I'd love to see more FE stuff. Only got into the series recently, and so far I've only played Awakening, Fates (beaten Birthright and Conquest, started Revelations), and Shadows of Valentia (which I'm at the final dungeon of, IIRC, should finish that up). It'd be great to see more Echoes remakes. Or maybe Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn together as an HD package, I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
I've been playing a ton of Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, so at some point I probably will branch out into one of the Dynasty or Samurai Warrior games. This looks like a potentially good place to start.
Looks like it's drawing heavy inspiration from early Cave games, which looks fantastic. If only someone could convince Cave to port their stuff to Switch. Or update all the iPhone ports I bought so they'd work on newer iOS updates.
They've somehow managed to make sure each of these volumes has one of the games I've already bought digitally. Vol. 1 has the original Strikers, Vol. 2 has Sengoku Blade, Vol. 3 has Zero Gunner 2.
This looks like a strong maybe to me. I like the art style, but not a lot to go on for story yet. I'd most like to see what the battle system is like--based on the screenshot, it looks turn-based, but that's about all I could say. If it's got an interesting battle system, I'm 100% interested.
I know a lot of people were unhappy when it was announced that Nintendo had already chosen the DLC fighters, but that just seemed sensible to me. I have to imagine that the number one most important and difficult part of adding a character to Smash is securing the rights. Some people took that news to mean "Well, that means no fan favorites." If anything, I think it might mean Nintendo is doing their due diligence, making sure they have secure arrangements in place with, say, Square-Enix for Geno or Microsoft for Banjo-Kazooie.
I already own like ... 4 or 5 different versions of Sonic 2, but yeah, I might get this if this isn't just hot air. Though as I'm definitely getting the Sega Genesis collection, hard to say.
Nice, I have it for the VC on my Wii U, but haven't played it much. Might repurchase it. It'll be nice to have alongside the Genesis Collection, which has Phantasy Stars 2 through 4.
I really feel like there'll be a new Xenoblade character included, though I suppose they might get bumped to DLC. Given how successful XBC2 has been on the Switch, I can't imagine Rex and Pyra / Mythra not showing up at some point.
I'd prefer the GameCube updates from Legends, but I would buy Skies of Arcadia IN A HEARTBEAT. My all-time favorite game ever, absolutely, I will buy it.
I don't think Panzer Dragoon maintains the name recognition to justify this, but I would love to see an HD collection, featuring 1, Zwei, Saga, and Orta.
I'd prefer some concrete news on XI for the Switch, but I would gladly take an offline X. I'm currently working my way through all the side content in Xenoblade Chronicles X, which is very much a single-player MMO. And when I played WoW, it was principally as a single-player game.
After finishing up Torna, I've gone back to Xenoblade Chronicles X in a major way. I beat the main story back in the spring, but there's still so much left to do. At the very least, I want to wrap up all the normal missions and max out affinity with every party member. Beyond that, I'm not quite sure how much more I'll play--it seems like a game that would be a massive undertaking to 100%, and seeing the amount of grinding that goes into getting the best gear is intimidating.
Sad that Skies of Arcadia didn't even crack the top 10. I would do anything to see Sega do something with that--straight port, enhanced remake, sequel, whatever.
Was hoping for a release date. Having already pre-ordered Pokemon and Smash, I think this is the only other game purchase I'm intending to make this year.
Never got around to buying either of them for the Wii, even though they've been on my Wii wishlist on Amazon for probably like a decade. I'd definitely pick up a compilation.
I preordered Pikachu before Amazon changed its preorder policy. I much prefer Eevee (though from what I've read, your starter can't evolve :/ ), but Pikachu seems to have the Pokemon Red exclusives, which IMO seals the deal.
I've been doing monotype parties all through Gen 7, and I plan to keep it up in Let's Go. Sun is a Water team, UltraMoon is a Ghost team (that I need to finish playing), and Let's Go will be a Poison team (Kanto and its crazy number of poison-types).
I'm still holding out hope for that Xenosaga HD Collection that was rumored a few months back. Never got to play those games, and it'd be great to see Namco and Nintendo co-publish it with Monolith developing.
Or maybe a Baten Kaitos sequel! I like the Xenoblade games more, but I'd love to see more from Baten Kaitos.
I started with Primrose, but my advice to people starting out is: pick Therion first. You can't remove your starting character until you've completed their storyline (beaten their Chapter 4), and for my money Therion has the most useful talent: opening purple chests. At the start of the game, you won't see many of them, outside of Therion's starting area and the adjacent areas, but from my experience and what I've heard from others, there's at least one purple chest in every later chapter. You can back track and pick them up later, but just always having Therion is arguably easier, IMO.
