As promised last week, the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Island Tour Creator website is now up and running.
If you missed the news, this new tool lets you take any screenshots or videos you might have from New Horizons and use them to create your very own poster or video trailer, perfect for showing off your humble abode.
You can access the website right here (note that the site is designed only for smart devices, so you won't be able to create anything on a desktop computer). You can either transfer screenshots directly from your Switch, or take shots you've already posted directly onto Twitter. Explanations on how to do both of these are offered up to you when you choose them.
There are certain rules in play here – you can only use screenshots taken using the Switch's capture button, for example, rather than any that you've grabbed through a capture card – and all info can be found at the site's FAQ section at the bottom of the home page.
If you decide to go ahead and make your own creations, feel free to share them with us on Twitter. We'll make sure to keep an eye out for them!

If it knows to only use Switch screenshots somehow, it probably is through metadata attached to the JPG.
Thus it should be easy enough to spoof and do pretty silly things with this.
Edit: The in-browser smart device experience is more polished than expected. It won't work properly in Firefox mobile though, it get stuck on island name entry because it keeps dismissing the keyboard.
I guess that’s cool.
epic! i wish i had a cooler island to show off, it looks like a big plain with nothing atm XD
cant wait to see what people make!
Great, now I can show off my completely empty (except for some random Mario items near my house) island, complete with tons of weeds!
@RupeeClock Not just Switch Screenshots, Animal Crossing Screenshots. No Ace Attorney posters for me.
@TryToBeHopeful
So they apparently attach more metadata that identifies the game too, that's neat.
@RupeeClock Seems to me if you take a picture of a solid background, it would be pretty easy to turn the poster frame into a layer in a graphics app (I mean I have no expertise in that area).
Won't let you add your island's name if it has a space in it.
Cool widget, unnecessary but clever (free advertising!)
I was kinda hoping there’d be a way to see other people’s creations, like a gallery or something :L but this is still super cute and I’m going to enjoy seeing them all over twitter!
@TryToBeHopeful
It would be easier to use Chrome's devtools to simulate mobile mode to allow you to use the app, and then inspect the network requests or check the sources and pull graphical data assets.
Like, enjoy these sprite assets for the Tom Nook animations.

You guys can actually use the thing? My roomate and I both tried it, and got different glitches preventing us from even trying it...
I thought it would be like the island tours from New Leaf... disappointed.
I'm shocked there actually is a Portuguese version even though the game itself isn't translated. It's European, though, but oh well
Website? On the device that doesn't have a web browser?
Way to go Nintendo. (dumb*ssess)
Spent about 15 minutes in game yesterday JUST trying to figure out how to do this. Freakin' screwed up Nintendo Logic. 😝
