I was just searching this yesterday and I am glad we received confirmation. People were complaining over on reddit, assuming it would be a mystery gift.
I dropped the 5 bucks on it, fired the game up, and flew around a bit. Then I gave up and went back to playing other games because I already beat XCX last year... Not sure why I even bought it.
@DTfearTheBEARD Unfortunately it's unlikely to happen with the current state of technology (AI eating up so many resources), chip costs, tariffs, etc. All we can hope for at this point is no more price increases.
@Dang_69 The problem with that comparison is that Corpse Party and Neptunia had "uncensored" releases on the Switch, just not in the West (presumably because of Japan's obsession with... young girls). This game is censored across the board on the Switch consoles by the Japanese CERO standards specifically... which we know because of the PS5 releases. The East and West have strangely different standards, but it is very obvious that Dispatch is only adhering to the Eastern standards.
I all lines up with the idea that AdHoc was working on a censored PS5 release and thought they could get away with using that same edited and CERO reviewed version for the Switch consoles. It would be better for them to just admit it instead of trying to hide behind Nintendo's vague statement. Nintendo did their PR speak to not throw AdHoc under the bus, but AdHoc is determined to keep running in front of the bus until it runs them over.
@Discostew @DarkTron I'm glad other people can read between the lines as I can. AdHoc must have believed us fools that would just accept their backpedaling and finger pointing without asking questions.
How would they be able to work with the company that supposedly censored the game to release it without censorship? 🤔 That is the question of the day. I'm still in support of buying the game, but only if they stop with the finger pointing and release the game with censorship as an option.
@LEGEND_MARIOID At this point, it's not even about the censorship. It's about AdHoc's inability to admit they messed up while trying to push the blame to Nintendo. The assertion that the devil (Nintendo) made them do it holds no weight when we see it matches the censored release on other consoles.
I'm glad you're enjoying it, though. I hope to as well when AdHoc stops trying to shift blame and just fixes their game.
Still pointing the finger and not taking full ownership of their unwillingness to create a separate version from the censored Japanese release, I see.
I clocked the PR speak since the first article. If Nintendo were the prudes AdHoc claims they are, we definitely would not have gotten Sir John Phallustiff (Google it).
They need to just accept the blame for their mistake before they get to the point that Nintendo doesn't want to work with them or the fans are tired of their BS.
Imagine censoring your game, but blaming the company that allowed uncensored 🍆🍑😫💦 ON LAUNCH DAY with Cyberpunk 2077. On the cartridge. It probably wouldn't even be that bad if they didn't put those goofy a** black bars in there.
You don't get to point the finger at a company that allowed uncensored Cyberpunk 2077, where you can run around in the nude and hit people with a veiny dildo, then pretend it wasn't you. I'm not buying it unless THEY reverse THEIR decision to censor THEIR game.
Imagine censoring your game, but blaming the company that allowed uncensored 🍆🍑😫💦 ON LAUNCH DAY with Cyberpunk 2077. On the cartridge. It probably wouldn't even be that bad if they didn't put those goofy a** black bars in there.
GF better show they put in the work for whatever Pokémon game they announce next month. Anything less will just prove they took all the money they made from their biggest franchise and made this game, rather than making better Pokémon games. Too little dev time will now be an unacceptable excuse, since this game shows they are able and willing to accept dev help from other studios.
@YANDMAN Yep, same with Split Fiction. I should have clarified that those two went the code-in-box route, when the game could have been put on a cartridge.
Hopefully it's the Lite. I bet they saw how well the Lite did, and would like to get it out earlier than the Switch Lite. 2.5 years after launch was quite the wait last time.
I do find it quite hilarious that Hades 2 taking second place is a "blinder", when it is literally the highest rated new game this year. The only games to match it were LoZ: BotW and TotK Switch 2 Editions.
Why did Death Stranding 2 (we all know how 🙄) and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 get nominations when they both reviewed worse than Split Fiction? Split Fiction reviewed better both of them and better than their previous game that won GOTY. We all know it SHOULD be the best reviewed game of the year, Hades 2, but it WILL be Clair Obscur: E33.
Around X and Y. That's when content started largely going missing, no post game, no third game, etc. Sun and Moon hit a new low with the Ultra games. Sword and Shield was a step up from those, but was marred by a poor story, poor post-game, TPC double dipping wallets for DLC, and so-so graphics. Scarlet and Violet were a new low in performance and graphics, performing even worse than Legends Arceus, and a step back in mechanics compared to LA.
@Galaxy2IsTheGOAT Don't discount the chances yet. Sony is becoming weirdly open to releasing on other systems, and something tells me they would like to best Mario at Mario on it's home system. Similar to Sonic aiming at the Mario Kart crown.
I think it's just PR speak trying to control the narrative. I'll be the first to admit that I am not a developer, coder, computer whiz, etc., but don't PS4, PS5, XB1, and XBS games all download to and then run off of system memory? What does "disc streaming" have to do with that?
I'm not the most enthusiastic when HD-2D comes up, but I don't think it is overdone just yet. There are as many HD-2D games out there as people seem to want to believe. I think it's just the games that they made or remastered don't interest me as much as the ones I wish they would make. Like HD-2D Pokémon, Breath of Fire, or Zelda.
@Ravenmaster Yep. And the gaming media will eat it up and collectively disparage Nintendo until the competitor inevitably fails. That's exactly what happened with the PSP, Vita, and Steam Deck. The PSP was at least successful, it just failed to defeat the DS. The Vita failed completely and the Steam Deck is basically a lost cause.
I'll pass. With Sony's poor showing and lack of support on the Vita, I'm surprised they are even trying. The appeal of the Switch is the hybrid nature of it, giving the best of both worlds from handhelds and home consoles in one. They can barely support their VR peripheral for the PS4/5, and they failed miserably on the Vita. They probably won't be able to effectively support a new handheld/Hybrid.
This feels like a "Tony Stark built this in a cave... with a box of scraps!" moment. $1700 in 2025 to do what the 3DS did for $250 nearly a decade and a half ago is laughable. I don't care what resolution the screen is or what's under the hood. It should not be $1700. And don't even get me started on those cybertuck-esque fauxcon attached to it.
It annoys me when people say eks or cross unnecessarily. There are times when it is needed, like Xenoblade X (cross) or Street Fighter X (cross) Tekken. Other than that, names like Sonic X Shadow, Spy X Family, and Hunter X Hunter should just skip it completely.
@Gatorclops You are correct. Some people just can't admit when they are wrong. They double down on their ignorance. My fellow Americans are shining examples of it.
I'll never understand why these demo never make their way to the eshop. Exposure before release is literally the whole point of allowing game demos on the eshop.
And no one say it's not possible. The 3DS also had demos, including for Pokémon games.

