Re: Square Enix Aims To Automate 70% Of QA With Generative AI By 2027

billychaos

AI can and never be as good as true human interactions. Im confused why we keep trying ti replace it. Imagine your wife, significant other, or even a friend saying, ‘ We don’t need to spend that much time together or have in-person conversations, this AI already knows what I like and my personality… speak to it instead…”. There was never anything wrong with human communication, we just need to do it more. Instead we are going very far in the other direction; mostly because companies feel like they can save a buck. Any company that has real people I can talk to will always get my highest priority. I hang the phone up on any bots, or automated systems. If companies don’t care to speak to me, then I don’t care to do business with them.

Re: Talking Point: What's The Best Firework Sequence In A Video Game?

billychaos

The Mario Odyssey Jump up sequence was one of the greatest video game sequences I have ever seen. It was so well done within the game to give you a sense of celebration, but if you are old enough to remember playing donkey kong on the arcade cabinet, it also triggered an amazing feeling of nostalgia unlike anything I have seen in a game before. It slightly ‘breaks the fourth wall’ and touches your heart with appreciation of the honor given to the Dk series. I hope we see more things like this in the future. It was a great homage!

Re: Random: This Upcoming PS5 'Cozy Life Sim' Certainly Rings A Bell

billychaos

The copyright and trademark infringement against Nintendo has been so blatant lately, I’m starting to believe it’s all just a money laundering scheme. The copiers don’t even try to make things look different anymore. NOTE: This is just an exaggerated opinion, please don’t take my words as conspiracy theory. However the offenses are so obvious Im starting to get suspicious.

Re: Around 1 In 3 Switch 2 Owners Bought New Pro Controller Despite High Price Point (US)

billychaos

I got one and love it. Just like the original pro its one if the best controllers on the market in my opinion … well its sorta a toss up actually, the XBox series x controller may actually be better, Maybe a tie? The Xbox has seamless integration with the PC which may make it better. I can’t even comprehend playing a controller supported PC game without an Xbox controller. However, the D pad on the switch one is superior. Toss up…

Re: Yakuza 0 Comparison Video May Give Switch 2 The Edge Over PS4

billychaos

There are major data issues with the headline of this article. It's not exactly played on the ps4. It's played in the ps5 via backwards compatibility. Playing games this way already enhances the performance. To do a true non-biased comparison, you need to play it on the native ps4, otherwise it is not a switch 2 vs ps4 comparison but a switch 2 vs ps5. I have a strong hunch that if you see a true comparison on a native ps4, the switch 2 will have an extreme edge. I admit, this just a haunch. But it cannot be proven or disproven until we see that comparison. I'm not sure why anyone would even bother comparing the switch 2 to the ps4 yes play it on the ps5. Any basic study using the scientific method would throw that out immediately.

Re: Nintendo Expects To Sell 15 Million Switch 2 Consoles This Financial Year

billychaos

Given the preorder craze, It probably already sold that much before launch. Unlike the game analyst predictions, I am expecting the switch 2 to outsell the switch 1 within the same time intervals. In other words, year one Switch 2 sales may surpass year one Switch 1 sales: Year two Switch 2 sales will surpass Year two Switch 1 sales… and so on. Only time well truly tell but I have a strong feeling about this based on what we are seeing so far and seeing Nintendo dramatic change in strategy we are use to.

Re: The Company That "Leaked" Switch 2 Is Being Sued By Nintendo

billychaos

I can't believe any company would do this. How could you even get a company off the ground in the first place without understanding corporate laws like insider trading, and trade secrets, etc. Not only did the do it, but they had the balls to do it at one of the worlds biggest trade shows! Anyone here mad or blaming Nintendo for this, you really better look into the law before getting a corporate job. This stuff is not a smack on the hand crime, this is really big stuff, you get a lot of prison time for things like this. One of the biggest white collar crimes.

Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Buying Any Game-Key Card Switch 2 Games?

billychaos

No. Not if I can help it. The only digital service I trust (so far…fingers crossed), is Steam. I have been burned by just about every other company that has offered digital services. For example, I made a horrible mistake of trusting Amazon For their digital music service (Not the current one, the now deprecated one). Others burns include Microsoft, Sony, and Apple. Companies should offer a refund of some portion whenever they take back digital purchases from you. It seems they aren’t actually selling anything, but renting it to you. At least have the honestly to blatantly say this purchase is temporary up front and not buried in a disclaimer, also known as ‘Terms of use’.

