I'd vote for WTF but I can't see the option.Who needs downgraded ports? Give the Wii and GC games some HD and a budget price and they would sell tons of them for the WiiU.
@Extremist Bad news for you... The retail version exists, but there's no cartridge in the box. Just the download code! I saw this in the Nintendo italian official site...
@kensredemption Yes, we can customize the N3DS but I think it's more important to have games to play on it, possibly localized and without waiting for years...
"It’s finished as Wii title and as of now we have no plans to bring it to Wii U," Naka answered. "Rodea was made specifically for the Wii so players could enjoy it by flicking the remote. If we tried to incorporate those controls into the large Wii U controller it wouldn’t be the same. I would really like for people to play and enjoy it on the Wii as I had originally intended." (Siliconera, 2011) So, how it ended? No gyro or wiimote on the WiiU version?
@Jahir No idea about how it has sold, but I'm still waiting for my retail copy... (And NO, I'm not gonna download it for € 40 and NO, I won't buy it on Amazon).
No discounts on the upcoming Wii games: one step forward with the first three releases, two steps back now. Oh Nintendo... And the lack of a discounted Lego City is obviously a Nintendo's fault too, right?
@White-Wash More info on the official Monolith Soft site: http://xenobladex.jp/character/avatar.html
"Avatar gender, face type, body size (bust size for women), skin (skin color, freckles, cheeks, scars, moles), hairstyle and hair color, shapes and colors of pupils, makeup (eye shadow color, lip color, face paint), voice; you can freely combine the various features."
@Ninty4thewin says "But what everyone is forgetting is that these aren't Skylanders, they can be used in multiple games." Skylanders unlock new characters and new levels as a "normal" DLC and can be used in different games of the series. Amiibos unlock only skins and weapons as microtransactions do, so basically one should use every single amibo at least with 10 different games to balance the purchase.
@liveswired Oh yeah, that would be great for Nintendo. € 40 for a digital game. No way. Just print more copies. I really hope this is not their new policy.
I agree with all the younger or new gamers that this is a good chance for them to play such titles, which are brand new in their eyes, but please understand the older players! Many of us need new games to keep intact our old love for gaming and this is why we prefer new not-so-perfect IP (like Wonderful 101 and the upcoming S.T.E.A.M.) instead of perfect old classics. (I'll bury the hatchet saying that I'm just replaying now Metroid Prime even if I still have it for my GC but I'm also upset for the lack of a Metroid U)
@BenAV Especially since it costs as a brand new game, or as 4 Metroid Prime Trilogy if you prefer! The Wii ports of games like Pikmin 1&2 and DKJB were sold at budget price (€29 if I remember well). Can't understand why they ask € 45 for these...
Hitting a Decoration is like winning the lottery! Luckly one can play it even with arrows (Up to jump and Right to shoot) because Space and Enter are too loud for "office gaming"!
The actual publisher, Nordic Games, acquired this and other titles from the original publisher, JoWooD Entertainment but they acquired THQ too, which had many more attractive IPs like De Blob, Red Faction and Deadly Creatures. I wonder if they will work on these games... A more polished Deadly Creatures, with realistic HD graphics would be great!
Will they release the Mario Edition alone on the eShop? In that case I'd give it a try, but I'll never spend money for 2 games I'm not sure I'll like. The "2 games in a confusing box at full price" is a bad commercial move in my opinion.
Nothing for me this week after the last Thursday madness! No Wii games? A pause is not too bad since we don't even have the time to play them! They should release them one every two weeks...
I guess I can still play with my old fat Arcade 360 only thanks to an external HD in which installing my CDs. It's time to give WiiU owners the chance to do the same thing!
When I saw +200 comments on an article written the very same day that Hyrule received its DLC and Metroid Trilogy was released I asked myself "What are they talking about? It must be very important". Then I realized that YouTube celebrities exist. Oh dear... Maybe I'm just an old, boring aged gamer, but this is too much for me! If only I were at home now, playing with my WiiU...
I totally agree with @StarDust4Ever. "Normal" games can't be polluted by microtransactions. If I need arrows and bombs for my Link in ZeldaU I want to buy them with virtual rupees, not with real money.
@OorWullie Thanks! I cannot wait to replay MP 1 & 2 with the wiimote since I missed Trilogy, and I hope Nintendo will put on the eShop some of the New Play Controls Wii games like Pikmin 1 & 2 and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. I bet many new players would love them.
@whodatninja @Fullbringlchigo Thanks! That means I can leave the console in standby at his house and the next day everything will be ok, right? I know I can't unplug it, but I wasn't sure about the meaning of that orange light that I see sometimes when my console is in standby: WiiU not only looks for updates, but it can download too then...
Some questions from a digital noob: I'm gonna download both Metroid (heard is about 8GB) and the Hyrule dlc + update at a friend's house. Does the console download and install things even when it's off? In that case, I should just start the downloads and turn it off, leaving the console doing its job during the night?
We all know that western players prefer home consoles and the game could use wisely the gamepad, better than MH3U did, showing its potential. I read in an article that risk taking isn't rewarded by Nintendo: well, maybe they could help Capcom porting their game to sell easily tons of WiiU in Japan and many more copies in the West than its uncomfortable portable version.
@GH05T No money, maybe? I'm a precarious worker in Italy and gaming is an expensive hobby here. I had no problem upgrading my old DS (the huge gray one) with a DSi because the difference were huge, but N3DS doesn't appeal me at all. Unfortunately, I can't play any big ActionRPG, JRPG or survival horror on my WiiU because, well, I can't find any. Now I can still buy some good 360 game for € 10, but soon I'll have to buy a new home console...

Re: Pokémon Shuffle Available to Download Right Now, for Free, in Europe
Everyone should just download it and then ignore the microtransactions. That can teach them a lesson.

Re: Exclusive: Full Fat Is Bringing The Insanely Popular Flick Golf To The Nintendo 3DS

I hope Nintendo will ship enough copies of this game. I can't find a single copy of Captain Toad - which is only one month old - here in Italy.
