Nippon Ichi Software has revealed a brand new original game called Destiny Connect, with a Japanese Switch release date already secured.
The game has been announced in this week's Famitsu magazine, which has provided a few early details about what we can expect when it launches. The game is an RPG directed by Yoshihiko Toda, set in the fictional and nostalgic town of 'Clocknee'. A disaster occurs at this location and, in order to resolve this incident, the game will take players on an adventure starring a girl named Sherry, a boy named Pegreo, and a robot named Isaac. You can see an early scan of Famitsu below.
Naturally, other details are still to be shared, and a western release is still to be confirmed. We do know, however, that the game will launch in Japan on 28th February 2019.
Would you like to see this one make it over to the west? Let us know with a comment.

I'm always up for more games, this just doesn't interest me personally.
The artwork looks fantastic! Excited for this.
Looks pretty decent, like a touched-up PS1 game with modern lighting effects. However I think I'm more interested in playing actual PS1 RPG's on Switch like FF7 and Grandia.
Of course, that could change once we see the game in action. Maybe the gameplay is actually amazing. It just hasn't really gripped me yet.
@ilikeike I can't wait for Grandia! Never played the first one
Turn-based battle goodness = Gimme!
No one else thinks that the character models look off?
They look like the weird designs in those new 3D cartoons for kids.
I'm glad Nippon Ichi is making more new games, but hopefully they'll make something as good as Labyrinth of Refrain next time.
looks really interesting. can't wait to hear more.
This looks kinda steampunk-ish, which is always a good thing to me.
I hope this turns out a great game and comes to the west.
Also, nice to see the Android mascot finally made it into a game lol
Yellow ANDROID I've never seen character before.
In this particular case, I put that in the tagline to avoid any confusion as I appreciate the header could make it look like the game is Switch exclusive - just so that people viewing the article from our home page were aware.
Of course, for both us and for Push Square, we recognise that our readers are primarily interested in Nintendo or Sony consoles respectively, so sometimes articles will talk solely about those platforms. There's never any malicious intent if a writer chooses to include or ignore a particular platform, I assure you. 🙂
Cheesy as hell. Absolute skip.
I’m getting Dark Cloud vibes
This looks like a strong maybe to me. I like the art style, but not a lot to go on for story yet. I'd most like to see what the battle system is like--based on the screenshot, it looks turn-based, but that's about all I could say. If it's got an interesting battle system, I'm 100% interested.
Looks like a buy. I'll get it on whatever system has the best price by the time I get around to it.
Looks like a knock-off Persona game
I'm liking the look of this but as I'm still 150 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 2,2 hours into Shining Resonance and not even got round to opening the packaging on YS VIII and Octopath Traveller yet I think the sequel will be out before I even get round to playing it.
Reminds me of snack world for some reason
Artwork looks nice. Looking forward to hearing more about it.
Looks amazing
Want English release!!
Looks good but hopefully not childish. Will it go west? Who knows. Would I buy it if it did? Need more info.
This looks revolting.
@TossedLlama Don't tell anyone, but my sources say it will be Mother 3 Remastered. GOTY guaranteed.
@Ryu_Niiyama Weird, I got an Okage Shadow King vibe.
Never thought I would say this in 2018, but NIS does a way better job at making characters pop and look interesting with 2D, pixelated models rather than 3D. Disgaea, Phantom Brave, and most of their major games recently have had gripping 2D art to showcase what they want to do. Just my opinion really.
That art style looks terrible! Ugh! It's like early 2000s CGI. Nippon Ichi you guys do beautiful 2D sprites and anime style art! Some of the best! Stick to that, please!
I can eat all the jrpg's you throw my way so I am happy!
Im all over this, come on! Confirm for America!
