To be fair Best Buy or any company could of just ordered 2000 copies each time if they wanted regardless of what LRG thought. At least with this partnership, it can be done in a controlled and transparent way. BB isn't even ordering a massive quantity according to LRG and plan on putting just a couple copies per store. They'll also receive their purchases around the same timeframe as everyone else, no special treatment. Overall most of the open preorders have been selling around 9k-13k copies so adding 5-10K (if even that) more isn't exactly breaking their business model or causing a flood of items added to their marketplace. Plus its only a few open preorder titles they have interest in so anything that is limited its fair game for everyone and most open preorders like Outlast aren't bothered with.
LRG ordered separate coverarts for these games and the way things are stated pretty much guarantees these will be individual releases, probably around $30 each.
For those asking, Golf Story will have a collector's edition. They'll announce details the week of its release.
As for their regular edition versions, as others have said its an open preorder so you have two weeks to lock in an order (some cases they'll have it open a full month).
@roadrunner343 LRG does open preorders for all the standard edition releases for the Switch. Usually its 2 weeks, but for Yooka-Laylee it'll be open for a month (until October 7th).
It would of been so amazing for Sakurai to put those chairs there for the soul purpose of trolling fans.
Overall as others have stated, Waluigi isn't a special character at all. If they wanted to add more characters to the already bloated roster, that is fine but there are so many better choices. They already did him a favor by adding Waluigi as an assist trophy plus isn't even the best assist trophy they could turn into a roster character when they have the likes of Bomberman, Shovel Knight, Zero, etc they could use.
"With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate dominating much of the Nintendo Direct at E3 2018, there wasn't much room for any other big first-party announcements"

Amazon is far from the best company to work for, but that doesn't justify committing crimes. Your comment is beyond stupid. The guy is 23, that isn't a kid, that is an adult. There is no company or country that would give him a good ole "bollocking" for stealing. He'd be fired or arrested anywhere and he should be. This wasn't a "mistake" or "accident". He made a choice to not only break a standard policy that every company has but a law that every flipping country has too. He chose to be a scumbag, so any consequences as a resort are on him. Its not like he is going to prison for 6 months, and sadly I'm sure he has far worse on his rap sheet. Hell a interview question just about every company asks is what would you do if you caught a co-worker stealing? Nobody wants to deal with trash who takes from others.
@HappyMaskedGuy lol young kids make mistake? The dude is 23. That is an adult. THAT IS AN ADULT. You know what this person also is? A criminal. A small crime is still a crime, and trying to rationalize it as an act of desperation or love is beyond stupid.
Bundle is really unimpressive. Red joycons and a carrying case with the digital version for $379.99. Yeah no thanks. They could of at least had some designs on the controls or dock to make it more unique at that price.
@thewoosp Its a point and click adventure game. You go around solving puzzle/mysteries that go with pushing the story forward. The original 2 games were really well done and deservedly received a lot of positive reviews. They are around 15 years old now so don't expect anything cutting edge. Enjoyment is all dependent upon how well a person likes the point and click genre (pre-telltale esque choice system)
Happy to see a Sonic title reaching success both in sales and in ratings. Hopefully they release a physical copy in some form. It would be awesome if Sonic Forces turned out to be really good too, but early impressions seem disappointing.
@mikegamer To be fair its not overrated since everyone, including the game's own fans have openly declared it a terrible game on all fronts. Its just a case of the game being so over the top bad and cheesy that people enjoy it in the same way they are liking the movie called "The Room" by Tommy Wiseau.
@JJ286 Just type "Nighttrap playthrough" into youtube. There honestly isn't much in terms of gameplay. Pretty much everything is live action FMV clips in every scene as you click through all the cameras in the house trying to find/stop the burglars.
