Re: Opinion: An Ode To The Fallen Arm, Xenoblade Chronicles' Best Map

This was so well put, the fallen arm is undoubtedly the fulcrum for the game’s plot and one of the most interesting locations in the game. However for me, my favourite location from a mood standpoint is the Bionis’ Interior. Getting the visual manifestation of the evil and corrupted nature of the Bionis which contradicts the beliefs held by the party at the beginning of the game. It shows growth. On my play throughs I don’t end up spending much time in there because I’m in the mood and grind to the near end, I know that many people struggle with the areas boss but I play Melia and when she’s human controlled, she’s decent (and for me the most fun)

@HeadPirate Sure, maybe it’s not political, more ideological and economical. However I do believe that there is an overlap between these things. Political policy influences the ways economic systems are implemented. I understand it’s naive to attempt to disassociate a massive industry from the state of the world. However sometimes I just want to play my Splatoon in peace without thinking about the world economy and certain divisive political figures which already take up so much of my time. Video games are an escape they should not be a provider of more stress, at least I don’t want them to be.

I agree that Nintendo is a company that is trying to make money, and I can’t blame them for doing what a company should. It is unfair to blame them for doing what everyone else is doing especially when they know they are behind technically and need to hook people in with brand loyalty. It is not the people at fault for following this company, it is the deliberate marketing strategies of the company that create the fan base which supports creating entertainment for us. I know that Nintendo would not charge so much if they didn’t need to keep their company at the standards that are expected of them.

Additionally, botw and totk switch 2 editions are free with the online + expansion pack so if you really want to be a stickler for the numbers instead of costing 160 USD for both, it’s 50 USD with many other additional benefits.

The costs of things seem to be what the majority of the conversation has been centred around. Whilst it may seem difficult I am trying to take a paradigm shift to think more optimistically, what justifies Nintendo in raising the costs of games so high other than tariffs. Hopefully it’s content and not politics. As a person living in America it seems like everything is saturated in politics right now and Video Games should be a place free from that stress.

Re: Talking Point: Will Metroid Prime 4 Get A Switch 2 Release?

If it’s going to appear so prominently at the switch two direct then there has to be. It is the perfect showcase for the mouse functionality as well as visual enhancement and AI upscaling. If they don’t capitalise on this opportunity then they are missing out. If there wasn’t anything planned for switch 2 then there would have been a separate direct or even social media post for the game rather than take up real estate in the dedicated Switch two direct.

@Warioware Who knows what Monolithsoft is doing at this point. I think two possibilities could exist:

They give us X as a way to draw people into the series before a Switch 2 game XC4 or XCX2

They give us X to satisfy our hunger as they develop a new game from a different or new franchise.

Spoilers for XC3
I see your point about the ending being open for interpretation, however they did lay in the “l’ll see you again talk” pretty thick.

That being said, I think there will be something in X’s epilogue that will connect it to the numbered games spoiler for XC 1,2, and FR
my guess is that we will see the trinity processor somewhere

@Warioware I think we’re getting x now so we get x2 on switch 2 which will connect to the numbered games. However I did fall in love with the characters of XC3 (spoilers for XC3) I loved how they teased the reunion of Noah and Mio so I really hope that we see them in the future in some way weather that be as returning protagonists or like Melia and Nia representing the Bionis and Alrest. I would also be satisfied with a Xenoblade Warriors game where we see some timeline shenanigans like we’ve already seen with the endless now. I think that has a lot of traction.

@Warioware I knew this comment would come. In my opinion I think that XC3os the easiest jumping point because of it being the newest game, this gives it benefits such as; an improved combat system (easier to learn), modern feeling, and the story is understandable without the other games yet makes you interested in experiencing those stories.
I agree with you that Future Redeemed should be saved until you complete AT LEAST one of the others. But other than that I think that as story heavy as this series is, they have done a great job making it so that each game has draw to new audiences without leaving them too left out.
