@Princess_Lilly I freely admit that I DO have a Nintendo-branded card in my Switch currently. But said card was also on massive discount at the time and I needed to expand my storage badly at the time.

A reminder that these cards will live undisturbed inside your Switch 99.9% of the time and a logo on said card doesn’t make it run better than a non-Sonic branded one.

@Anti-Matter Bad assumption. They only said software will be compatible. They said nothing about game cards. Wait till they actually say Switch game cards will work.

I note that it just says Switch software. It doesn’t say anything about physical games, just software.

I really, really hope that it supports the actual game cards and not just eShop games…

I love that they’re taking the best approach possible and not changing the games/gameplay AT ALL beyond an optional graphics quality increase.

@SillyG If LRG is the only way, then I’ll just hold onto my PS4 copy and call it good. I’ve got every main game physically there and every one available on Xbox, I don’t need to kowtow to LRG for a Switch copy as well.

That also said, this article makes me so glad I have all three current major consoles. I can play games like Astro Bot, Mario Odyssey and…well, some XBox games and not care about who steals/takes inspiration/whatever form who. I just pays my money and plays the games.

Played through it and loved it.

It’s a very polished and gorgeous platformer. It can sit next to most Mario games as just fun. Fans really need to relax, developers take inspiration from other devs all the time.

@LikelySatan Indeed, I’m sure glad other series like Final Fantasy and Metal Gear weren’t ported to the Switch. Imagine how long those would be! Or games like Xenoblade Chronicles with their long cutscenes, oof!

Why shouldn’t Switch? It’s a freaking masterpiece. Whether it was MEANT to be on a Nintendo platform is meaningless. Hell, by that logic, FF7-10 and 12 should never have come to Switch.

Konami made some VERY good games in the past, and now we can play them again on newer systems. I’ll reward that behavior while avoiding their dumb/bad things.

$499 is far too much unless they ramp up the processing power on the higher end of the gap between PS4 and PS5.

As much as I love my Switch, Nintendo needs to actually put some power into their console. The Big N can make their silicon sing and dance most of the time, but third party devs have to make MAJOR quality sacrifices to get the same games to run on it.

Oh, excellent! I'm picking this up for PS4 just because I have the other two there as well, but all three are now on my eShop wish list for a sale! Maybe they'll have a trilogy pack down the road.

Now we just need Sam and Max Hit The Road to make a return appearance...still love that game to death.