Just another opinion....a game like Night Trap really doesn't effect Nintendo's image. The image is mostly tied to the company developing/publishing the title rather than what platform its on. It is just one of the many games available on other platforms. Ironically there would be more positive hype about it coming to Nintendo rather than negative especially if there is a physical release which would make collectors going bonkers. Some will say....well Nintendo is allowing a bad games on their console. Well they've already allowed a LOT of bad games on their consoles, everyone does. It is still better then them allowing 3 copyright infringing games from Ninja Pig Studios!
@STiger
They are competent in the way that they have an established a mechanic that allows them to sell any game out in minutes. Other companies have tried to emulate their business model, but are not even close to being as successful. PA, SEG, 8-Bit, SRG can take weeks or months to sell out their print runs of 2500-3500. Scalpers aren't even the reason as less than 5% of the total print runs even end up being sold on ebay/amazon. Its just the amiibo effect where fear that the scarcity leads to high value later so people want to knee jerk buy every purchase. That is why when games are already available in English physically such as Wonderboy or Deemo, people ignore it and desperately try to get the LRG version despite it being the same thing.
@Wichtel Their "word" was 24 years ago in a completely different time and climate. The stance they took no longer matters especially when they've released games with far more controversial content than anything Night Trap ever had to offer. I mean they were against Mortal Kombat too, cried about the blood/gore of the Genesis version, then went all in for the sequels when they saw the sales potential. Not allowing diversity just causes their market to become stale. It would be one thing if they just didn't want something of low quality like Night Trap to come their way, but they aren't even close to being consistent with it when they've allowed for a lot worse titles to hit their consoles over the recent years such as the crap Ninja Pig Studios brings with their stolen content.
@MegaTen The Operation Rainfall movement wouldn't work for the Minis. Nintendo has tight control of their properties and aren't very keen on licensing them out to other groups. They are well aware of their releases not meeting demand, but they really don't care. At this point they do it on purpose to inflate the desire of people to acquire their products.
Even in Nintendo wanted to shut it down, they'd fail. Just like the other dozen or so Metroid hacks, once its in the wild, it'll always be out there. People are already selling cart versions of it too lol
Nintendo loves to show they are behind the times when it comes to online services. With PSN/Live you can count on lots of online gaming options as most titles good or bad will feature it and there are several free games each month. Renting one retro game most people likely will have played or own in some form isn't interesting at all. It doesn't help fuel interest that only a few announced games are likely to provide multiplayer support and Nintendo's history in hosting games with it is pathetic to say the least. As for the chat app, it isn't a bad idea IF its a side feature rather than the only voice method. If that is their main chat method, then once again Nintendo fails to provide basics that every system has.
Pretty much a 99.99% chance Splatoon & MK are enhanced ports just like the dozens of remastered games the PS4 tossed out. Quick and easy way to buy some time for fresh new releases. These titles were talked about being ported to the NX ages ago as well. Nintendo would be getting off on the wrong foot if they released sequels looking identical to their recent predecessors.
How a character is portrayed should define whether or not something is offense rather than simply what they wear. Wearing a Native American costume isn't an insult against the culture. Blackface/yellow face in movies was on a different scale because they overtly slammed those characters with greatly exaggerated sterotypes and intentional acts of stupidity. They were intended to be laughed at. The characters from Bravely Second are not portrayed in a negative light nor do they cross any threshold of acceptability. There will always be some people who cry about stuff like this, but if they get butt hurt so easy tough crap. -3DS: Despite the choice that irritated some to not initially bring the normal new 3ds stateside the system had a strong run. It dominated in Japan and was shaking its money maker out West. A lot of new games of various genres from multiple developers kept things interesting. Without the 3DS success, Nintendo would be in dire straights.
-Amiibo: Nintendo's decision to release these puppies especially with poor shipment quantities made them a must have toy that earned Nintendo heaps of money. They've been on of their biggest success stories. Sadly though now that most Amiibo are no longer rare it seems the craze is dying down considerably and their recent attempts to milk it with Animal Crossing amiibo/game/cards was a total flop. If they don't come up with some creative ways to utilize these, they'll wind up being a one year wonder.
