The trend of Gunman Clive games being affordably priced looks set to continue on the Switch, with Swedish indie developer Bertil Hörberg revealing the previously announced HD Collection (containing the first and second game) will arrive on Nintendo's hybrid platform on 17th January for $3.99 / €3.99.
Hörberg made the announcement via Twitter, while joking how people should buy it, as the release date happens to be his Birthday. Here are the tweets:
As we previously noted, the collection was originally released on the Wii U in 2015. The first game and sequel were also made available on 3DS in 2012 and 2015. Both titles have drawn comparisons to the Mega Man series.
Will you be picking up this collection on release? Have you played it before? Let us know in the comments.

Love this game. I will definitely buy it again.
I’ll get it. I’ve never played the second game but it sounds like it’s as good as the first game (according to this website anyways).
Please make a third game after this collection. I want a Gunman Clive 3 so to complete the trilogy.
@Triforce79, You can look up reviews for both games and the exact double HD pack was released originally on Wii U, I believe both games reviewed exceptionally well all around as well 3.99 for both titles is a good deal. Both titles are great fun and if you are into platformers of the Mega Man flavor you will find a lot to like . I highly recommend getting them if you have never played them, personally I like the 3DS versions better just for the stereoscopic 3D effect both titles look amazing on the 3DS the 3D effect is really great in both titles and both are a lot of fun to play through.
$4?! Daaaaang! Wasn't that the price for just one of them before?
$4? Be mad not to
Beat both of these on 3DS. Fun games.
3.99 baby that's a great deal.
But can it do this?
First played this game on my 3DS, then on my WiiU, and now it looks like I’ll be playing it on my Switch too.
Solid for the price.
Great games!!
Love to play them
4 dollarydoos?! I'lll get it!
The games are short but definitely worth this price (if not more). The additional playable characters of course adds to the re-playability.
This is good but the company seems to be living of Gunman Clive ports now. Aside from ports, he’s only ever made four different games.
Heyo Bertil, I'd hoped to see you at the last Sweden Game, so I could say thank you for these games. Played them on Wii U and they're so delightfully bonkers, with that proper oldschool Megaman DNA coursing through their veins.
I hope they do real well on Switch!
Given it’s my birthday the week after I’ll have to buy it. Well that and because they’re good games at a bargain price.
I may never get around to playing it, but for this price - Happy Birthday dude
Got it on Wii U and 3DS. Might tripple dip.
Is he going to sell it and then remove from the eShop like he did it with the Android app? that I paid for it and now is nowhere to be found.
at that price im happy to buy again. I played the first on 3ds but i have never played the sequel!
Really good games
We really need Sunsetriders on modern consoles..
Until then, these are probably the best substitute games.
For just $4? Wow. Ya I'll take em
Fun games and I'll gladly buy just to support the devs and their very fair pricing!
@cheetahman91 I beat the 3DS version of Gunman Clive 2 and was just as good as GC1. Was so fun, I almost wanted to kiss a random asian women on the street, to celebrate.
But yeah well worth just for GC2.
Day one for sure.
For only $4 this is a must-buy! Lots of fun on any and every platform.
well that's a steal at that price. ill take 20
Definitely double dipping at that price. Great games, can't wait to play them again!
These will always be "meant" for the 3D on the 3DS. But they're so good, I'm excited to have them on Switch as well. Easiest five dollar decision one could make.
Worth every penny.
oh, for that price I'll totally re-buy these after enjoying them on 3DS
Fun games with cool style... played both on 3DS.
Hopefully #3 is on the way to Switch.
I have both 3DS games but never got around to playing the second one. For that price I'll happily double dip.
I will happily buy it again!
For that price, buying it again.
As others have said, for $4 i'll likely double-dip.
