Re: Soapbox: I'm Secretly Terrified Of An All-Digital Gaming Future

Yasaal

Honestly speaking I was a digital naysayer back in the Wii U days since the Wii U's pathetic on-board storage (ahem, the Switch has the same problem as well) meant I could get few games.

Like I said, the Switch also had this problem, so why did I only focus on the Wii U? The Switch is portable, so it's gonna be a pain in the a** trying to get all the respective cartridges and don't get me started on the likelihood of losing them. While for the Wii U it's impossible to lose a disc especially since that console won't leave the house (at least for me).

I went from all physical to all digital (mostly) and to be honest am quite satisfied. The biggest benefit is that I don't need to replace or look after cartridges. Just switch on the Switch, select the game and you're good to go.

Now wait for the Smash fanboys to howl out Smash smash. Pfft.

I'm quite disappointed that the 3DS is not being given a farewell yet. At this point, the 3DS may start cannibalizing the Switch's sales (although so far it's not happening). Send the 3DS a proper farewell and get on with the Switch.

As for this direct, don't expect too much. Don't get your hopes too high.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Really? I don't have any issues with my controller. The inputs are picked up properly...

I totally agree with you on the headphone port and the triggers. Not a day goes by without me wishing I could just connect my headphones either wirelessly or connect them to the controller. And then the analogue triggers are a big problem as well, fortunately I don't play those games in particular which suffer due to the analogue triggers but when Smash comes out I know I'll start having problems.

They should really make a new Pro Controller and fix these problems (and since the current one is already called "Pro", give the new one a proper name... I wouldn't want it to be called the "New Pro Controller" or some other terrible name...)

The lack of Zelda and Odyssey in this list is quite interesting.

For me it's definitely Zelda first. Or I'll actually list them down below:

1. Zelda (For obvious reasons)
2. Rocket League (I even bought the DLC for this and can't stop playing this game XD)
3. VOEZ (Definitely an excellent and deserves much more popularity)
4. Splatoon 2 (Had a lot of fun with this, until I got to S rank...)
5. FIFA (just recently got into it, it's a good game tbh)
6. Mario Kart (already played it on Wii U so a lot of the fun died out)

@SLIGEACH_EIRE One of your suggestions were to improve the Pro Controller. How and what has to be improved with the Pro Controller? I agree with your other points but I feel the Pro Controller couldn't get any better. To me it's perfect.

Re: Nintendo Switch Helped UK Games Market Grow More Than 12 Percent In 2017

Yasaal

@Hotfusion If so many years were worth a moment you'd be right. The UK has always been Nintendo's worst market for a very long time. As for Japan not wanting the Wii U, Japan bought 3 million of them and it was around 3-4 years until PS4 overtook the Wii U's sales over there. Japan always seems like the opposite of the world XD
