Shoot 'em up fans will be delighted to hear that a remake of the popular iOS blaster Hyperlight by CatfishBlues Games will be available in November for the New Nintendo 3DS. The console version known as Hyperlight EX is an enhanced version of the original and was developed specifically for the New Nintendo 3DS system.
Hyperlight EX is an high intensity arcade action game in which you control a spaceship that fights against hordes of evil alien monsters in a virtual cosmic environment. Your spaceship has a special capability - it can travel at a Faster Than Light speed (F.T.L.) becoming itself the final weapon. By colliding with enemies in this state the ship can instantly destroy everything it touches.
In the game there are also plenty of other bonus, weapons and entities that can help you overcome the many difficulties you'll be facing, including the battles against the terrific final bosses that await you in the dark side of the universe.
Here are the features which the game boasts:
- Full New Nintendo 3DS controller support.
- Stereoscopic 3D viewing only for New Nintendo 3DS!
- Stunning game graphics, rich in special effects, enemies and explosions!
- Innovative gameplay, immediate and highly rewarding!
- Arcade Mode with 50+ levels, 8 mid-boss stages and 4 final boss battles!
- Infinity Mode with tons of new levels and several mid-boss stages.
- Panic Mode with its peculiar tilt control (uses accelerometer)
- 3 Bonus entities (Drones, Turrets and Plasma Barriers) that will help you in fighting the continuous waves of enemies.
- 7 Bonus weapons (Bomb, Laser, Globe, Crystal, Machinegun, Missle and Virus) that will help you in pulverizing everything on the screen.
- Local Leaderboads for Arcade, Infinity and Panic game modes.
- Achievements system: 40 unlockable medals!
Will you be picking up this high intensity arcade action game when it lands on the New Nintendo 3DS in November?

The logo reminds me of Metroid Prime. I'm sure that was no accident. I see many games trading on similar names to popular games as well.
Interesting! I've always liked shoot-em-ups, so if this one has a nice price, I may just buy it!
Looks right up my alley!
Looks like Super Stardust on PSP, very nice!
Finally, a N3DS game that isn't a horrible Unity cr*p.
Will be buying this one!
It reminds me of Geometry Wars.
Looks fun.
I like what I see here.

Looks pretty hectic. Will see how it reviews.
I assume it uses the 3DS controls, not tilt gyros like the iOS version? I wonder why that one hasn't been updated since 2014. It's being app-shamed ("this might slow down your phone") in iOS 10.1.
Yeah reminds me of super stardust and Galaga legions.
This is good. We need some N3DS games with solid graphics and we also needed more SHMUPS.
Is that... YES! Geometry Wars!
I haven't played it in years, but it was fun. I just wasn't a fan of tilt controls, so it's nice to see these new options.
@Kilroy If it was fun on a system singularly ill-equipped for the genre it's probably fantastic when played with proper controls. I'm tempted to get this just to reward the developer for stepping into the light, and to encourage others to do the same.
I picked up a loose Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the DS for 89 cents at Gamestop. It's been one of my most played games and this appears to hit a similar sweet spot. I'll anxiously await reviews.

If anyone wants an incredible Geometry Wars-like experience on mobile that's cheaper than GW3, this is it. The dev has given the game its own feel too, so it's more than just a clone.
@Kilroy
I love Geometry Wars. In fact GW3 scored perfect 10/10 from several sites including PushSquare.
This... I want it.
Wait, is this different from Hyperlight Drifter?
