Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Excuses Regarding Cloud Saves Aren't Good Enough

@BAN That's a huge assumption right there. I don't want to keep my ranks for honour or making people feel inferior, what's that got to do with me wanting to back my saves up to the cloud (which is what I paid for in the first place???). I'm keeping them safe because I spent time and effort into it, and unlike those people who can replay over and over again either voluntarily or involuntarily I don't prefer it. And neither do the many people who are complaining about this (and being brandished as haters in some places like Twitter). Not everyone has the time to play the game all over again just because Nintendo is incompetent to solve the problem rather than create a new one. Sure, some people like deleting and replaying again as you said, but that's not everyone. And it's not a minority either.

As mentioned, rather than create a solution to the problem, Nintendo is creating another problem and people are defending them on this. You definitely aren't but I can't say that to the group of people who are calling us haters just because Ninty did something wrong :/

@JunkRabbit Just what I expected, a statement telling me things like "this doesn't happen" and "why not start over" :/

That's not a real solution in any way, shape or form. I'm paying for cloud saves, and we want our money's value. Heck, people are saying it's a $20 service for each issue brought up, I highly doubt it's even worth that much but that's a different story. The current issue here is the "why not start over" statement. See, we all love games. But as gamers we don't like seeing our hard work go to the bin especially when there's an alternative and a way to save that progress right there. To say that is to go into hardcore damage control mode.

As for your subjective-objective statement, You're right

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Excuses Regarding Cloud Saves Aren't Good Enough

@JunkRabbit Well the fact that the cloud saves problem for games like Splatoon 2 not being supported is an objective flaw no? Especially since other companies have easily solved this issue. Many of us don't want to lose our hard work put into the game just because Nintendo can't implement the solution to this. That is an objective flaw. I do understand people have their own opinions but some are based on fact, and this is one of those examples where it is. I wanna back up all my saves you know

The difference between 3 years being Psyonix went from pro consumer to usual AAA anti consumer... I remember reading up an article detailing all how Psyonix turned this fantastic game to a purposely manipulative game in terms of microtransactions...

But hey, just play offline with friends and escape these struggles

Re: Soapbox: We Like To Grumble, But Nintendo Switch Online Is Actually A Very Generous Offer

Yasaal

News Flash: Many people would rather pay $60 for a competent service than a measly $20 service with poor offerings.

The online works swell, and I'm in the minority who don't have much of a problem with voice chat through the app. But I have a huge issue with the rest of what they offer. NES games get boring after a minute, I'd take SNES/N64/GAMECUBE over boring NES games any day.

People chase nostalgia but I've already paid for most of these with the Wii VC. Why can't we get SNES/N64 games at least ffs. We know nothing about the offers Ninty offers. And you and I both know it won't be anything more than "40% off this game" and expect us to take it and not say anything.

Give us a good service, don't hide behind the "but it's $20" excuse, because I'm sure people would rather prefer paying $60 for a competent service than anything Nintendo is offering as of now, but hey let's complain about the complainers because that's all that can be done now right -_-

Nintendo gives us a sub par service and it's our fault for complaining about this? People need to grow up and take critisicism, so stop defending Nintendo where they're oh so wrong. That said, it's not all "end of the world" either, voice chat works good and I can back up almost all my saves, almost.

Can only hope someone gives the head of this mess a good whack on the head so we see improvements.
