For me I lose interest really fast if there's a lot of time between the initial hype and the release. Often I'm done with a game already before it's even launched. A good example is Monster Hunter Rise, I was really excited when the demo dropped, played it a bunch and watched a ton of content on youtube. Now they released a new trailer and it's still a few months away and I really don't care anymore.
I don't think companies should be hyping up their games this much untill a month before release, people just don't have that big of a concentration span.
But I guess hype directly correlates to stock values and shareholders only care about money.
Funny how people get massively triggered because they disagree with a simple design decision capcom made that doesn't even affect them in the slightest...
"A cliffhanger version of the game was released on the Apple Arcade for iOS devices on September 4th, 2020 in anticipation of the full game coming to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2021."
Just got on chapter 5 of the first Trails of Cold Steel. I hope the game will start picking up some pace soon because it really starts to feel like a chore. Ori and the Will of the Wisps on the other hand is a blast to play through.
Some of my most played games are F2P. They tend to have more updates and the devs actually listen to the community in a lot of cases. As long as all of the PvE content is manageable for F2P players it's fine in my book.
Then again ubisoft has predatory microtransactions in some of their full price games, so it will probably suck.
If Nintendo was just willing to work with their fans instead of working against them, all of this wouldn't have mattered and it would just be considered a nice homage to a fan.
All the starcraft 2 developers left to form their own studio because the CEO didn't feel like it was making enough money, despite it still being hugely populair in korea.
Then theres ofc the blitzchung controversy and diablo fans gad to settle for a mobile game that nobody wanted.
Blizzard just doesn't care about their games or the fanbase anymore. My expectations for OW2 and Diablo 4 are that they will be lazy cashgrabs that's full of pay2progress microtransactions.
He is right tho, it's a widespread problem in the gaming industry. Customers getting screwed over time after time when they pre-order a hyped up game that turns out to be a pile of **** on releaseday. It's just not worth it anymore to pre-order games or back anything on kickstarter these days.
I never played the gbc game but I would like a remake if they do the single player component justice. Although I've kind of given up hope on future pokemon games in general. Their latest releases have been either really mediocre or aimed at kids and non-gamers.
Last year I got some injuries from playing bass. It started with this tingling feeling in my hand when playing parts where I have to really stretch my fingers. Later it started to hurt, even when I wasn't playing. Luckily I didn't try to play through the pain and identified it was RSI before it got really bad. I took a break for 4-6 months and fixed my technique so I don't play with a bend wrist anymore.
@redpanda0310 the Let's Go series is a watered down version of the originals. It's still a good game and functions well as a gateway game for Pokemon Go players into the mainline series. But it's just really not worth replaying imo. The originals (and firered/leafgreen even more) are timeless classics.
The placement of Tyrants claw in the NA version looks so weird compared to the rest his body. Like he's lunging forward with his wrist extremely bend, it looks so unnatural.
Got the castlevania collection but I can't really get used to the outdated gameplay. It's just way to frustrating for me. I'll just stick with bloodstained. Guess it will be the same with the other collections.
Love the idea, I would be totally play this for a week and then have it collecting dust next to my pair of dumbells, DDR dance-pad, rowing machine etc.
After 1 hour of playing the demo I'm still kinda undecided wether I like it or not. I was also pretty dissapointed with Octopath Traveler so I'm definitely not going to risk it with a pre-order.
So its just a round arena that spawns infinite waves of enemies till you die? From the trailer is feels like the whole gameplay is strafing left or right and holding the attack button. Everything about this game sounds incredibly bland and boring.
I'm pretty sure the only reason for this is that Nintendo will make more money on each sale. It won't help the mess that is the e-shop in any way. We need a rating system! There are lots of qol improvements they could make that would be easy to implement. For example have games on your wishlist show up first the sales tab or add an ignore list.
Tried the monster hunter demo and so far it seems pretty good. I will most likely wait for the pc version tho. I'm also playing my way through Trails of Cold Steel (the first one). And it's not my new years resolution, but if I get at least 30 minutes of Ring Fit squeezed in this weekend I'm pretty happy.
My experience with netflix on the WiiU has been terrible, at least 1 sec delay between any input. By far the worst way to watch netflix for me. And I assume the 3ds wasn't much better.
@BloodyMurder barely anyone cares that the game is censored. The game sold poorly in europe because it only had a limited edition release and there wasn't any marketing. Also it's considered to be the worst game in the series by many.
As long as it's gonna be at least as good as the 2nd one, I really don't care if I have to wait 2-3 more years. I really love the first 2 games so I have really high hopes for the 3rd entry.

Re: Diablo II: Resurrected Is Coming To The Nintendo Switch This Year
I really love Diablo 2, one of my all-time favorite games.
But then again Blizzard today is a joke, they have butchered about every franchise they have left.
Only getting this if it reviews well.

@redpanda0310 on the wiki it says:
"A cliffhanger version of the game was released on the Apple Arcade for iOS devices on September 4th, 2020 in anticipation of the full game coming to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2021."
So I guess it's a demo?

Re: Switch Exclusive Project Triangle Strategy Looks Set To Scratch That Final Fantasy Tactics Itch
I have high hoped but Octopath Traveler was a pretty big dissapointment for me. I hope this game will have a lot more depth to it.

Everything about the trailer looked incredibly boring. One of the worst announcements in the direct for me.

Only played Razors Edge, looking forward to play the first 2.
Re: World's End Club Is A Surprise Addition To The Switch Catalogue From The Makers Of Danganronpa
Sounds fun and the iOS version has decent ratings. So I might give it a go.
Re: Pyra and Mythra Are Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Newest DLC Fighters
Not so exciting but I also dont hate it.
Had a lot of fun with XC2 but I guess I was hoping for someone with a more unique fighting style.
Re: Bloodstained's Miriam Is Coming To Blasphemous This Week In A Free Update
I was still on the fence on Blasphemous, but this crossover is definitely a solid argument to get it.

I've just gotten back into it after taking 6 months or so off. Just reached world 9, so I guess it's gonna take sometime before I finish it.

It doesn't really surprise me since Nintendo doesn't seem to see the demand for social interaction in (online) gaming.

Re: Activision Blizzard Says Overwatch 2 Won't Be Released This Year
Don't expect too much from it, blizzard right now is a trainwreck.
Their last major release was full lies, false advertisements and they unlawfully tried to prevent customers from getting refunds.
They stopped supporting heroes of the storm e-sports and basicly screwed over anybody who was working in that scéne.
All the starcraft 2 developers left to form their own studio because the CEO didn't feel like it was making enough money, despite it still being hugely populair in korea.

It's pretty disturbing tbh
Re: Fatal Frame Turns 20 This Year, And Series Producer Keisuke Kikuchi Wants To "Celebrate It In Some Way If Possible"

Also it's considered to be the worst game in the series by many.
