It's right there in the statement - the issue is not the AI protections themselves, it's what recourse he has if Capcom goes back on their word. If he has a union contract, he gets SAG-AFTRA fighting for him. If he doesn't, he has to go it alone.

@PapaGlitch That and Metaphor ReFantazio last year. Other companies are making the kinds of games that S-E used to be known for and succeeding wildly. There is a lesson they could take from this, but they will likely make FF17 an AI-coded Soulslike instead.

I know we get a lot of complaints here about the Switch games, and they're not wrong, but clearly the people who have issues with SwSh and SV are a minority.

I've had a Series X on my list for "when the price drops" but that clearly isn't going to happen.

I was fortunate to get a preorder from Best Buy (though it took two hours). I assumed that the My Nintendo would be a lottery among whoever signed up. Disappointing, but it's probably better that they continue sending invites until either everyone has gotten one or Switch 2s are on shelves regularly so no one misses out.

I knew it would be a pain, but didn't expect it to be this much of one. Multiple new currencies for the trade feature seems excessive. It should have been like Pokemon Go, where the 'dust had multiple uses.

Is there a reason you need to transfer every Pokemon into home for this to work? It should be able to read the Pokedices from the game, including whether it was caught natively if they care about that.

@T317 I'm with you. I have no interest in the Lego sets which are just 1x1s forming a picture. I have Perler beads or, you know, a computer if I want pixel art. Give me Mario, Luigi and Yoshi minifigs on one of the stages.

The people who liked FF6 probably voted it high in all three incarnations. I agree that one entry per game, with notes about the average the other versions got, would have been better.

IIRC, this one also had relationship mechanics and some softcore ecchi images of the female party members that you "befriended". Fun, but I was uncomfortable playing it on the bus.

It can both be true that Palworld is better than ScarVi and that they broke the law by using TPC's assets.

Nobody thinks Palworld is a bad game because Game Freak did such a great job with ScarVi. But some have rightly pointed out that the designers were so incredibly lazy about monster design. If they had come up with something other than "gold Lucario" or "Wooloo, just Wooloo", then more people would take it for what it is rather than criticizing them for ripping off Nintendo.

This is, what, the fourth time they've done this? I think I spent more time in the eShop "buying" these games than I have playing them.

@gcunit My physical preorder (US) was delayed by 5 days, so I think S-E didn't make as many cartridges as they needed. Whether this was because they underestimated demand or were trying to drive people to digital is anybody's guess, but I'm sure there will be more copies available soon enough.

Switch is a hockey desert. EA does't port their franchise (which has both sim and arcade modes) and the indie games that appear in the shop are more focused on funny fights than actual hockey. Heck, the best hockey on Switch may be Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, where you can at least beat up the Galbadian team. There's definitely space for a game like WGH, but someone has to actually make it.

I got my NES just at the right time for big-name sequels (this, SMB2, Simon's Quest) to be my first games other than the pack-ins, so I'm actually pretty excited about this. I certainly understand why most people aren't.

Still have my gold Zelda II cart, but the battery is dead and I don't have the time to play through all at once.

Still waiting for Theatrhythm Dragon Quest to hit the US.

Please consider my level, 200.6%. It's a long Symphony of the Night-inspired stage in Super Mario World's ghost house with an upside-down castle. I tried to put a lot of attention in the details, like having all the clocks be in the replica clock tower and all the lanterns having a coin, as Castlevania lamps have hearts.
