Completely irrelevant to me, as I play my Switch docked 99.9% of the time. I only upgraded to the OLED model from my launch version because a friend expressed interest in buying it.

@Edu23XWiiU You’re willfully understanding. Of COURSE it installs the games to the console from the disc.

But the GAME ITSELF is on the disc TO BE INSTALLED FROM and is perfectly playable without a separate internet download.

Good grief, some folks just don’t have reading comprehension these days.

Nintendo needs to tell us how freaking much these upgrades will COST outside of these promos.

@larryisaman From the ludicrous cost of Mario Kart to the zero-price-info on Switch 2 game upgrades to the paid tech demo tour…I went from happy to cautiously optimistic to wait-till-later. And I hate that I feel that way now.

@Edu23XWiiU Untrue. This happens on Xbox but not on PS4/5 discs except VERY tiny exceptions.

@Astropez not a lie at all. Games like AC Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws are the exceptions, not the majority that require internet to install the whole thing. The massive majority of PS4/5 discs have THE ACTUAL GAME on disc. There may be a day one bug fix patch but the game on the actual disc is still playable regardless.

@Donerry Ita a shame, because I genuinely liked it! Sure it’s ludicrously expensive for an alarm clock, but it had style and pizazz!

They just need to ease up on the auto-dim. And knock like $20 off the price.

I bought one last week at Target, and returned it after two days because of two factors: the display is laughably dim even if you crank every brightness setting to maximum (overly aggressive auto-dimming), and not being able to set different alarms for different days since I work from home part of the week and in-office the rest.

Well, at least one of those complaints is no longer a thing!

They could release this on PS5 and Series X and the jank would still be real and present.

Nintendo has always made bank on portable consoles. Nintendo has (almost) always made bank on desktop consoles. Nintendo made staggering bank on a hybrid console model that combines both.

Pretty sure they won’t be going away from this before I turn 50, especially since I’m in my mid-forties.

Btw, what are you not liking about the Switch in general? I use it primarily as a docked console, and other than the CPU being a bit slow, I enjoy it. I enjoy my PS5 and Series X more these days, but still.

@Princess_Lilly I freely admit that I DO have a Nintendo-branded card in my Switch currently. But said card was also on massive discount at the time and I needed to expand my storage badly at the time.

A reminder that these cards will live undisturbed inside your Switch 99.9% of the time and a logo on said card doesn’t make it run better than a non-Sonic branded one.

I note that it just says Switch software. It doesn’t say anything about physical games, just software.

I really, really hope that it supports the actual game cards and not just eShop games…

I love that they’re taking the best approach possible and not changing the games/gameplay AT ALL beyond an optional graphics quality increase.

@SillyG If LRG is the only way, then I’ll just hold onto my PS4 copy and call it good. I’ve got every main game physically there and every one available on Xbox, I don’t need to kowtow to LRG for a Switch copy as well.
