Re: The Game Awards Nominees Announced, Donkey Kong Bananza Up For GOTY

eaglebob345

Why did Death Stranding 2 (we all know how 🙄) and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 get nominations when they both reviewed worse than Split Fiction? Split Fiction reviewed better both of them and better than their previous game that won GOTY. We all know it SHOULD be the best reviewed game of the year, Hades 2, but it WILL be Clair Obscur: E33.

Re: Talking Point: When Did 'Good Enough' Become Good Enough For Pokémon?

Around X and Y. That's when content started largely going missing, no post game, no third game, etc. Sun and Moon hit a new low with the Ultra games. Sword and Shield was a step up from those, but was marred by a poor story, poor post-game, TPC double dipping wallets for DLC, and so-so graphics. Scarlet and Violet were a new low in performance and graphics, performing even worse than Legends Arceus, and a step back in mechanics compared to LA.

Re: Rumour: Sony Is Gunning For The Switch 2 With A Handheld, Dockable PS6

@Ravenmaster Yep. And the gaming media will eat it up and collectively disparage Nintendo until the competitor inevitably fails. That's exactly what happened with the PSP, Vita, and Steam Deck. The PSP was at least successful, it just failed to defeat the DS. The Vita failed completely and the Steam Deck is basically a lost cause.

I'll pass. With Sony's poor showing and lack of support on the Vita, I'm surprised they are even trying. The appeal of the Switch is the hybrid nature of it, giving the best of both worlds from handhelds and home consoles in one. They can barely support their VR peripheral for the PS4/5, and they failed miserably on the Vita. They probably won't be able to effectively support a new handheld/Hybrid.

Re: Abxylute's $1,700 Handheld PC Resurrects 3DS's Glasses-Free 3D, But Using Mario To Promote It Might Not Be The Best Idea

This feels like a "Tony Stark built this in a cave... with a box of scraps!" moment. $1700 in 2025 to do what the 3DS did for $250 nearly a decade and a half ago is laughable. I don't care what resolution the screen is or what's under the hood. It should not be $1700. And don't even get me started on those cybertuck-esque fauxcon attached to it.

Re: Opinion: We Need To Talk About X Games

eaglebob345

It annoys me when people say eks or cross unnecessarily. There are times when it is needed, like Xenoblade X (cross) or Street Fighter X (cross) Tekken. Other than that, names like Sonic X Shadow, Spy X Family, and Hunter X Hunter should just skip it completely.

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Physical Release With The Full Game On The Cart

eaglebob345

I keep posting this to whoever will listen:
Hitman, Split Fiction, Street Fighter, Yakuza, Tony Hawk, Wild Hearts S, WWE, and Madden are all above 32GB, so they should have been on the 64GB cards. WWE and Split Fiction are slightly above 64GB, but that doesn't mean they couldn't have optimized them more to fit. The publishers chose to go they key card route even though the 64GB cards made sense for these games, so they deserve their low sales. Hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 does well enough to show third parties what we want.

Re: "One Of The Slowest Modern LCDs I've Ever Seen" - Digital Foundry's John Linneman On Switch 2's Display

@sdelfin That's because no one actually sees the "issue". They had to use specialized equipment and slow it down to 11% speed to see it, just to nitpick. People claiming they can see it only after it was pointed out by DF are BSing. If it was noticeable at all by the naked eye, DF and many others would have made it known weeks/months ago. I don't have a problem with it, and most people won't. Not many people in the world are going to be arguing about milliseconds. We just want to play fun games.
