Re: Top Smash Melee Player Unsure About Future Involvement In Competitive Scene

Zacattack99

I honestly feel like it makes sense for HungryBox to join the Ultimate scene. For these reasons:

  • Ultimate is the bigger game with 88 fighters (With DLC), which includes the whole Melee roster’s 25 characters. Thus more match-up potential.
  • The game has been supported by Nintendo via multiple balance updates, and DLC. Compared to Melee’s entire print run.
  • The competitive community of Ultimate is in it’s second year, and thus, doesn’t reek from the same Stigma that Melee has for it’s 16th year thus far.

Re: Phil Spencer Shuts Down Idea Of Xbox Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms

Zacattack99

As far as I know, we all just wanted Banjo & Kazooie on a modern Nintendo platform is some capacity (in this case Smash) and they delivered on that demand. In theory; I don’t see how Game Pass might work on Switch, I think it’s better to just release these XBOX games as stand-alone releases in some form, like with Minecraft, Ori, The Outer Worlds, Hellblade and Cuphead. In the case of Rare Replay; I can see a three volume collection covering more games from Rare, including those published by Nintendo as a bonus.(outside of Goldeneye 007 for obvious reasons) I can also Panic Button port versions of the Halo and Gears of War games given their amazing work with DOOM and the like. All and all, we care less about Game Pass’s offerings, but care more for those legacy XBOX exclusives.

Re: Poll: Which ARMS Fighter Should Join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Zacattack99

Not voting on Spring Man for obvious reasons, Ribbon Girl, Min Min, Twintelle, and Ninjara are also not getting my vote due to also being in Smash. as Spirits you can mostly fight against.

Things will get weird if...
Spring Man can summon Spring Man the assist trophy.

Ribbon Girl can fight against the Ribbon Girl spirit.

Summoning Ninjara as a spirit with Ninjara already in the fighter roster.

Fighting the Min-Min and Twintelle spirits as Min-Min or Twintelle.

Canonically; Spirits are these characters without their physical forms.

A imported copy of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA MegaMix (or in Japan; 初音ミク: Project DIVA MEGA39’s) for the last month after waiting for this game’s release since last July It’s existence alone satisfying the itch I had for the series since September 2015. (Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX on 3DS did mitigate it somewhat)

(FP fighting in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

Re: Full EVO 2020 Line-Up Revealed, Smash Bros. Ultimate Will Represent Nintendo

Zacattack99

@cryptologous, I was talking about development time between the 2 games; citing Melee’s 13-month cycle and in an era of no updates and comparing that to Ultimate’s development lasting 3 years and then some (for patches and DLC) and adding the 3-so years of development time on the Wii U game, since it ended being used as the base for Ultimate as we know it. (thusly a combined near-8 years of development) That’s only to show the difference between a game that was rushed and rough and a well-refined game both overall and mechanically speaking.

Getting back to my original point; I was also implying about the size of Ultimate’s current 81-fighter roster (which is Melee’s whole roster and 55 other characters), and the tournament friendly stage line-up picked out of the current 108 stages. (or 321 when counting forms) That’s where the whole idea of “Melee is a lesser Ultimate” comes from.

Re: Analysts Agree That Switch Will Be King In 2020, Less Sure About The Switch Pro

Zacattack99

If Nintendo were to release a new Switch model this year, it be not an enhanced model, but in the vein of the Switch Lite, a Switch that is cheaper with fewer features that steers into the direction of a TV only console.

What I can Imagine is a console dubbed along the lines of
“Nintendo Switch TV” retailing for $150 USD, a physically small console about the size of a Apple TV that features the standard 2 usb ports, USB 3.0 port, USB-C port, and HDMI port, and comes with a pair of Joy-Con and a Joy-Con Charging Grip, alongside the usual cables. I would of said $100, but Nintendo would again, not want to sell it at a loss. The marketing of such a device is to provide a cheap and inexpensive gateway to the system’s library. The console WILL NOT boast hardware improvements. Unlike the PSTV, which failed because SONY put less effort into it’s marketing, much like the PS Vita, Nintendo will remain committed to it, by advertising it with the Switch and Switch Lite.

Re: Talking Point: Switch Lite Expanded The Console's Reach In 2019

Zacattack99

@sanderev, like @sixrings said, it would be inexpensive, only giving people easier access to the games available on Switch. That may mot be your cup of tea, but there’s a sizable few that only play in TV Mode.

That is what I hope happens, and NOT the “Switch Pro”, as it’s never been about the power of the system, but rather, again, the games.

Re: Pac-Man Turns 40 Next Year And Bandai Namco Plans To Celebrate In Style

Zacattack99

I feel like the best way to celebrate the yellow fellow’s 40th is to release a another PAC-MAN maze game that combines elements from many different titles throughout these last 40 years, something worthy of the title of “PAC-MAN FOREVER”.

I hate to say it; but I don’t really think a ‘World’-style cute 3D platformer today is gonna celebrate the series as well as it did then. This game’s identity and branding is being taken much more seriously than it used to be, from those limited-quanity quarter-sized cabinets(one I bought as a x-mas gift for my mother), full-blown fancy artistic statues developed by Richard Orlinski, even appearing in the Rio to Tokyo Flag handover ceremony alongside Mario (the director of this also worked on this video) in addition to Super Smash Bros., a now more serious cross-over in gaming, considering we’ve seen them commission the “Oriental Techno God” (twice, since he did music for a VR game) (who is already celebrating 25 years of his own career) to make this music to define this milestone, it proves it.
