: Splatoon 3 Brings New Ideas, But Nothing Revolutionary

@Dang69 What is there to be critical about? They obviously haven't shown off every little thing about the game and there's definitely more to the story mode than what was revealed. The game was never going to be very different from the previous two because it would make no sense to change everything. All they really need to introduce is a new story, new weapons, and new maps and they would meet the criteria for a new game. Expecting loads of new weapons and maps at launch would be silly, especially knowing how the previous two entries were handled.

@StuTwo They aren't trying to reinvent the wheel here. The games will of course be similar because they are in the same series, but that doesn't mean Splatoon 3 won't be a great game on its own. People are being overly critical for a series that's only had 3 games in 7 years, with a 5 year gap between the second and third entries. Besides, there's bound to be more changes they haven't shown yet, and there's the continued story to enjoy as well.

Re: Nexomon + Nexomon: Extinction: Complete Collection Arrives On Switch This Month

I want the physical collection. I went on a Pokémon-like bender a while ago and this series was the only one that I stuck to enough to finish it. I think they are pretty good, but they are missing a few QoL elements that Pokémon has had since the beginning. Difficulty scaling is pretty annoying early on but, once you get to the dragons, it's easy to cheese your way through near the end.

Re: Soapbox: For A Jaded Pokémon Fan, Scarlet And Violet Is Exactly What I Need

Also, I don't get the complaints about "unchanged formula". Literally every major franchise has an "unchanged formula". God of War changed its camera but it's essentially the same game mechanics. Fighting games, FPS, Uncharted, Mario, Zelda, etc. are all basically in the same boat. The next logical step for Pokémon was open world just like Zelda. The core gameplay is still the same. Why should Pokémon be any different? Why would you want a complete overhaul of the formula? That's how you get a Digimon Survive.

I was never a jaded fan. The only issues I had with the series were from gens 5-7 when so much wonky stuff was happening. I actually liked gen 8 and then Legends Arceus came in and was as good as the greatest game in the series (Platinum). Gens 5-7 felt like a step down from gen 4 to me, but they each had something to like. Also the DP remakes were lackluster at best and they shouldn't have even existed alongside Legends Arceus. I hope these games have a good amount of new and returning Pokémon. I think they took out too many in gen 8, but my favorites made it in so I didn't care. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Re: Where To Buy Xenoblade Chronicles 3 On Switch

eaglebob345

@Orokosaki I ordered it through Nintendo US but the same applies. It won't get to me until Aug 2nd. I don't usually buy games directly from Nintendo, I just wanted to complete my artbook collection with the special edition. I sprang for a digital copy once I realized it wasn't going to arrive on time. Amazon is usualy my go-to, or my local Gamestop for midnight releases.
