Resident Evil Revelations

Last year, Capcom suffered a leak revealing a game called Resident Evil Outrage was scheduled for a Q4 2021 release.

As previously stated by Capcom insider Dusk Golem, this title is apparently Resident Evil Revelations 3 (or at least was originally named that at some point during development) and will be a "Switch-focused RE game" but not exclusive to the platform.

The same insider has now backed up previous claims - stating the game will arrive "within a year of [Resident Evil] Village's release" which is due out in May this year, and will be part of Capcom's big 25th anniversary celebrations for its long-running survival horror series.

"This is not from me, but for the record, Revelations 3 is coming out within a year of Village's release date, either late 2021 or early 2022.

"Releases as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations, along with Village, almost definitely going to be a Switch timed exclusive. But that'll be announced later this year, for now Village is deserving of the attention, and out in just a few months now!"

Dusk Golem goes on to state how the game is "100%" running on the RE Engine that Capcom used for Monster Hunter Rise and while it's a "timed exclusive", it'll be releasing "on everything" as a cross-generation game. It was also mentioned how Rebecca would still be the protagonist:

"I first heard about Rev 3 in 2017 that it'd star Rebecca, and I've been updated several times over the years its a Rebecca game still. I'm semi aware of who the 2nd & 3rd protagonists are too, both returning characters, but these lips are zipped for now."

Dusk Golem previously shed light on a new Monster Hunter game for Switch well before the official announcement - explaining how it would be running on the RE Engine.

The last entry in the Revelations line was Resident Evil Revelations 2 - an episodic take on the survival horror series, which originally launched in 2015 and surfaced on Switch in 2017.
