Re: Random: Digital Foundry Says Switch 'Last Of Us' Clone Has "No Redeeming Features Whatsoever"

@JoeyTS All corporates lie. They don't care man. If the game looks like TLOU then it isn't TLOU. The cookies have the same color scheme as Oreos but it isn't Oreos. The fake Oreos I ate prob had more cancerous ingredients than the real brand but Target will continue to sell it because they gain from it. If Nintendo wants to take action then they should but then other retails and or companies should also, though I doubt it. In capitalism there are tons of quality products and tons of bad products. Competition will weed the bad ones out. Just learn to pick and choose. The video game industry is no different. I doubt Nintendo will change because there is a lot of money to be made just like Steam or itch.

@JoeyTS Remember Nintendo takes 30% to 40% of sales away from any dev for each copy sold. As blatant as these asset flip devs are, it will just make other flip devs make a "famous" clone game because they know sites like NL will negatively promote it. All publicity is good publicity. Nintendo makes money and the devs. Its really no different than Target or Walmart allowing off brand products on their shelves. Had some knock-off Oreos today lol.

@JoeyTS That's unfortunate. The Last of Us never really interested me so this game wouldn't either. Just like with any product (whether video games or not) u don't have to buy it. Its still consumer responsibility. Tons of janky games but we're all just here because NL chose it for us to bash/market it. If Nintendo is the one with the final say so, they should also be mostly accountable for allowing it to pass through. Steam, itch, Google Play, Nintendo, etc don't care and in the end they want our money and the devs money.

I hope the people involved in making this game don't get too much backlash. Clone games are always being made, all the time. I assume a bunch of post college grads made this game to test the waters.

This type of press makes developers want to give up designing and programming. I personally know someone who made a game with this type of backlash and it has destroyed this person's mental health. Please NL don't stab the wound even further. Move on.