Re: Sony Vet Shuhei Yoshida Says Nintendo Is "Losing Their Identity" With Switch 2

billychaos

Allow me to translate his reaction: "To me it was a bit of a disappointment from Nintendo. In a sense, I think Nintendo didn't offer Sony anything, in my opinion. For me, they are always about creating hardware and innovative ideas for us to copy or make our own Sony version of it.
But Switch 2, as we all anticipated, is a more powerful Switch, right? ...And because it's a better Switch, the whole core premise of the Switch 2 is, you know, 'we made things better', and that's something that Sony has been doing already."

Re: Nintendo Isn't Happy About Switch Game Images On Steam

billychaos

Although it was originally my childhood dream, I decided to not pursue a career as a video game developer and instead become a software engineer in a different industry for this exact reason. I can’t imagine putting my lifes work into a creation that is put on the market to earn a living only to have it taken because people feel they should have it for free instead. We live in a capitalist society, thats not how it works. I would go insane chasing after all the sites infringing on my IP. No one works for free and no one creates things for free in a capitalist society. Im not sure why so many feel like a creation should be given to them free when people literally put themselves into debt to try to make an earning or a living off of those creations. Thats the reason why copyright and trademark laws exist… to protect the creators. Trademarks are sort of a nightmare because by law as a holder in the US, you absolutely must pursue all cases where someone has infringed upon on it or else you risk losing the trademark. I had a trademark once and gave it up because I couldn’t keep up with doing that. That was such a soul crushing decision.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Of Valve's Steam Deck Are In - What's It Like Compared To Switch?

billychaos

I feel like this console won't be as successful as expected. Unless Valve themselves comes out and publicly states 'this is not a Nintendo switch alternative' (which they won't). Its the same business plan that has failed for other companies in the past 30 years, which is basically 'build a better specced gameboy'. Atari used it, Sega used it, Sony used it, many more. The same type of audiences that raved about those systems seem to be the same that are raving about the Steam deck. It's one thing if you sit around and say 'This blows Nintendo's [insert handheld name] away', and another thing to actually buy the system. People that like Nintendo systems buy them. People that like these other systems don't buy those systems... but they sure are loud about how much better it is than the Nintendo system. It has been the same dialogue for over 30 years.

Re: Soapbox: Can We Please Retire The Phrase 'Lazy Devs' Already?

billychaos

I absolutely think people should stop saying that. It’s so harmful and incorrect. I am a software engineer/developer and I will never work in the gaming Industry because of comments like this and what Im reading. Almost every game decision that gamers complain about are not the result of the devs themselves… they don’t have that choice nor the jurisdiction. I’ve worked with software devs that left their jobs because crappy decisions were forced onto us. Developers work on these games longer than you end up playing them (about 50-65 hours a week). Yet Gamers insist on blaming the developers for being lazy and not the executive ‘hire ups’ who actually make these bad decisions. It’s not only unfair it’s disheartening to go to work knowing your in this situation. I have a few close friends who left the game industry and for this very reason. Im glad they got out because they are much happier doing other software dev than games.

Re: My Nintendo Physical Rewards Have Disappeared In North America

billychaos

I feel this is for the best. Opportunists have created a very real problem in the US. Instead of using points to obtain items for oneself, it has become practice of obtain them and sell the on eBay for ridiculous prices. It is so bad, inventory sells out so fast, any true collectors miss out and are forced to pay these people. Nintendo never intended these to be ‘business opportunities’. So its ruined and best to just let it go.

Re: Nintendo Demands More Damages In Colopl Lawsuit, Now Suing For A Cool $47 Million

billychaos

I have been biting my tongue to reply to so many posts on this site regarding Nintendo and Lawsuits. I wish my reply was actually a full article on its own on this site and many other gaming sites. Trademark, Patent and Copyright infringement are very serious issues. Lets take trademarks... One particular thing most Gamers dont understand, is when you hold a Trademark you must proactively pursue all infringement cases or else risk losing the Trademark. That is the law! Trust me! I owned a trademark for 10 years and I let it expire because I couldn’t keep up with people infringing on It. I didn’t have a corporate lawyer like Nintendo’s Kirby. When it expires, that means its public knowledge/ domain and anyone has access to it... including your competitors! Nintendo is forced by law to pursue all cases. Just as I was. This is just to hold the Trademark, let alone all the profit and recognition damages that may occur. Patent and Copyrights have their own set of processes you must uphold! I honestly feel like gaming sites should probably run an article on infringement since there are so many cases of it in the gaming industry.

