@subechin Same on the age range! That said, I have a ginormous backlog extending back to the PS1/3DS/etc and yet I keep playing newer stuff instead of polishing any of those off.
Maybe I’ll get to those once physical media ends and it finally gets me to stop buying new games. …maybe…
@subechin Capcom gonna Capcom! Won’t affect me personally, will be getting Requiem on PS5 and already have the other games for that platform. But it would have been a greater incentive for me to double dip for sure.
My friends got me the Mario one for Christmas. They weren’t sure if I liked it, but I told them I loved it and the only thing that would make it better is if it were Luigi.
…Nintendo must have heard me!
@AllBLK Hard disagree. The Mario set was a fun build, very big and looks darn good in hand.
It should be noted that the “35% more than the PS4” specifically refers to sales in the same relative span of time, in case it wasn’t obvious.
People will see that banner and go “OMG Switch 2 outsold the PS4 already, wow!!!!” and I hope to head that misapprehension off at the pass for those who don’t bother reading the actual article.
Already have the PS5 version preordered, and will get the S2 version eventually once the GKC drops in price. Because I’m a shameless Yakuza/LAD fanboy and even a GKC won’t keep me from owning it for my preferred platforms.
@Metaphor1987 Steam says it requires a MINIMUM of 100GB of space. And I doubt Squeenix wants to play the “download your language to play, please!” dance.
@Jack_Goetz I would love that. I have it digitally for Switch 2, but having Ball x Pit as a nice shiny PS5 disc on my shelf would be fantastic! As would a Switch 2 edition gsmecard.
So I played a bit of the demo on PS5 over my lunch hour.
There’s the bones of an interesting game here. Graphics bounce from not bad to meh. Spelling and grammar issues abound. Feels more like a scaled up mobile game at times.
I wouldn’t pay full price for this game, but at 50% off I’d consider it as a time waster.
I kinda like the primarily-black thing Nintendo is going for so far. You know down the road they’ll go for the wacky (at least I hope they do!) but it gives a more unified look to the system with the color accents instead of the HEY LOOK IM ALL PURPLE/ORANGE/PINK/EYE SEARING YELLOW the S1 joy-cons had.
And yes, I say this as someone who happily bought a set of said EYE SEARING YELLOW joy-cons back in the day, recently got replacements from Nintendo after their batteries died.
“The studio was mostly focused on mobile development, but also assisted other Ubisoft teams and had worked on major Ubisoft IP including Rainbow Six and Assassin's Creed.”
This more than anything else tells me that this probably was NOT related to unionization. If they’re mostly a mobile development team, that’s kind of a hard space to succeed in these days and Ubisoft might have decided it wasn’t worth the effort anymore.
The other NPCs I only did to hear the different voices they used. But I took pleasure in hitting Myles every time I saw him. Especially after he upgrades my shot. He was the test dummy. Always.
@TomSupreme It amuses and disturbs me when people say things like, “gooners incoming” when people are annoyed at censorship. People are WAY too comfortable dismissing changes like this.
Never support censorship. That way actual bad things lie, not just “hur dur gooners.”
@imgrowinglegs Some interviews with the maker(s) seemed to indicate they were debating whether to redo Zero first or 3rd, which baffles me. Like…how is this even a choice?
Trails in the Sky 1-3
Trails from Zero-Trails into Azure
Trails of Cold Steel 1-4
Trails Into Reverie
Trails Through Daybreak 1-2
That’s all the games that exist at the moment, with another game coming early next year. All except Sky 2-3 are available on current consoles in some form, and Sky 2-3 can be played on PC.
@NinjaWaddleDee I can safely say that when the credits rolled on 1, I would have immediately paid to jump into a remake of 2. I actually considered seeing if any friends had a laptop/desktop PC they weren’t using so I could leap right into the Steam version.
@imgrowinglegs I was under the impression that the 3rd Sky game didn’t get an English release other than PC?
I have a Vita. But knowing that the third game didn’t get an English release made me decide to not waste money on the psp 2nd one and just wait for the inevitable remake.
@imgrowinglegs I’m not waiting till later next year and then whenever they get around to Sky 3 to play them. I’m relatively safe playing the Crossbell games and the first two Cold Steel games, but then I’m obviously stopping.
IMMEDIATELY knew I’d need the rest of this series ASAP. Playing the Crossbell games right now even though I know it spoils some of Sky 2 and 3, but given how many of these games there are…I want to get further in before I die.
@DashKappei “you do realize the “free upgrade” is only valid if you already own the game and for many others it is simply Divinity 2 for Switch 2?”
Well yes. That’s what we’re talking about. A free upgrade for existing owners. Underline the word free.
“It’s more than fine to criticize this port for not including mouse mode and a performance-mode at 40fps handheld.”
Of course it is. And if you scroll back slightly, my actual issue was with someone whining that portable mode wasn’t 60fps.
“You’re tired of people whining?”
Sure am! It gets tiresome.
“What’s way worse is people patronizing others on how they want to spend their hard earned money and having different, higher standards.”
Nah. I’m fine with patronizing people who complain about free things, especially when said free thing makes the recent Skyrim “upgrade” look pathetic. Now that I DID complain about because it actually introduced new issues that didn’t exist in the orginal Switch port. That’s an example of a valid complaint.
No mouse support in this game? It absolutely would be nice. 40fps portable? Very much so! Hopefully those will come down the road. But you know what didn’t have to happen at all? An actual Switch 2 upgrade for free.

Just to yank this totally not a train wreck comments section to something SLIGHTLY relevant.

Not live in the US yet, sadly.

Re: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Tech Review Of Final Fantasy VII Remake On Switch 2
@jsty3105 I mean it COULD…if they drop the texture quality, reduce sound quality and remove half the game…
Re: Digital Foundry Delivers Its Tech Review Of Final Fantasy VII Remake On Switch 2
@LastFootnote You uh…you know the game is over 90GB on PS5 and that’s likely WITH Sony’s compression tech, right?
The fact it is this small on Switch 2 is an accomplishment in and of itself.

I hope there’s far fewer other people in 5.

Re: Dispatch Switch 2 And Switch Frame Rate & Resolution Officially Revealed
@Sambuc I know this may shock you, but the installed base of Switch 1 consoles still dwarfs the Switch 2 installed base.
This also may shock you, but those Switch 1 owners buy games and exchange money to do so on a regular basis, and developers of games like money.
Even more shocking, they PLAY games on their Switch 1.
I know this is overwhelming, but let it sink in.

Re: Trails In The Sky 2nd Chapter Continues Estelle's Journey In Fall 2026
@imgrowinglegs I’ll wait for the remakes, then. No matter how easy it is, I won’t mod my precious Vita and I’d prefer playing the official release.
I’m content to wait! I’ll be annoyed if they pivot to Crossbell instead of doing the third game next, though…

@darkswabber PS5 for me, then waiting for a GKC sale. 0 went on sale very quickly and PlayAsia had 1&2 on sale rather quickly for S2.
@Unit_DTH Is this a Nintendo direct? I thought this was from Sega themselves. Maybe I misread.
Re: Beloved Superhero Comedy Dispatch Is Flying Onto Switch 2 Next Year
Aaaaand preordered.

So looking forward to this. Yakuza 3 was the first game in the series I played, and getting to replay it in high-def is going to be fantastic.
