Re: Talking Point: Does It Bother You That Big Games Companies Are Using GenAI?

@Filthy I'm pretty sure on concepting stage you don't put that on the game at once. Because people do photobash a lot from what I read, and I actually didn't really hear that appearing down the pipeline, while it seems that AI generated asset can happen already (at minimum, there's one happening on expedition 33)

> Otherwise it’d leave lots up for interpretation and be all: ”Imagine this fantastical forest, but yeah all the cubes are glowing rocks, and the cones are trees. Don’t worry about the checkered floor, it’s actually going to be purple grass.”
You know that there's like, generic asset they can use, right? Or just make a sketch, if this is for the designer to show to the artist for them to have an idea how it will look like. Like, on which part do you mean?

If it's the beginning concepting, a sketch will be far better because you'll have it clearer in your head instead of fiddling with the generative AI, trying and hoping it will generate the right one.

If it's making the example maps already, what is wrong with just using free assets? And it's not like the generative AI is going to help here?

^Of course there's also this fact that the concept artists people already said that they don't find it helping.

Okay. Let's pick on this for a second. Why do we need gen AI for concepts or placeholders? ESPECIALLY PLACEHOLDERS. Concepts you can just go with stickman or something, you don't need to go super crazy--you just need to have enough that the artist/whoever got some of your vision and they can continue on. There's reasons why revisions exist in the timeline.

And placeholders. Why do we need gen AI'd placeholders? Won't it just make it hard to find out which one needs replacing? Having a placeholder be clear (like lorem ipsum for example, is wayyyyy clearer. You can easily find it because you know exactly what the placeholder was)

@HugoGED I'm not sure what you mean since I can just play the digital games that was bought on another account just fine, and on the same console as well.

Granted, both have the same console as primary.

(So there's account A and B, and both have the same console as primary. And the games bought on B can be easily played by account A without issue, as long as it's already loaded in the system. You have to run it on B so it loads properly (the catridge icon on top of the icon changing to filled), then you can play it on account A without issue)

Already Preordered and just waiting for it to be unlocked, gosh it sounds amazing and my favorite reviewer also has very glowing words about the game. Had been hearing from people who already got it too and gooooooooooosh, sounds very fun. I can't wait!!

Re: Opinion: Why Focus On Silksong's Difficulty When We Need To Talk About How Cute It is?

darkfenrir

Because I want to play it and can't? Like, I have tried HK and I have to pretty much rebuy it on Steam just because the difficulty becomes too hard on the Switch system and the only reason I managed to finish that one is thankfully, the existence of mods on PC...

I wanted to buy Silksong on Switch 2 as well but like, without something to help curb the difficulty it became really difficult?

I'm not sure why people said that people will say it's easy game if there's options though, like, I'm 100% sure everyone still say celeste is difficult even if there's literally option to allow you double jump to infinity and no damage? But anyway, people will judge with the "normal" difficulty in general so I'm not sure what's the issue.

Edit: Also wanting to note is that, I want to play it and not watch it (it's a game, there's a reason it's more fun playing that watching, I"m sure you understand. And not everyone feels triumph on defeating hard bosses because like, I played AC6, which isn't too hard other than one boss at the end of chapter 4, which I can win against after hours of trying... and know what I feel? Relief I don't have to do it again. Not everyone got triumph, okay?

I wish it's 5$ tbh, it feels like a far more palatable price point. Will I be happier if it's for free (or free for NSO member)? Of course, that means I'll get it for free.

But 5 bucks I still think is a reasonable pricepoint and so I'm waiting for that discount hopefully lmao

For people who are looking to get it on Steam, remember to see that it will also install Easy Anti Cheat and you have to uninstall it manually once you uninstall the game. It changes my mind from playing on Steam to buying on Switch to be honest

I think it should still run smooth on Switch since Megaton Musashi runs ok from the little I played on Switch
