It felt a bit of a chore/grind to unlock stuff. But at the end of the day, the base game was cheap and stacked with content. The rest was just gravy, and gravy that is free as long as you put the time in. I think they hit a good balance really. I don't enjoy the base gameplay as much as Mario Kart 8. I think it suffers the same issue as Mario Kart DS. They both feature Snaking, which I don't really enjoy as a mechanic(as it's hard work, and you're not gonna come close to winning without doing it)
I've got blazblue, I'm assuming it'd be the river city girls that would get in over Kunio judging by the blazblue devs. I enjoy the idea of a cross over fighter with loads of fighters. My issue with crosstag, is they've crossed over with franchises I'm not all that familiar with. The combat itself is also quite difficult to see what's going on a lot of the time.
I really want fatal frame to get released at some point. Don't think it's likely though. Then again I didn't think the Kunio Kun collection would get translated. So I'm happy to be wrong.
The games I'd really like to see released/remastered on modern consoles are.
Super Dodgeball(neogeo) Marvel vs Capcom 2 Eternal Darkness Crazy Taxi series Power Stone 2 Snowboard Kids The Last Story Viewtiful Joe Capcom Vs SNK
It feels like Arc System Works are really throwing everything at the wall in terms of Kunio Kun related games lately. It'd be nice if there was a bit more quality control. They could really elevate it to one of their top tier franchises if they took that bit of extra time. River City Girls is awesome, and the Kunio Kun collection being translated is a great surprise. Some of the other games look really rushed.
It'd be great to see a modern sports game from them, with good online modes and ridiculous levels of violence. Or a 3d version of the mach battle game they released. If they took inspiration from Power Stone in terms of level design, it has the potential to be great
I liked the art style, but there was something about the gameplay that didn't quite click with me. I'm in two minds whether to back it or not. It depends what the gameplay improvements are.
That's disappointing. Sora is always in these lists of most wanted characters. He'd be in mine, because he's iconic and it would have been cool to see Donald and Goofy in a final smash. Plus Traverse Town as a level would be great. Ultimate has a pretty amazing roster. I'd like to see, any of the below make it in.
Chibi Robo
Andy from Advance Wars
Travis Touchdown
Dante
Rayman
Professor Layton
Phoenix Wright
Rex and Pyra
Crash Bandicoot
Laharl from Disgaea
Subzero
Kazama Kiryu
Vault Boy
Heihachi
Kunio Kun
I want the collection for the football games. I don't think nintendo ever re-released nintendo world cup, which I enjoyed as a kid. I like that they've got the quality up feature which gets rid of the flickering sprites.
I'll echo the thoughts of a lot of people. Can we get some games that haven't been released a billion times. It feels like this is the third or fourth puyopuyo game on switch. There are so many great games that aren't playable on current hardware. 4 puyo puyo games but no crazy taxi, that seems odd to me.
Every year I google Power Stone at least once in the hopes that we'll get a port.
I'm curious are the folks who don't buy unless its physical, doing so because they've run out of room on their switch or because they'd like to sell it after finishing it. Personally I've pretty much stopped buying physical altogether, as it got to the point where I was running out of room to store the cases.
Yeah the description on the eshop says they're all translated. Woop. Can't wait to play the football titles. Wish they'd release the neogeo dodgeball game
Yeah I get that vibe. I really don't understand his negativity though. The Witcher game and tv series seem like pretty good adaptations of his work. You'd think the guy would be happy that people enjoyed his books so much, that they put years worth of effort into adapting them. He just comes across as bitter. It's ok to not like video games or TV. It would nice if he showed a little respect to the 100s of people who have in effect been marketing his book.
The single player mode is pretty basic. Each character has an arcade mode ending but that's about it. It's all about the multiplayer in this one. It's a game that really rewards predicting what your opponent is going to do. Predicting what a CPU is going to do, isn't that fun. If you want a fighter with lots of single player stuff, your best bet is Mortal Kombat 11
I like the way they handled it in Samurai Shodown. People who bought it early got the first season pass for free. I enjoy the game so I'll pay for some extra characters. I prefer games that update their rosters, rather than release a new game every two years. Works out cheaper. SamSho also added a character every month, which was nice. I'm not a big fan of the way dragon ball, smash bros and mortal kombat purposefully drag them out to cover an entire year.
I think a last blade character would be cool. I don't think they're likely to do another game in that series. I'm hoping we get a pirate themed team KOF15, Darli, B Jenet and maybe a new character.
Glad you've got no issues. I've got 3 sets of joycons and they all drift. I don't treat them differently from any of my other controllers. After I've finished playing they go in a draw with my PS4 controllers, or are reattached to the switch. The main games I play are Xenoblade, 2d fighting games and rocket league. I've never had an issue like this with any other controller. I've played games since the SNES and have owned multiple controllers for each system.
People saying take better care of your controllers, what do you folks do? Clean them after each use? That seems a tad OCD. I don't have to do that on Xbox, PS4, Wii or Gamecube.
I think it's hilarious people are still trying to defend nintendo on this. I've got 3 pairs of joycon that all drift to a certain degree. I've never had this issue with any other console. So it must be a design fault of the switch specifically. A fault that really should have been corrected by now.
I think you have to take into account the price tag of this game. For the asking price it's a really solid game. Some of the levels are hard, but in a learn the track you'll have no issues kind of way.
I don't get the attitude of some folks. I don't like cake, so therefore no one else should be allowed to have cake. Weird.
Anyway on topic I really liked Life is Strange, and before the storm. Haven't got round to Life is Strange 2 yet, if it was available on switch I'd get it.

Yes an excitebots release would be great even if it's only digital.

I'd be happy with
Travis touchdown

Sora I think is unlikely due to Disney.
I wish advance wars and Chibi robo got a rep
Re: Review: LastFight - A Weak Clone Of Capcom's Legendary Power Stone
Would buy a remaster of powerstone 2 with a couple of extra levels/items/characters. Such a good multiplayer game.
