I feel like a lot of people are overlooking the fact that DLSS can do a lot to make games look way better than they should. Like the console wouldn't need to be as powerful as the Serieses or PS5 if it was using DLSS, that would also improve battery life by requiring less demanding specs. It's kinda like magic science cheating, which is a great angle for Nintendo to use for more direct competition on the fidelity side of things.
@__jamiie gotta agree with you on the racist angle. Like Mario and Luigi are almost inherently stereotypes, not particularly negative or offensive; but still, rude depictions of an entire nation full of people. Kinda glad the movie pulled back the voice angle, I never really had an issue with Martinet's performance, but it's hard to justify what is honestly not that different than stuff from early Speedy Gonzales cartoons or Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's in 2023. Also just gotta throw this out there, no clue why people are so attached to the guy that says "Wahoo". I'm not trying to be rude, I think Martinet is really talented, but his roles in Mario games are a massive waste of his skills as a voice actor, see Parthunax.
See, now that was an actually decent trailer. I feel like that would have made a far better impact at the Pokemon presents than what they showed. I just want more concrete details on what we're actually doing in the stories.
They're already sold out in stores that haven't opened yet, so I'm guessing I won't be able to get my hands on them any time soon. Gotta love the scum of the earth scalpers selling them everywhere for double the price.
Gotta go with the NES versions, but only because the limitations kinda defined the art. Like, the remakes are great, and probably better overall, but the original vision of those games is so massively influential that I can't make an argument for them not being the best way to experience the games.
@burgerkingsauce this is the comment I was looking for. As much as I'd love my purchases to carry over, I'd love it even more if the NSO consoles were directly ported over. I'm really tired of Nintendo acting like letting me play Super Mario Bros on a new console is something to be excited about.
@Phyzzi The blood moon is the game clearing it's cache. Without that function the game would eventually grind to a halt trying to keep track of every little thing you've done in the world. I get it though, I was in the middle of a cave when one started and had a horroblin respawn that I'd just killed. I'd prefer a system like Oblivion where dungeons respawn after three in game day.
While this is just about the least surprising news ever, it is a shame. Until companies actually make their games readily available to play, you can't really expect people to not use emulators. This would be a whole different conversation is we were talking about the Switch emulator.
I'm honestly not that into Splatoon, but like, this looks really bad. Being a Splatoon knockoff isn't even my issue with it, the characters look Genshin rejects and I can't tell what's going on at any given point. Also holy ***** that Sony presentation was a real let down.
@Fazley Just to throw this out there, I would be hard pressed to recommend Future Redeemed to anyone that hasn't played all of Xenoblades 1, 2, and 3 along with Future Connected and Torna the Golden Country. Future Redeemed heavily spoils the entire series throughout and is honestly pretty reliant on references and prior knowledge. While you don't have to play any of the other games to enjoy Xenoblade 3, you absolutely should do that for Future Redeemed. I'm honestly surprised by how high the barrier of entry for the game is, not complaining as a fan though.
I still don't particularly understand how British regulator's decisions really have any impact on the business decisions of two American companies. I feel like Microsoft could just forgo the market without much of an impact. Clearly the British government has bent to Sony's lobbyists.
@HeadPirate I'm putting my money on clone of Nia, rather than literally Nia. There was a lot in the trailer pointing towards cloning being a part of the story.
So I got just about as far as Kate, beating the three base runs, but not beating the final final boss. The Silent was definitely my favorite character, I love being able to sort through my deck so much and poison is dope. The Watcher is pretty cool, I didn't use her too much though, mainly focused on the main three characters. I found the groups of three slimes that you have to beat all of at once to be pretty annoying, I usually focused on single enemies. The act 3 boss that ends your turn after 12 cards are played was super annoying to play around. As far as strategy vs luck is concerned, I feel like there are definitely elements of both. The game can absolutely deal you a really bad hand, making the run way more difficult than usual, but I did have a few runs where I thought things were going terribly that ended up being some of my best goes at it. So I feel like the key is adapting a strategy that works with what you're given, because it's very rarely impossible. Definitely 2 extra cards, more options are way more useful than having more energy but nothing good to play. And absolutely, the biscuits were a delight. I had a great time with this, I'm looking forward to getting started on earthbound!
I'm not trying to be a jerk, but that's like, not really different than anywhere else in the US. If you are part time or a temp you shouldn't really expect all that much. It doesn't sound like they're doing anything illegal, just, kinda *****, much like literally every corporation.
Also I just realized that these people are losing their minds over foreshortening, Sprigatito is standing at an angle. "Flipping" the art isn't going to accomplish anything if you've used foreshortening, which is like a basic artistic concept. The art isn't drawn from straight on and I don't understand how people can't see that.
It's promotional artwork. In game it'll be a 3D model, so like, who really cares about Sugimori's art? Also it's really not even that noticable in the first place.
This was a legitimately terrible E3 for Nintendo, and I am very dissapointed in the direction that they chose for it, yeah Zelda looks great, but having no overarching presentation is inexcusable.

Re: Poll: Hasn't Nintendo Always Been An 'Entertainment' Company?
I mean, video games are just the thing they got internationally famous for. It's never been their only line of business.

Re: Feature: So, Which Zelda Games Aren't On Switch Yet?
@Olliemar28 Gotta agree with you man. Even just for the sake of game preservation.
Re: Random: Catch A Whiff Of Ryuji And Haru With These Persona 5 Royal Candles
@Scooby-Doo They've already made candles for most of the other phantom thieves, as far as I can tell these two are stragglers.

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I still have plenty to do, but I took a break because joycon drift is incredibly frustrating. Currently playing Yakuza 0 on Steam Deck instead.
Re: Random: Some Fans Think They've Spotted A 'Mario Kart 10' Teaser In The Mario Movie
I'm trying to figure out why anyone thinks Illumination would even know anything about an upcoming Nintendo game.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Ikaruga
The quote is why I voted for the North American box, also black and white just makes more sense for the actual game.

Re: Japanese Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Knocks Pokémon Off The Top Spot
@Olliemar28 I was just amused by the pyrrhic victory.
Re: Japanese Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Knocks Pokémon Off The Top Spot
These numbers always make me laugh, because the switch definitely sold like 10k more copies when you account for the different skus.
Re: New Fire Emblem Engage Reward Coming Soon To My Nintendo Store
Kinda lame that they don't feature the actual characters in the game really.
Re: Feature: "I'm Hugely Disappointed We Did Not Make It In Time To Get Into Smash Bros." - Yoko Taro Talks NieR:Automata On Switch
