This was the most disappointing thing about the reveal. I've binned all my Joycon. Got electrical contact cleaner, that fixed them temporarily. Then attempted to swap the joysticks. Managed to do it on one, but it didn't fix the issue. The rest I couldn't get all the screws off.
Been playing games for decades, and I've never seen a failure rate this high.
I didn't enjoy the first game because the main characters were pretty unlikeable. That and it's attempts at comedy didn't really work, and kinda ruined any suspense in the murder mystery. It's a shame because the zero escape series was so good.
It was trying to be Yakuza meets Phoenix Wright. However both those series balance humour and drama.
@Razer for me it's the challenge of getting better at the game, and chasing high scores. Like any arcade game really.
Sin and Punishment 2 is another example, game can be finished in 5 hours, but finishing it on one credit while maximising your score, now that's a challenge that could lead to a play time of 100+ hours.
If you don't like the high score grind, that's fine, but this is what arcade games are built around. That one more run addictiveness. They're not RPGs where you gradually improve a character, they're action games where you learn to use the tools your given in the most efficient way possible.
Seems like an odd business model, if the games were any good to begin with, they wouldn't need to resort to this type of marketing.
Personally I'd want as many people to play my game as possible, rather than selling it to a limited number of collectors who probably won't play it anyway.
Yeah like others have said, Nintendo are just being greedy here. If Mario Kart can support 4 player split screen, this can too. I can understand technical limitations in splatoon with all the ink flying everywhere, but this is a golf game.
@commentlife depends on the developer, producer tends to be a lot more hands on in the games industry. Hironobu Sakaguchi and Suda51 are often labelled as producer when they're basically directing.
On the one hand nintendo shouldn't really lock features like this behind an amiibo. On the other I finished the game on Wii, and never felt I was missing out on this extra feature. So all in all, there are more important things to complain about.
@stinky_t I think it's more negotiating for 1st party titles to be released on PC as well via their storefront. So games exclusive to console also being released on PC.
@samuraicop game has more content than 90% of games out there. Labelling it early access seems a bit strange. Were Hollow Knight or Breath of the Wild considered early access before their updates.
@VoidofLight @Tyranexx Ys IX references previous games quite a bit, but not in a way that would require you to have played previous games to enjoy the story.
@Ooyah It's pretty good from what I've played so far. I think it's about even with VIII. There are some bits I prefer in each game.
Iwata was the heart and soul of Nintendo. Someone who really fostered creativity. Look at the list of games Nintendo funded while he was in charge. Everything from Sin and Punishment 2, Pandora's Tower, Endless Ocean to Project Zero Maiden of Blackwater. So much variety.
The Iwata asks segments were great, having a former developer interview other developers was a great format. Gave you a chance to see behind the curtain.
1. FFVII and FFVII Remake are my favourites. 2. FFX is great, but the random encounter rate is way too high, and some of the dialogue is just flat out bad. 3. FFVIII, it was a toss up between this and IX. I'm giving it to VIII because it's more memorable despite having way more flaws. 4. IX I like the artstyle, but the story is not as well paced as the games above, plus the limit break system sucks. 5. X-2 there's a couple of sections where I just mute the game, the songs are so bad. However the battle system and branching story was cool. 6. FFIV for me it's the best pre playstation era final fantasy, the story is simple but interesting. 7. FFVI it's alright, I just think there are too many characters with too little screen time. 8. FFV it's ok, outside of the job system it's just not that memorable. 9. FFXV the game is unfinished, I like the main party dynamic, but it's just a half baked game even with the DLC. 10. FFXII I hated the battle system, it's slow clunky, unbalanced and boring. The main character is also Vaan, enough said.
What we need is Microsoft or Nintendo to pay another studio to bring them to modern platforms. Or in The Last Story's case at least make it available for download.
Wasn't Disco Elysium up for multiple game of the year nominations, and really well written.
Just out of interest is Trainspotting banned in Australia, are they creating a double standard for film and video games? Or are they just censorship mad in general.
@Dirty0814 Sadly the compressed air/electrical contact cleaner is a temporary fix.
You do eventually have to replace the sticks. Which isn't as easy as people claim. The actual process of swapping the sticks is a bit fiddly, but quite easy. However getting the screws off the joycon is a nightmare. You're at the mercy of how tight they were screwed in. If you get a bad one that's particularly tight or glued in, the screw head will disintegrate and that's game over. I had 3 controllers drifting, managed to get the screws off one without damage. The other two are kaput.
I'm all for digital, more money goes to the publishers and developers, less to the middle men. However if they announced a physical edition, they should fulfill that commitment.
@ModdedInkling Its not the developers fault the system has the power of a Wii U, and people are expecting miracles.
Smash Bros devs couldn't add Rex and Pyra, as it would kill the framerate in 8 player Smash. That kinda tells you how little extra horsepower the Switch has.
There's quite a cool collection of characters in this. I'll be getting it as soon as there's a sale. It would be great if they could get a Power Stone character as a guest.
@GannonBanned Yeah I think we can all agree some Americans have an unhealthy obsession with flags in general. Symbols only have as much power as you personally give them.
The key point to this is, the creator of the game changed the design. It's the same as George Lucas changing the original trilogy. If the artist wants to change something, they're free to do so. It's their work at the end of the day.
Yeah at the end of the day it's their work, they can do what they want.
The game was originally released in the 90's, was there uproar then?
I think in general folks need to to take a step back and chill about stuff like this. There are plenty of things to take a stand on, if you take a stand on every little thing, the important stuff gets diluted. It's a bit like the boy who cried wolf.
@Carck not really, all I said was if you've got a choice between an average shooter and a really good shooter, why pick the average one with boobies. And if your answer is boobies, well there's better stuff out there for that as well.
I mean if you've got enough time and money on your hands, to play everything under the sun, fair play to you.
I kinda don't understand the need for games like this. At least with games like DoA the gameplay is solid. Why not buy a good shooter, or visit an adult website.
I don't understand the logic of buying something that's mediocre in both categories.
Every other game on the eshop looks like a softcore maid game, so someone must be buying them.
@Kang81 I like to know what's on the horizon, and have stuff to look forward to. I don't need constant updates on projects, it's just nice to know cool stuff is on the way. If it wasn't for Bayonetta, Metroid and No More Heroes 3 being announced. There would have been very little reason for me not to trade in my Switch and put the money towards a next gen console.
Especially after last year's game drought. It felt like all that nintendo released last year was Animal Crossing, Mario Remasters, xenoblade remaster and another Musou game. I'm sure they released more than that, but it felt like 2020 lacked a big reveal.
I've got my fingers crossed for a proper direct soon