@Steelhead Though that might be something to consider, Octopath has one significant advantage in playing Cyrus or other magic-heavy characters: items to refill your SP (or MP in other games) are actually quite plentiful. You get a lot of them just from the opening chapters, and they're cheaply sold at every item shop. Also, characters level up pretty quickly early on, and you refill your SP every time you level up. Cyrus definitely can blow through his SP quickly, but it's much better than in a lot of other JRPGs, where MP has to be managed very very carefully, or magic is just entirely outclassed by physical moves, or both.
I'm passing on this at release, as it's too close to Octopath's release, but I'll definitely come back to this, maybe later this year. Honestly, I have a big soft spot for decent-but-unspectacular JRPGs.
Probably won't pre-order this--I'm still working on Hyrule Warriors, a friend just lent me The Last of Us for my PS3, and Octopath Traveler awaits--but I will definitely pick this up in a couple months.
Having been obsessed with Hyrule Warriors since its release, I may have to check this out. I think my next Musou game will be Fire Emblem Warriors, but I'm glad another one is coming to the Switch.
I know it's not Neo Geo, but I'd also love to see a port of Coin Puzzle Moujiya, which is a very similar game, except it's a falling objects puzzle game, not the Magical Drop style of Money Puzzle Exchanger. I have a copy for the Saturn, but I would buy Moujiya in a second if it came out for the Switch.
Thank god, watching the Let's Go trailer made me apprehensive that we might be looking at a radical change to the Pokemon formula. Knowing that the Let's Go games are side games is a relief, and also probably makes me more interested in them. I'm happy to see they have Pokemon battles in them. I'll definitely pick up the next core game in 2019, and I'll wait and see on Let's Go.
This has been on my radar for a while. If Hyrule Warriors weren't coming out in about a week, I might consider picking it up. I'll add this one to my list of games to watch out for on sale.
Ikaruga holds a special place in my heart, despite the fact I don't actually like it that much--I prefer a more twitch-style of gameplay, whereas I felt like Ikaruga required more rote memorization of patterns. It was the announcement of the port to the GameCube that got me interested in shmups in high school, including purchasing a Sega Saturn and a huge number of old school shmups.
7 out of 10 for Sol Divide is a hot take. It is ... not a good game. One of Psikyo's worst--it's definitely the worst of the ones Zero.Div has released. It's still fine, and at 8 dollars, only you can decide if it's worth it (I probably paid like $30 for my Saturn copy).
I haven't played a Shantae game before, but I've been meaning to for ages. Between 3DS and Switch, I should have access to all the games, right? Where should I start?
"Balloons"? Is that how everyone views the objects in Magical Drop? I always read them as marbles or jewels. They clack together, they're clearly made of some sort of stone or glass like material.
I love Magical Drop 3, it's one of my all-time favorite puzzle games, but as I already bought 2, I'm not sure this is a priority to pick up.
Question: Is there any way to use a Switch Pro controller on a Wii U? I don't own a Wii U Pro Controller, and if I could use my Switch controller with it that would be really convenient.
I started Skyrim finally on Friday night, but I discovered last night that the autosave is not nearly as persistent as Breath of the Wild, and after losing like a half hour of progress after dying, I grew frustrated and decided to head back to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and prep for next week's NG+.
I beat the three superbosses I had left (Ophion was the only one that really gave me problems, but I managed to beat it finally after swapping out one of my pouch items for something with more damage reduction), and I've done all but one of the DLC quests.I already have all the blades and finished everyone's affinity charts. Once I'm done with this last quest, I'm probably ready for NG+. I could spend some time farming up more high-level chips, but I should have more than enough for the new blades in NG+.
Sol Divide is a bit of a surprise, given that it's one of Psikyo's weaker titles. Still, if we can get their entire library on Switch, I will not complain. Still waiting for Sengoku Blade, Dragon Blaze, GunBird 2, and Strikers 1999.
Dang it, got my hopes up this would be a Streets of Rage homage. I was just listening to some of the series' incredible music the other day and getting nostalgic.

I was really hoping the rumored Xenosaga Trilogy Collection might turn up, but still some exciting stuff announced. Hyrule Warriors might be the one I'm most excited for--I really wanted to enjoy it on the 3DS, but as I own a non-New 3DS, it was just too slow and choppy. Gonna sell my 3DS copy and pick it up for the Switch.
YAY!!! Always good to see more Neo Geo shmups. Here's hoping Prehistoric Island 2 isn't far behind. And Strikers 1945 Plus, though that'll probably be from Zerodiv.
