Earlier today we shared the usual Nintendo Download Update details for Europe, which included the details for SteamWorld Heist arriving on Wii U. Well, some of the details.
Though its full price will be $19.99 / €19.99 / £14.99, Image & Form has passed on details of launch promotions it's running when the game arrives on 30th September (at midnight local time):
- 25% off at launch = $14.99 / €14.99 / £10.99.
- If you already own SteamWorld Heist for 3DS OR SteamWorld Dig for 3DS OR SteamWorld Dig for Wii U, you actually get 33% off at launch = $13.39 / €13.39 / £9.99
That certainly makes the Wii U version a little more tempting, especially for Dig fans that have been waiting to go on HD heists. These deals only apply to the eShop version, naturally, not the disc copies in stores.
Are you planning to pick up SteamWorld Heist on Wii U this week?

Even though there is no discount, I think I'll get the disc version of this and Neo Racing. I like my physical media.
Not enough to make me purchase it again since I've already beat it. Go below 10$ US and we'll see. How about 33% off for each of those we own since I own all 3. 😉
I'm happy with the 3DS version, but it's nice to see it on Wii U.
Well that's pushed me in the digital direction I think. I was 50/50 on if I should get the steamworld disk but at £10 it half the price for me so thats made my mind up I think.......unless anyone thinks the dlc is worth having in the starter pack!?!
This is a 3DS game for me... but play it any way you can/want!
yes
This is very tempting with 33% being essentially 50% off the normal price. I just hope the HD is worth it.
Played through it twice (once before and once after the Outsider DLC), and plan to get it again. The discount does help!
@XCWarrior I totally used to feel this way. But it's also nice having hundreds of games at you finger tips. My 3ds has near 100 games loaded on it, including this. Nice to not carry cartridges around. Now I only get physical games if I'm not sure if I will keep them. Most of my PS3/4 collection just gets sold on eBay for the next game. But I know I'll never get rid of my 3ds with 6 Zelda games loaded on it, metroids, marios, resident evil, steam world etc.
And this just gives me the reason I needed to get this game for the big screen too.
@Donutman My Wii lost all of its save data after too much use. I almost lost all my 3DS data just this past week when I sent it in just to be the B Button repaired.
I dunno, I like having my massive shelf of games. I still have plenty of eshop titles on my 3DS, easily more than 50. But if I'm going somewhere, I only need the one cartridge for that trip most of the time.
@XCWarrior as sucky as that is, it has always been a lingering issue. I've had 3 gaming pcs that have all died at some point. Lost everything, had to unlock/ replay. I've been lucky that my wii,ds,3ds,wii u, have not had issues. But I know it's lingering there. Disc games do not prevent this. 3ds carts do. But when that day comes, and I want to replay mario 3dworld, then I will enjoy unlocking those levels again.
It is certainly a game well fitted for the 3DS, but I can't wait to try it out on the big screen in HD as well
I own both tho 😅
I own SteamWorld Dig on the Wii U eShop but want to own the physical version of SteamWorld Heist. There's no option for that unfortunately.
I'm getting the disc version even though I own Dig on 3DS and Wii U, and Heist on 3DS. Might as well fill my Wii U shelf up before the end of the system.
How long do the offers last?
I was waiting for a discount on PS4 but now I'll get it on WiiU instead.
Please NoA, bring the Eshop Selects here as well!
Hey, cool!
Also, I just realized I have Steamworld Dig for both 3DS and Wii U and had no idea / never played them.
Nice. I'll get around to picking up Heist, since I really enjoyed Dig. Hopefully they can make another great instalment or some DLC, whether it's for Wii U, 3DS or NX.
I've got heist on the 3DS so i may take advantage of the discount but i have the physical version coming tho.
Nice! That is a pretty darn good discount assuming you own Dig and really, if you don't then what are you waiting for? It's fantastic! I already want the game and a discount like that is making it particularly tempting.
@Captain_Gonru: I would prefer getting the disk version if possible and would likewise like a confirmation. (physical > digital, imo) I've been wanting to try both Dig and Heist and have been holding out for a physical release.
..woo hoo!..the 1st Humble Nindie Bundle, w/Dig, keeps on giving..
..we need more of those...
Nice! I've been waiting for it to hit WiiU, 33% off is great so will be picking it up.
@Captain_Gonru and @Tyranexx - the physical disc, SteamWorld Collection, is also coming to the Americas. It's Rising Star Games doing the distribution for us there, not NOA.
@Peace-Boy we're thinking two weeks.
@imageform Cool, thanks. That should give me enough time to save up.
@imageform: Awesome! Thanks for the confirmation!
I have Dig on my 3DS and Wii U, but I don't have Heist at all. Guess with these discounts now is as good a time as any to get it!