-Wii U: Though several popular games came out, the system was a gigantic bomb. The sales in every region were vastly below the competition and the software sales with few exceptions have continued to suck. What is worse is they made a lot of moves that irritated gamers such as digital only Fatal Frame, giving American gamers the middle finger when talking about collectors editions of titles, releasing games missing key features such as no online play with Mario Party, and then the long hiatus between big releases leading to the ultra depressing end of the year filler releases most of which bombed horribly in every way. Lets not forget the continued failure to reduce the price of the Wii U when its competitors are all near the same price point! Oh and their marketing for it and most of the games were total poop (aside from Splatoon/MMaker).
So not a horrible year at all from Nintendo thanks to the 3ds support and hit with Amiibo which helped them see profits, but sad to see how underwhelming and poorly handled the Wii U was once again. Continuously handling consoles and affiliated games poorly yields many concerns heading toward the NX era. Sure it might have cool features, but we have seen many handhelds/consoles with Nintendo that have cool features that are often under utilized and go to waste. Can Nintendo market the NX? Does it have enough juice to compete with the Xbox/PS4? Can they finally attract 3rd party developers? Can they remember the value of online play and match the servers of Live/PSN? Can they make a controller people actually want to use? Can they release more than a couple must have titles a year?
@rjejr The Splat/Smash bundles are in the system for $299 right now. The price won't be discounted until Black Friday and then it'll go back to $299. Stores aren't supposed to display/sell the console yet though but as we've seen with Amiibos, many stores goof up.

@rjejr I totally agree on the price cuts. I thought Nintendo was foolish to not do one for last year's holiday season when they still had a chance to breathe life into the system. They failed to do so and saw every other console continue to outsell the U. Now here we are a year with the U on its death bed and still no price cuts at all. They come out with system bundles that are exclusive to one store only which is all kinds of stupid. They are a year away from officially killing the U so if they want to carry any hype into the NX phase they need a drastic cut to the console price. Nobody is going to care if they do a $20-$40 off the retail price especially with the PS4/One will have discounts as they did last year. $199-$229 should be the target at the very least.
Nope those are sequels. It just packages together the games on a single disc which was initially available in the New Mario U system bundle. The original individual games are now out of production.
@JLPick After all the chapters are added? Fatal Frame isn't an episodic adventure, the levels of the story just play out in chapters. The game that is coming out is 100% done with nothing to add. This is just a case of NOA being cheap fools that love to piss on their fanbase. All this decision does is reduce their sales even more and make their retail lineup even more devoid of life.
Well at least the idiots were stupid enough to go to social media with their plans so no harm was caused. Kind of sad they were initially released, but hopefully they are locked away for a long long time.
@Mr_Action
You mean the innocent ones that are shot while attacking cops, resisting arrest, rioting, killing 9 year olds in their beds while they are doing homework, destroying property, dealing/using illegal weapons/drugs? Those are criminals, just like these two idiots.
@Peach64
Nintendo often has gimmicks that don't pan out or are often under utilized so I'm not a fan of the hybrid idea. Likely it would be something nice in theory but bad in real world application. They need to focus on what sells consoles to developers....power and online functionality. Getting 3rd parties to buy in is essential since Nintendo takes years to get non-Mario milked games out the door.
@AyeHaley Skylanders is still atop of the toy-to-life gaming bandwagon and its action figure sales are #1. That makes it a pretty good choice especially since Activision has been active in keeping the brand alive across all Nintendo platformers.

Getting 3rd parties to buy in is essential since Nintendo takes years to get non-Mario milked games out the door.

@AyeHaley
Skylanders is still atop of the toy-to-life gaming bandwagon and its action figure sales are #1. That makes it a pretty good choice especially since Activision has been active in keeping the brand alive across all Nintendo platformers.