Re: Tales Of Arise - Switch 2 Performance And Resolution Revealed
@TerribleTerabytes You are not wrong. They've been moving that goal post since the launch of the PS4 and XB1.
Re: Tales Of Arise - Switch 2 Performance And Resolution Revealed
I wonder what the key card defenders have to say about this one. The game definitely fits on the cart, so what's the deal guys?
I'll wait for a steep digital discount when the game's sales inevitably tank from being a key card release.
Re: Oblivion, Skyrim And Fallout Switch 2 Physicals Will All Be Code-In-A-Box, Bethesda Confirms
I'd rather have this than that key card nonsense.

Re: It's Official, The Switch Is Nintendo's Best-Selling Console Of All Time
Woot, woot! Way to go Switch and Nintendo.
The concept of the Switch printed so much money that THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY shifted to try to imitate Nintendo, again.

Re: Review: Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined (Switch 2) - A Fantastic Makeover & The Best-Looking DQ Ever
Big oof on the key card. A free upgrade on the eshop for the Switch 1 version could have fixed that, but oh well...
Guess I'll wait for a 90% off "failed to meet expectations" type sale.

I'll accept a delay to release a perfect port. Now make an actual physical version, too.

I'm having a blast. I gave it a 9. My only real gripe is the lack of a bike, skates, or Pokémon riding.