Re: Nintendo Consoles Are Aimed At "Kids And Teens" Says Sega's Toshihiro Nagoshi In Disputed Translation

billychaos

For some reason phrases like 'All ages' and 'Everyone' translates to 'Just kids' for some gamers. I'm actually surprised this is still being said 30 years since I first heard it and 7 generations ago. Yet every Nintendo system had a decent presence of rated 'M' games (after ratings were a thing, of course). It seems like many adults say these things attempt to degrade or make the system less appealing just because it is inclusive to all ages. I must say to them, (pun intended) grow up!

Re: Obituary: Satoru Iwata

billychaos

@RegalSin
First, I want to say I'm not trying to troll your statement or anything. My mother passed away at age 54 a decade ago for very similar reasons which led to Gall bladder Cancer. Unfortunately, there is no 'reason' known why this happens. There is very little research in these types of cancers. The doctor directly told this to my family followed by statement '...there's nothing more we can do.' Naturally, my family almost tore itself apart trying to point the finger at reasons why this happened. It's hard to accept, but it just happens.
I can only hope that Iwata did not suffer as much as my mother did. It was very painful to watch her go through it. My heart sincerely goes out to his family and loved ones.

Re: Muppets Creator Responsible For Those Amazing E3 2015 Digital Event Puppets

billychaos

I don't understand all horrible presentation statements. nintendos presentauon was excellent. It seems there is a divide betwwn what Nintendo is doing and what e3 veiwers see. First thing, Nintendo doesnt seem to put priority to giving game information through e3. They made that clear when they opted out of full presentaions. Nintendo Direct was created to be the official channel of Nintendo information.

Personally, i think Nintendo should bail out of e3 to avoid all the confusion. However, as a gaming company they see the importance of having a presence, even a small on, at an entertainment expo. The miiverse, nintendo direct, and the former nintendo club surveys are the most reliable forms of communication Nintendo has. Most negative comment about nintendo games come from gamers that do not own Nintendo games or Nintendo hardware. E3 is not the dominant source of Nintendos true audience, hence programs like nindies@home and Best buy demo events. I see this years e3 event as a presentation for the dominant e3 goers... the 'others' so to say.
You can pretty much gaurantee that after e3 is done, the next Nintendo direct will have all the exciting news we as fans expect. I apologize in advance for any typos, I'm writing this from a cell phone. 😊

Re: Nintendo Download: 7th May (North America)

billychaos

Splatoon most likely Server Load Testing. great idea. More games should do this in some form. Almost like a beta demo or something. EAs Simcity should have done that. I like how it is split inti three sessions. That way you can tweak them in the downtime.

Re: Talking Point: The Time Is Right For A Nintendo Phone

billychaos

Personally, I think it's more appropriate for Nintendo to make a tablet. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually make a tablet before this generation is over. A stand alone tablet that could double as a wii u gamepad as well. It just seems like the kind of thing they would do (thinking along the lines of wii remote plus).

Re: Research Firm's Black Friday Data Shows Wii U Lagging Behind in Sales

billychaos

I think that data is as good as garbage. I never heard of Infoscout and they don't even appear as a registered company (http://www.hoovers.com/). I think that's just some blog of people that just get data from unreliable sources. Wait for the NPD data.

EDITED ADDITIONAL INFO:
I did a little snooping around on those guys. Their data seems like it would be very unreliable. They collect it from customer surveys from an app (that's only available on android and ios). That alone would produce such skewed data that would be useless for the grand picture. I reiterate what I said before. Wait for the NPD data.

Re: Video: This Is What Watch Dogs Looks Like On Wii U

billychaos

I think this will flop. In my opinion, Ubisoft made a terrible mistake releasing this game at this time. They should have done it earlier or later. Most Wii U gamers who would consider this game, will most like be focusing on Smash Bros. right about now.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Tetrisphere

billychaos

so many people disliked this game but this was actually one of my favorite games on the n64. It had some of the best video game music at the time. I keep hoping it comes to virtual console but I doubt it.

Re: Review: Plain Video Poker (3DS eShop)

billychaos

I like this game a lot. It is for a specific kind of person (people who actually gamble). Any alterations to it would make it not seem authentic. The reason people like me buy games like this is to practice a strategy without wasting any money. $2.99 down the drain is nothing compared to $299 down the drain. I guess only gamblers understand.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3?

billychaos

I'm looking forward to Splatoon. However, what if the 'EA' effect happens? If anyone can recall certain EA games had so much hype before the release. When it was released so many people tried to play it at once they could not support the server requirements. So many people were disappointed and eventually completely turned away from the game even after the server issues were resolved. I don't think anyone has anything positive to say about that game all because of the server issues during it's launch. It's a shame but it happens. I hope Nintendo properly prepares for Splatoon. The focus is online. If that doesn't function properly during launch, people can quickly lose interest for good.
