@Zeldafan79 how can you be so hypocrite? Both your username and profile pic are stolen from copyrighted Nintendo IP, yet you judge others who do the same.
@johnvboy not saying the switch is finished, it is still selling really well. But I doubt it can keep up the momentum from last year while the world slowly goes back to normal and the PS5/XboxX/Steam Deck starts to become readily available.
And looking at the stock prices, investors tend to agree.
Nintendo stock were most likely overvalued due to a combination of record breaking profits during the covid era and expectations of a switch pro.
But be realistic, while switch sales are still really healthy, they've most likely peaked out. Nintendo is almost out of Wii U games to port and without it they can't keep up their pace of releases. Competition getting way ahead in terms of power, making it harder to port modern games to the switch without making bigger and bigger sacrifices.
I'm not sure how long Nintendo wants to milk the succes of the switch but at some point they have to move forward. Looking back at Nintendo's track record there is gonna be a big chance their next console is gonna be a big failure.
If I'd still own my NES I then I would pay up to $15 for a copy, I'd value sealed games equally to loose carts. But I really don't care about collecting games and tbh I like modern games much more then the old rough NES titles.
Personally I hate these kind of gifts/DLC that make you start with extra items. I want to play the game the way it was intended. These starting items either cheapens the experience (if pokéballs turn out to be scarce in the beginning) or have no impact at all. They better stick to cosmetic items as pre-order bonuses IMHO.
So far I've been pretty dissapointed by the Pokémon games I've played so far on the switch, so this must get some very good reviews for me to give it a try.
@BloodNinja LoL didn't start out as a wc3 fan made mod. But it was based on dota wich was made in the wc3 map creator (wich was included in the game, no modding involved).
The biggest problem is that CC or paypall details often automatically saves when making e-shop purchases. So next time you want to buy something you often don't even have to put in a password.
@darkswabber bragging about how many shinies you have is pretty pathetic anyway. If you wanna do the grind you should do it for yourself, not for some fame on the internet.
The Switch is nearing the end of it's lifecycle, Playstation and Xbox are slowly gaining more traction while the consoles are getting more available, Steam releasing a hybrid competitor that looks to be better in almost every aspect. And Nintendo is almost out of WiiU games they can port easily for a cashgrab.
Then theres the OLED switch, while it could be a nice upgrade for people that play handheld, it's another revision that completely ignore the switch gamers that play mostly docked. Also it doesn't adres any of the current issues the Switch has (joycon drift, lagging and impossible to navigate e-shop interface etc).
So while Nintendo is still on top of the console industry, I and many investors expect Nintendo dominance to drop drasticly in the coming years. And if we look at Nintendo's history there is a very big chance that Nintendo's next console will fail miserably.
@Rika_Yoshitake So you're saying Nintendo goes out of their way changing the game because they didn't like a specific content creator? Seems like a d*ck move.
I'd love more Fatal Frame, I've been playing the Wii version of FF2. But tbh I'd wish I had the PS2 version instead, the gameplay has really gone downhill since Nintendo got involved. I will get this one on steam if it's a good port, even tho it's the wealest entry in the series.
I will be playing some more Danganronpa V3. So far it has been a brilliant series, even tho none of the characters have any depth beside their main catchphrase/gimmick.
I might also go back to my WiiU and play some Wii games, mainly Project Zero 2 and Metroid Prime 3 (am I the only one who hates the motion controls in metroid prime?)
The battles were great, character development was fantastic. But god that gameplay loop became insanely tedious really fast.
The monastary sections just ruined the whole game for me, every time I got to one I took increasingly longer breaks from the game. To the point where I had to really push myself to finish one path. I can't see myself every doing a second playthrough, even tho there was a lot about the game that I really loved.
If it was a straight port from the original I might have bought it, but all these QoL changes they are implementing (team wide xp share and getting rid of HMs) is making the game really uninteresting for me. Teambuilding is a joke, you end up with 2 good Pokémon that do all the work and 4 terrible Pokémon you caught early that outleveled anything you can catch in the wild so you might as well keep them in even tho you're probably never gonna use them.
They are right... It took me less then 10 seconds to feel that the joycons are among the worst controllers I've ever held in my hands. They aren't build for comfort or ergonomics, they are build to have as much functions as possible, even tho all of them are mediocre at best.
Rare games are currently at an all time high and I got the feeling that we're entering a heavy recession in the upcoming years. Investing in luxory goods like videogames seems like a terrible idea right now.
The other concern I have with this is that it's really hard to assess the value of a rare item when it isn't being traded. I assume it's gonna be unlikely that someone buys all shares and get the item, so most likely it's gonna be in possession of the company forever.
@GrailUK Switch Pro won't launch us into next gen but will improve some of the games that are running poorly. Also it will be the only way that we'll be able to properly browse the e-shop.
I kinda feel that the the switch pro was always in the works but it would be either too expensive or to slow to produce because of the chip shortage. So they decides to bring out the OLED version for now and save the switch pro for when the market is more favorable.
This is the second revision that only targets players that play in handheld. There's very little love for the gamers that play on tv. It also feels like nobody really asked for this upgrade. While the switch has tons of performance issues (it can't even handle their own e-shop very well).
So let's hope they'll announce a switch pro (or even better a switch 2) in 2022 so we can finally run our games with decent performance.
@Noelemahc I don't think Diablo and a MOBA are totally different gameplay wise. With a MOBA you have to be way more patient and time your attack/skills, it required a lot more accuracy. I doubt a controller will give the same kind control over your character. Diablo is all about rushing into enemy packs and spam skills till everythings dead. But even there I feel keyboard and mouse is the superior way to play Diablo.
@mr-duster Ah you're right. I haven't personally played it since it itsn't my kind of game, but I'm glad people are enjoying it. It does give some hope for future titles, since I really want Pokémon Legends: Arceus to be good.
Not on Nintendo but I'm really thinking about getting Yakuza: like a dragon on steam just for the full version of Virtua Fighter 2 and 5. There's also Outrun, Super hang on, Fantasy Zone and Space Harrier. And a ton more mini games outside the arcade.
I just finished the free version on steam and barely found it disturbing at all. I was expecting a lot more from it, but I guess knowing what you're in for makes for some unrealistic expectations.
Doesn't Nintendo ever get tired of it's own bullsh*t? Nobody cares whether they are trying to make more profit, yet they feel the need to lie about it.
I had to watch the trailer with sound off, that song was abysmal. The gameplay looks lovely, but if the soundtrack us gonna be as terrible as in the trailer it's gonna ruin the whole experience.
@KateGray Thanks for the diary, I've been slowly getting into visual novels and from the sound of it this feels like the perfect VN for me.
For the metacritic score you got to keep in mind that this is a very niche genre. With the very few reviews it seems like it's heavily skewed to critics who like visual novels and are okay with the disturbing content.
So basicly if you're into that kind of stuff you'll probably love it, if you're not, then it's probably not the game for you.
Both parties here suck. The leakers breached their NDA and TPC is trying to bully individuals with BS claims like "irreparable injury to the brand". Just by actively pursuing this lawsuit they did more damage to their own brand than the leakers ever did.