No way they get 12 million out of this. But they should get paid for each game they worked on without their knowledge. It's only fair

River City Girls 2, and a remake of the Neo Geo version of Super Dodgeball would be great
Re: New Pokémon Snap Version 1.2.0 Update Fixes A Bugged Request Mission
@Paraka You get to keep DLC after servers shut down. And an SD card has a similar shelf life to a game cartridge.

Re: Mortal Kombat Movie Comes Out Fighting With A $22.5m US Box Office Opening
Pretty good, considering the budget probably wasn't huge and the pandemic has hit cinemas hard.
Re: Random: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Players Are Getting Creative With The New Design Tools
It'd be cool if they made stuff more interactive. Like having the ability to use sports/kitchen equipment for example.
Oh and the obvious stuff like streamlining a lot of the repetitive actions.

Re: SNK's Second Season Pass 3 Fighter For Samurai Shodown Arrives Next Week
Yeah it'd be cool to see some new stages, I think SNK is probably focused on KOF XV at the moment though.
This season pass is looking way better than season 2. Hopefully the rumours are true and Guilty gears rep is Baiken
Re: Takaya Imamura Describes Star Fox 64 As "The Game Of My Life"
I quite liked Starfox Zero, the controls took some getting used to but they were fun.
Re: Nintendo Is Suing A Reported "Leader" Of The Notorious Piracy Group Team Xecuter
As soon as you start turning a profit off something like this, you forfeit any defense really. Stealing is stealing.
The preservation defence is really weak. I stole the Ferrari because there was no way to buy it new, doesn't tend to hold up in court.
Re: Feature: Bringing SNK Vs. Capcom: The Match Of The Millennium To Switch After Two Decades
I would definitely buy Capcom Vs SNK 2 or SNK vs Capcom Chaos
Re: F-Zero Isn't Dead - It's Just Sleeping, Says Nintendo Legend Takaya Imamura
If they've got no new ideas for an F-Zero, just re-release the old games with online play.
People aren't asking for the world, just make your retro games available to play on Switch.
Re: House Of The Dead: Remake Shoots To Switch Later This Year
Yay, they should port all the other games across as well. Really like what they did with the characters in overkill.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 10th)
Playing through Ys IX, with a bit of Killer Queen Black, Blazblue Crosstag and Rocket League on the side
Re: Wonder Boy: Asha In Monster World Gets A Shiny New Trailer
I think it looks pretty good. It's giving off a playstation 1 era platformer vibe. I'm interested
Re: Whisker Squadron Has Serious Star Fox Vibes, But With Cats
Scratch that it's procedurally generated. I'm not into that. I just want an arcade mode with leaderboards like Sin and Punishment 2.
Re: Whisker Squadron Has Serious Star Fox Vibes, But With Cats
Looks really good. We need more of these games.
Re: Japan Voted On Final Fantasy's Best Games And Characters - Do You Agree With The Ranking?
How I rank them

Re: Bloodstained's Miriam Joins 3D Brawler Mighty Fight Federation This Spring
There's quite a cool collection of characters in this. I'll be getting it as soon as there's a sale. It would be great if they could get a Power Stone character as a guest.
Re: Mini Review: Mighty Fight Federation - Power Stone-Style Brawling Action That's Best With Friends
@Arcade_Tokyo thanks for the reply.
I've added it to my wishlist, and I will probably get it, when the price drops a little bit.

Do the levels transform? The best thing about Power Stone, was the cool level transformations.
Re: SNK's Guerrilla War Is This Week's Switch eShop Arcade Archives Release

After his Byleth binary pose, whatever hint he's hiding, is way too obscure to guess.
